Wow!! My husband and I broke down and he worked on our car in Gonzales. I went to this nail salon for a pedicure while my husband fixed our car. Unfortunately, they overcharged me by $53!! Horrible service!!! Please don't waste your time and Money. Both Kim and Sam were in such a hurry and did a horrific job. When I went in to show Sam he blamed it on my nail shape. He said he couldn't do anything about it just file them and he had no time because his next appointment had showed up. Just left the Mint Nails and Spa in Gonz. I had a full set of nails done with a the man that works there. I will never return to this shop. He did a terrible job then preceded to explain to me that the streaky gel he applied was because of the color I chose. Then told me he will have to change the nail color and I should have told him after the first nail. He then said, "because the Queen had to be happy." HIS rude and pompous behavior, I told him would surely be an end to his business. I explained to him that I came into his salon to relax and enjoy the pampering. I had a pedicure done on Friday. Sat I woke up and two of my nails had peeled partially off. Went in on Saturday and they told me they were too busy to fix them. Ok so I go back on Sunday. The lady actually asked me why I peeled them off! Lady I'm not spending 45$ for a pedicure to go and peel off two partial nails. Won't be back for two reasons. My boyfriend made an appointment here for my birthday to get a mani/pedi. Usually i do my own nails so i know the proper way to do nails. I had acrylic nails on one hand to remove and they just pried the nails off with a nail tip, completely damaging my nail plate in the process. I opted for a new acrylic set and the technician started going through the process. She used monomer that seemed like it was sitting in the vessel for awhile and had been used on many other clients. In the end, my cuticle area was not clean and i had a bit of acrylic and gel color on my skin. She did nothing with my cuticles in the way of moisturizing so they looked dry and crusty. The saving grace of this place was the pedicure, no complaints there. Nail tecnicians are supposed to care about the health of a clients nails and i feel they did a rush job and cut corners here. For the amount of money customers pay for the services i would expect top notch work. read more

This nail salon is not your typical salon. You come in as strangers and leave as best friends with the staff. The staff is hilarious by the way! They always make me laugh. The salon is well-kept, very clean, and super cute. They have every drink you could imagine + snacks + coffee. Let's talk about nails now. Every staff memeber is a perfectionist and if one doesn't know how to do something, then another staff member will step in and save the day to satisfy your needs. They know how to do everything to your nails, so if you come in with a picture you saw on Pinterest they'll be able to do it. They take appointments and walk-ins and do a fast, but efficient job! Tried this place out for the first time. Unfortunately, I got a rushed job and it just turned up messy. He left a lot of polish on the sides of my nails. He also said I didn't need a manicure, just the polish. I went along with it, but shouldn't have. It was cheap, so I got what I paid for. I was desperate for a gel mani/pedi. I went in and the man assumed I wanted a full set and just called it a mani. This should of been a sign why would he assume I didn't know what I wanted. I assured him I wanted a mani. The mani was horrible. He left all my cuticle and shaped them horribly. Less than 24 hrs later one of my nails broke and others lifted. Horrible never going here again. I'm really disappointed because I always come with Sam for acrylics and he does a good job. I came in for a pedicure with Kim. To say she rushed it is an understatement. She was done "massage" and all within 10 minutes, I timed it. She had regulars come in and did a 30 minute service with them. She used at least 4 coats of polish so it was no surprise that when I went to put my sandal on, the polish on one nail wiped off (after having me sit there waiting for them to dry for at least 20 minutes). If you aren't one of Kim's regulars just find somewhere else if you want to get a decent pedicure. Sam is great for acrylics though. read more

Was always skeptical because my friends have given me mixed reviews. I decided to try them out, so I went about 4 weeks ago. I called and made an appointment, they called and asked if I can come sooner, so I did. The man did a great job! My gel polish on natural nail lasted 3 weeks. They stayed shiny and didn't chip till the 3rd week, which was ok since I was ready for a color change. I went back last Wednesday and this time the lady painted my nails. I noticed she did alot of coats so when I left they looked just ok. Well the next day 1polishd nail chipped. By Saturday the polished chipped off on 4 nails. When I went in to ask if they can redo them she was extremely rude, hadn't even remembered I got polish on natural nail, she insisted I took off the acrylics (I never had acrylics) I wasn't being rude I just wanted my embarrassing nails fixed. Regret leaving her a $6 tip! I've learned my lesson the hard way I should have listened to my friends and the opinions they gave me. read more

Awful!!! Went in for a gel nail polish change, and the lady "Kim" tried putting new polish over my old gel polish, she said I was being too picky. I told her of course they are my nails and I'm paying for it. Needless to say I will not be returning, I could believe how rude the lady is!!! read more

After the new owners (Sam and Kim) took over, the quality and the customer service is much better. I've been to Sam and Kim's previous shops in Salinas, and I always leave as a happy customer. I've had my nails and manicure done by both Sam and Kim before, and they are both very friendly, happy, and sweet people. If you want things done a certain way, let them know, nicely, and they are always happy to keep you happy! Will be coming here again! read more
