Minute-Man Movers moved me twice, and both times they were nothing short of incredible. The three gentlemen who moved me were polite, punctual, organized, careful, efficient, and highly organized -- need I go on? The first move was two years ago when I moved from Honesdale to New York City. And the second time was a few months ago when I moved out of my New York City apartment to New Jersey, but Minute-Man Movers transported all of my belongings to a storage unit back in Scranton, PA. The team likes to get started early, and when I say early, the earlier the better. I asked Dave, the lead guy at the company, if he could be at my apartment by 6 a.m., and true to his word he was there at the requested time right on the dot. Both times the guys moved me, nothing was out of place, let alone damaged, and the second time around I did a lousy job of packing. But that didn't stop them from taking care of everything. It was a little pricy for me, but that's because of all of the driving the movers had to undertake back and forth, but their service was nothing short of incredible both times, so it was worth every penny. Minute Man Movers did an incredible job moving me to my home. They accommodated the day I needed to move; showed up ten minutes early; reviewed everything that was needed to be moved; and worked expeditiously while respecting my belongings. Upon arrival to the new location everything was unloaded and set up, again very quickly but without any issues -- they were so very careful. One thing they did, something I thought was unusual, they walked with me through each room to determine if everything was in place and how I wanted it. After my final approval, we sat down and went through the charges and received the invoice. I thought the cost was very fair and less than I expected. MinuteManMovers actually deserves 10 stars out of 5. I made a request to my local FB group for movers. In 30 minutes I received 25 responses. 24 for The Minute Man Movers with high praises. AND THEY WERE RIGHT! As a former business owner, I recognize honest, hard workers when I see them in action. Such polite men! Dave the owner, along with Mike and Nick were the hardest working team I have ever seen. Dave worked shoulder to shoulder with these guys who know their job and did it to perfection. They figured the logistics on how to best pack from our pick up place and then to our new destination in PA. They also went two times to our storage in Passaic County, NJ back up to our new PA location like it was nothing. They were never on time. They were ALWAYS EARLY! I never saw them take a break except to grab a sip of coffee or quick restroom. They treated their time as our money (not theirs) and were so kind, respectful of our belongings, polite, and so upbeat from start to finish in record time. They placed each box and belonging neatly in the designated area we assigned and it is so easy to find everything now. Whenever I tried to help they said, "No. That is our job, Ma'am". To find responsible people treat their job as if they were helping their own parents and who are not trying to rip you off is rare in deed. Kudos to Dave, Mike and Nick. Simply amazing!!! Don't look any further!!! HIRE MINUTE MAN!!! Dave and his guys were personable, fast, and treated my belongings as if they were their own. What would have taken me and a handful of friends a solid day took Dave and two guys about three hours. Nobody stopped moving and all of my belongings arrived unharmed and were neatly placed in any location I asked. I see the last review before mine was from 15 months ago, before COVID, so a recent review is needed. I was recommended to them by someone who had used them. Over the phone, I described the quantity of stuff I needed to move. Dave said if I really did have that much stuff, then he would need to do an in-person estimate. I needed packing, and have enough stuff to fill a 3,000 s.f. home. I also needed some furniture shuffled around for my husband after mine was removed, and he agreed to do it and said no problem. I clearly showed him everything when he came in person to do the estimate. Both over the phone, and then in person when he came to do the estimate, he confirmed the 2 days for the move. I asked him 3 times, to be clear about the days and job, and he said "you're written in stone". He said he'd get back to me in a couple days with the estimate. So I called my realtor, who let the sellers of my new home know the dates. The day after Dave came, I emailed his business to request that a couch and card table indeed be included in the move, because the day he came I had indicated I would not be taking them. Another day later, he called me. The person that called me was the polar opposite of the friendly, polite man that had come to my house. He was uptight & upset, starting out the conversation with "Now you're emailing me that you want to take extra stuff, you're talking going into 3 days now, I can't do this job, I can't reserve the time, I'm in Tennessee..." In other words, I emailed him that I wanted to take 1 extra couch and table, and he was having a meltdown over the phone. I said, "I asked you 3 times to confirm, I already told my realtor and the sellers the dates, you said I was written in stone...so then I'll try to take less stuff and you don't have to do packing, I'm flexible, I can come back for some of it." (It's a divorce situation.) My offering to be flexible only seemed to get him more agitated. He then said I shouldn't have said anything to anyone until I heard from him with the estimate amount (which had nothing to do with booking the dates). (Keep in mind...he DID come in person to my house to do the estimate, so he had no delusions when he left my house about the magnitude of the job.) He said, "Well, I can only give you 1 day, take 3 rooms' worth of furniture, and that's it." (No packing...and 3 rooms of furniture is only like 1/6 of my stuff! I had been very clear during the estimate that I needed packing because I'm slightly disabled.) I was really upset. I said, "What am I supposed to do about all the rest of my furniture & stuff then? I'm going to be divorced, will be stuck in the house and won't even be able to move!" His response was a sarcastic, "Well you own it, so...." I was shocked at such a personal assumption about my circumstances and the comment...I never said I owned it! I was so stunned that I was speechless. I then falteringly said, "Well can you at least hold the 1 day on the calendar for 24 hours until I make some calls and see if I can get someone else?" He brusquely said, "Well 24 hours, that's it. I'll tell the office. I don't even know if they can do that." Again, silence on my end...I was trying to absorb the shock, upset and what this meant to me...and he HUNG UP on me!! Didn't even say "goodbye"! I don't understand how he could have misinterpreted the job when he came and looked at everything...but it seems he was going to try to do the move with 1 straight truck and 2 guys, and the moving company I did indeed get is sending 2 straight trucks and 6 guys, and it'll be a 12-13 hour day, done in 1 day. And they're packing everything the day before too. Dave's personal or business problems, or where he is, are not a paying customer's problems... so I don't understand how that would have precipitated a meltdown...and his assumptive comment about my owning the home was uncalled for. I told my friend who recommended the company what happened, and she also said she'd be pretty upset if she was me. She couldn't believe the attitude and comments, and backing out of the job when it was confirmed 3 times. All I have to say is, if someone is that stressed out where they have an attitude meltdown with someone who wants to be a paying customer, especially a divorced disabled woman who was counting on the help (which was really upsetting), then maybe they shouldn't be in business anymore, or should get more help. All I did was count on what he told me...and I got the brunt of his stress. read more

I've used minuteman for years and have sung their praises and referred to many friends for moving. This last move I used their storage services for 8 months for the first time. When I used them to move my stuff back in, after they left I began unpacking - sealed boxes were soaked on the inside. Mold covering many of my things - ruined tons of stuff. Mouse droppings in my furniture. As soon as I had an issue and called them the same night. Their communication with me was terrible. I'd get a call they asked for pictures ( please feel free to PM , I have tons of pics). Then I'd call a week later and they'd say oh I didn't check my email send again. The last email I got was from Dave that he'd " resolve this quickly and is working on it " and then silence. I've left several messages , emailed them several times - absolutely nothing. They never apologized and never followed up. this is how they treat a customer that has used their service for over 9 years... I am in the process of contacting the better business bureau and filing in small claims court. STAY AWAY! read more

I began my search for a mover later than I should have and everyone was booked for the time I wanted. It became an ASAP situation. Minute Man promised to call if they got a cancellation. True to their word, I got a call on a Thursday and they moved me that Monday! Dave and his two helpers were great. Although I had not packed the bedroom they managed to get all the furniture out. They were very professional and treated my things like their own...taking legs off of any furniture that had them.One of them pointed out that the electrical cord to a lamp was damaged and, if gone unnoticed, could have started a fire! They worked nonstop, making me tired just watching them. This was repeated at my new home and everything was moved in in its original condition...they even wiped everything down to check for scratches...of course there were none! I could never recommend Minute-Man Movers. They get no stars!!They did a good job for a client (I am a Realtor) several years ago and I recommended them to another client. They were hard to get a hold of, didn't return calls promptly and then postponed the move due to sickness. They rescheduled for New Years Day but then never showed up or returned calls!!!! Moving is not something you just put off once you have sold a house!!!! This was incredibly unprofessional, discourteous,and plain rude! My client was left with a house full of furniture to move and no movers, no answers, no suggestions of a replacement company, etc. One experience like this is one too many.
