I work for a doctors office and we sents meds over for a Pt. This pharmacy gave the family the wrong antibiotic dosage. I called the pharmacy to verify that they got the correct prescription, a girl answered the phone told me to wait, I understood told the girl to take her time. She puts me on hold then hangs up. I call again and get hung up on, I call again and someone answered but they were speaking fast and stern the only thing I heard the man saying "we cant help you" mumbled something else and quickly hung up. If someone had answered and politely told me that the person who can help me is unavailable and to call back later, then there would be no issue. But that is not what happened. I unfortunately had to tell my patient that the pharmacy was hanging up on me and she would have to try calling herself. Im not sure what children are working here but they need to be retrained. read more

Wouldn't step foot in here again if it was the last place in earth. Store is old and dirty. Most of the items are locked to prevent theft, so you have to ask a staff member to unlock it for you. Staff acts like you just asked them to boil the ocean for you if you ask for an item to be unlocked. To top it off, I placed a large photo print order the previous night and went in the morning to pick it up. I had the order number confirmation email that my order was ready, but I was told that the order was never done and that I'd have to do it myself at the kiosk. No apology, no offer to look for my order or ask someone else. I specifically spent time editing the pictures and ordering them so I wouldn't have to spend a long time at the in-store kiosk. I tried to get a flu shot here. I had a voucher from my school with specific instructions FROM CVS CORPORATE on how to present the voucher, and how CVS should handle the voucher when presented by the customer. The voucher specifically said "this voucher may be presented electronically or as a paper copy." A lady behind the desk at the pharmacy said we only take printed copies. I said, okay do you have a printer? She said no. REALLY? No printer on site, I find that very hard to believe. Seeing as I personally don't carry a printer around with me, I left without my flu shot. There are a lot of barriers to healthcare, add not having a printer on your person to the list. The two employees I spoke to during this process seemed genuinely disinterested in helping me in any form or fashion. There seems to be a culture of not helping and utter ineptitude, as evidenced by the reviews, and confirmed by my experience. The positive takeaway here is that no one, in the end, came near me with a needle! read more

Do you like long lines? What about 30 minute wait times? What about having your name called so softly you can't hear when your order is ready, forcing you to wait 20 minutes longer than you need to, and then be blamed for not hearing when your order is done? Yes? Then boy do I have a store for you! Ladies and gentlemen, Let me introduce you to the worst pharmacy I have ever used! CVS at 2045 Dixwell in Hamden! I have never had a good experience there! I invite you never have a good experience too! This place is so bad, I'd think twice about going there even if they told me I could have my meds for free! Tonight was extra special, after receiving a text that my meds would be ready on Friday, I went in on Friday and they weren't ready. When I dared ask why I would receive such a text, I got the loquacious and useful response "that's corporate" and nothing else. I actually had to ask if if the conversation was over. What the hell does "that's corporate" even mean? How can a text (noun) be corporate (adjective)? I assume she meant that the problem originated as a result of CVS corporate operations. If this is true, what about responding with an empathic, "I'm sorry. I know this sucks. I ant do anything about your problem and I wish I could. This upsets me too. I have to deal with this garbage all the time." ? I would have loved that. I would have left without my meds but happy nonetheless. Instead I just left. And now I'm leaving CVS. I'm done. My experience tonight is with the minute clinic and the pharmacy only... i have read though all of the reviews and cannot believe that I lucked out. I went here tonight with an issue and Miley at the clinic was amazing .. she also called in a prescription to the pharmacy which was filled quickly and ready for me to pick up when I walked over there. Always a negative pharmacy experience. The staff are incredibly rude, don't answer questions in an informative manner and act like they despise their customers personally. Yesterday I went in to pick up a prescription that, according to my insurance company, has been ready for the past few days. When I pulled into the drive through window the women was giving me an attitude because of not understanding my name, then proceeded to tell me there's nothing there. When I explained to her that I have been getting voicemails and calls from my insurance company that it is ready, she said "we're waiting on your doctor"-- which didn't make sense. I asked her why that would be and she didn't give me a straight answer. I pull out of the drive through window and now I'm going through the headache of calling my insurance company. They apparently tell me that the pharmacy didn't even RUN my name or my insurance and they my medication IS ready. This is insane to me- what I thought would've taken me 15 minutes took me AN HOUR. there so much more to this story. The woman at the drive through window, sherry/ Sheryl really should do a training on customer relations and maybe even how to do her job properly because withholding medication and providing misinformation to customers who need medicine is despicable. Terrible pharmacy, if I could give this pharmacy 0 stars I would. The attitudes are disgusting specially over the phone! Staff specially one of the females speaks to you like you actually owe her money personally. If you can't deal with the public, this is not the job for you! They never auto refill so you always have to call 2-4 times, on top of an extra call to make sure you're medicines are ACTUALLY READY FOR PICKUP. Honestly, if this place could get negative stars, I would give it a negative 1 billion stars. I do not think I have hatred for a store more than this location. Clearly, I am not alone - since the rating is only 1.5 stars without this review. I have been here numerous times, and each time only out of pure necessity. I went in last night and had a question about a over the counter medication so I stepped into the "consultation" area. I waited...and waited...and waited some more. Actually, I counted 5 separate people who walked right by me (pharmacy staff.) So by then, I was actually going to walk away, and the pharmacist who was clearly busy, kept asking for more help in order to "help the consult" aka me. So, he then proceeds to actually point at me, and say "you need help?" NO buddy I am standing here for no reason, and to waste my life away at this dreadful and horrible location. Anyways, while he did in fact answer my question, when I had another question, he actually looked at me as if he was "put off" to actually continue to "help me". Unfortunately, this is not the first time the service at this location has been horrendous. They always also have many items they are stocking the shelves with, strewn across the floors, and in the way of when people are shopping. I literally walked over a girl stocking the shelves, because everything was all over the floor and half on a cart. Just do yourself a favor and don't go to this CVS. Terrible. read more

Terrible store presentation and customer service. In attempting to get razors the other day, I couldn't get the container open. The cashiers watched me unfazed. I finally went over and told them "the razor container isn't working." One of them rolled their eyes and said "it's not broken, it's locked." Then speaking to the other cashier she said, "we've probably only had one person ask to unlock it everyone else is wrong." She implied heavily that she thought "everyone else " was super dumb! Setting aside the fact that if everyone has trouble with your product, it's probably a UX/design problem, it was rude. To cap matters, when I went to pay, I handed her a page with two coupons on it. Super fast she said "rip out the one you want to use," but before I could respond she muttered under her breath "never mind I'll do it for you since you're clearly retarded or something." It was honestly the rudest thing I've EVER experienced. I was so shocked (and somewhat bemused) I just left without saying anything (probably confirmed her suspicions that I was "retarded"). This particular Pharmacy has declined in the last two years, the staff is a revolving door, training appears to be defiant when I call and or go thru the drive thru, which doesn't utilize both lanes, and has a sign on it that management didn't know was there for over a year. Some prescriptions aren't readily available making wait times extremely long & for the past year EVERY time I have gone there the billing is wrong increasing my weight time to over an hour! Worst CVS I've ever been to. They are constantly out of stock of everything you could need and the food their keep in store and sell to customers has been expired on multiple occasions. Their shelves are literally bare half the time, i don't get it. The pharmacy is so bad that even though I've used CVS my entire life, i had to switch all my prescriptions to the Walgreens on Whitney which is MUCH more reliable. I agree with all of the other negative reviews posted here regarding this pharmacy. I can't think of ever having a good experience picking up prescriptions from this place. Despite always giving extra time for the order to be filled even up to an extra 24 hours I still walk in and have to wait for them to fill my prescription. And on top of it all, the negative, could care less attitude the pharmacists consistently dish out is beyond. In the future, I will avoid at all costs despite close proximity to my home. I have been going to this pharmacy for a year now so I can't even say this rudeness and disorganization is due to COVID. Words cannot describe my anger and frustration every time I interact with the pharmacy. I would be asked for my name or birth date and be cut off abruptly. One of the female staff members will text on her phone even when there's a line of 6 people waiting. This CVS is the absolute worst. They make zero effort to help you get your prescriptions, and they never know what's going on. They NEVER contact your doctor even after being instructed to do so, they lie and say they have reached out to the doctor but "haven't heard back yet." They will also call/text you to say your prescription is ready to be picked up, but then when you show up to get it they say you have nothing ready and they don't know what you're talking about. Zero stars is what this hell hole deserves. I'm forced to use CVS by my insurance company for "maintenance medications" when I was perfectly happy with Walgreen's. The staff at this pharmacy is extremely rude, ignorant, impatient with customers (including the elderly), and just this side of illiterate. The pharmacy is consistently filled with incredulous customers who cannot believe that filling a prescription in the 21st century could possibly be this complicated and disorganized. As soon as I switched over to this pharmacy (and filled out all necessary paperwork), my father (who lives in another state!) began getting calls on his cellphone about my prescriptions! Now I am a 36 year old woman who had not lived with her father in almost two decades. He is not on my insurance and has never used a CVS. How they obtained his number and why they were calling him (and not me - whose number was put onto all of the paperwork I was forced to fill out) was totally beyond the ability of anyone to answer. So my dad is getting calls that my medication is ready to be picked up and lets me know. When I go in to pick it up, I'm told no such prescription exists. I am told to go to the drop-off window, where I wait 15 minutes, before an annoyed woman says she will change the phone number in the account. Then I am told the meds will be ready in 15 minutes (I wait 45). This same exact thing happens 3 MONTHS in a row. The phone number is never changed, prescriptions that I'm told (or rather my dad is) are ready over the phone are indeed not ready, and I am sent back and forth from drop-off to pick-up counter trying to find someone to help me. The people who work at this pharmacy are beyond incompetent, virtually uneducated, and completely untrained. They are violating all kinds of privacy laws and have been reported to the state board of health. Unacceptable customer "service". read more

The lines for the pharmacy pick up are always out the door and since they've moved the customer line closer to the cashiers, there is NO patient confidentiality. They never have the Rx ready when you arrive even when the Rx was called in ahead of time. Their excuse is "we're running about a day behind". So even after you've waited in their long line and are told your Rx is not ready, you have to wait again and moreover, you have to go back to the END of that long line once they finally get around to filling the Rx! read more

Have been here 4-5 times ( many trips a dry run) and save one, every time was a screw up. Most often, I did not exist in the computer. Refills for simple medications were simply not done, lost, etc. I go to pick it up, clerk cannot even find me in the computer, makes me go to drop off line, they also can't help me, I have my doctor's office on the line because they know who they spoke to when they called it in, CVS pharm clerk refuses to talk to them and won't make eye contact with me. My doctor then called them direct, and was put on hold multiple times, then the call was dropped. I tried again to get someone at the pharmacy counter to wait on me, no luck, at least five people would not make eye contact- and I had not been rude or loud- and it was NOT busy. Not once have I come to this CVS and had a good experience. On 5 separate occasions refilling one prescription has take 12 hours or more. I have called in TWELVE hours in advance to refill my prescription. When I arrived, it was not ready and I was asked to wait 20 minutes. On another occasion the prescription had been called in a DAY in advance and it was still not ready when I arrived. I will never be returning here. The customer service is deplorable. read more

Incompetent pharmacy - now and before Covid. I can't believe that they are allowed to stay in business. They issued me more pills than I was suppose to receive and when I discovered this and asked how many my doctor ordered (the quantity printed on bottle differed from the quantity dispensed and inside bottle) they acted like it was no big deal. THIS IS A HUGE NO NO FOR A PHARMACY. I will report them to the proper authorities. The guy at the drive thru window works on other matters in the middle of dealing with the customer waiting right in front of him, causing huge lines and delays in the drive thru. The people inside tell you they will handle mistakes and have your prescription ready by so and so date and time but that never happens. It takes several attempts. This entire store is a hot mess. They had construction work that took place and all products on shelving are covered in drywall dust and debris. It's a disgusting store and pharmacy! Zero stars or negative stars would be more appropriate. Truly, everyone should be let go and entire new team brought in. It's as if they are all zombies, lazy and incompetent. I would give 0 stars if I could. Went to the minute clinic on a Sunday evening. I looked online and saw they were open until 4:30. We arrived at 4:10 and began checking on the computer. An employee came out and told us that the clinic was closed. I pointed out the time and she said "well, we shut the computers down at 4:15." I pulled out my phone and it said 4:13 and then she quickly said "We shut them down at 4:12, I have no control over it." We had a medical emergency (my husband's hand was extremely swollen and red) and I begged for someone to please see us and she refused and could not care less. No compassion, no empathy, probably just wanted to go home a little early. I've had issues in the past with the terrible service at the pharmacy (always a long line and unfriendly people- not sure how the new people are because we switched pharmacies years ago) I should have known better. This has dot to be the WORST Pharmacy in the world. I used to always shop in this store, until I started usuing their Pharmacy, Which I have no choice of due to insurance. After trying to contact their CorporTe office receiving no respinse back I stopped shopping there. I got an RX today for antibiotic. For strep throat and ear infection, After waiting an hour, told not ready, come back in 20 minutes, came back told not ready come back I. 30 minutes. I asked to have them print out the RX and I would bring to a more efficient pharmacy. They said they could not do this. They said they had too many people call out, I really don't care. It's only an antibiotic, you had me already waiting 2 hours, pour the pills from one bottle to another put a label on it and let me go home, they said they will call me when it's ready, I gotta see this, HATE THIS PHARMACY, it always like this, call outs or not. I will NEVER enter this store again,once I get this script. I would rather pay out of pocket then to go thru all this aggravation. I fill my mothers at STOP and SHOP never a problem. Ugh read more

I've been to a couple different cvs's over the years and I've never had a bad experience until I went to this one. Trying for over a week I was not able to get my prescription. The pharmacist there was incredibly rude and every time I spoke to her on the phone she'd just about hang up on me without listening to my response. She did not seem to care how important it was to me to have my prescription refilled ASAP which is ridiculous because its a prescription. People need them ASAP. Aside from the hanging up on me she didn't do things to help me until I had to start being rude to get answers from her. I work in customer service. I know how customers should be treated and its not the way she's been treating me. I wish I knew her name. I think it starts with a p. she is Asian. But I literally will never go to that location again. That woman does not deserve her job. I called my old cvs and ill make the longer drive to that one where they already have my prescription filled when the woman at this location said they "couldn't get it" bull****.
