One of these appointments was at Terrene and I decided to try the sugaring. I have been waxing for years and read that sugaring was better for several reasons so I decided to get the "works" and sugar several parts of my body (I won't go into details but you get the idea). I wanted to find someone who was knowledgeable with how sugaring works and Molly was that person! She explained the differences between waxing and sugaring. Basically the way sugaring removes hair is different because, instead of ripping hairs out in the opposite direction like waxing does, the sugar ball pulls them out with quick, fast movements in the same direction they grow. It also pulls hair out from the root without taking skin cells off with it, making it gentler than waxing. Also, with sugaring you may be less likely to have ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs are always a concern and I didn't have any after the sugaring. It also hurt less, which was either the sugaring process or her technique. I really liked her personality and demeanor. She was calm and efficient - just what you want when someone is ripping out your hair! When she would get to a sensitive spot, she would chat with me which helped take my mind off of the hair removal. Her set up is really inviting.
