In the time between making the appt and having the appt I ended up with COVID symptoms. I was unable to modify the appt online so decided to just go and let the PA know when I got there that I needed a COVID test and most importantly, a note for work. The appt was for 5:00. They were supposed to be open until 7:30. When I got in there, I told the PA what happened and I have never felt more humiliated and like a waste of space in my entire dealings with minute clinic. She spoke to me like I was wasting her time, like I was a 2yr old, and told me that I had "booked a 10 min appt, there are still 2 other patients" that she needed to see and that she was closing early that evening. Meanwhile I had just waited 20min in COVID agony in the waiting room. She refused to give me the COVID test because "it takes 15 min and you booked a 10 min appt". She then told me to go buy a COVID test in the store. Online, it doesn't tell you how long the appt being booked is for. It also doesn't let you modify the appt. How was I supposed to know that I booked a 10 min appt? In the amount of time it took her to berate me for the 10 min vs 15 min appt that COVID test could have been started. Absolutely horrible experience. Humiliating and what a way to kick a sick person when they're down.

I find it very convenient when I can't get into the pediatrician. I went with my daughter today who ended up testing positive for influenza B. I was very disappointed a physical exam was not performed on my daughter. I am a nurse practitioner myself and this is a basic medical standard of care. It is also a required element of documentation in order to bill insurance. That means the provider will be falsely reporting physical exam findings today. Unacceptable. The 2 stars are for the nurse/medical assistant who worked quickly, efficiently, and was kind to my anxious daughter who hates having her throat swabbed. I will be communicating my concerns to CVS also. At the very least my daughter's ears, throat and chest should have been examined. Update: It has been virtually impossible to connect with a human at CVS. There are no email options I can see on the website. I've called directly and was placed on hold for several minutes. I had to give up after 20 minutes to get back to my work day. The only other option is snail mail. Taking my business elsewhere moving forward.

I haven't been feeling well for a while and yesterday I hit a new low. I hadn't thought about going anywhere until I stopped by CVS to pickup some prescriptions. I noticed there was next to no wait at the MinuteClinic and decided to sign in. The sign in process was easy and it was great to see that you can now schedule your appointment and save your place in line without waiting. I was greeted by the nurse practitioner named Danielle. She listened to all of my concerns and was super friendly with a great bedside manner. Within about 10 minutes (would have been less if I wasn't so talkative) she figured out the problem and sent the prescription right away to the pharmacy onsite. It was an easy transaction and I am grateful for the convenience during a time where I truly felt terrible and would not have wanted to wait hours to be seen. I highly recommend it. If you're wondering how long the wait will be, check out their site and be sure to reserve your space in line!

Sign up for the CVS card to get coupons. The pharmacy is okay, they seem to communicate a tad bit better online regarding prescription updates versus the one in Canton. However, since the prescription I needed was out of stock, I never got any further updates; it was just stuck in limbo. I had to request a new prescription from my doctor. CVS was founded in Lowell, MA in 1963 and headquartered in Woonsocket, RI. There are approximately 9,967 locations in the US and PR. They sell prescriptions, beauty products, OTC drugs, film & photo services, greeting cards, snacks, and seasonal items. They also have Minute clinic which has physician assistants and family nurse practitioners on duty. This service is only at select CVS'. They can treat, diagnose, write prescriptions for common illnesses. They provide vaccinations for flu, pneumonia, etc. they can treat minor wounds, provide routine lab test, health screenings, and various other services. They didn't have this where I came from in Florida so that is nice to see.
