However, when we came in, we did not get greeted - like at all and it was unfortunate because there was two ladies at the front desk Yolanda and Amarie (Amarie was helping another customer and her service seem great. I wish she could've been the one helping us.) on the flyer for the package. There were some add-on services that I had inquired about and that girl Yolanda pretty much told me she didn't know and never got back to me. Didn't ask if Manny the masseuse did not look into it for me it would've been a bust. He offered an alternative service as far as a foot mask. That was an even better option for us so we were pretty thankful for that, but if I had left it up to the other girl, it would've just been when it was . confusion and a whole bunch of nothing Yolanda was the girl that helped us again no greeting She kind of just waved us to the back, pointed at the robes ask us our shoe size and that was really it Once we were changed standing there awkwardly, she walked me into a room and left my mom in the hallway and then asked me. Did you tell your mom to come -I looked at her like girl I don't even know what's going on so why would I tell her to come once we went to the room? It was like again we were kind of just sitting there like what's going on a few minutes later she brought in a glass of champagne for my mom so we hung out there for about 30 minutes before they took us back for the massage. I think it was a really big missed opportunity to say "hello Welcome to aqua blue. My name is so-and-so thank you for booking this package" or happy Mother's Day whatever but she literally didn't greet us at all. My mom looked bummed that it was starting off with a really lackluster experience I paid $400 for this package You would think once they saw my reservation for such a package they would've at least acknowledged it in some way By the time we got upstairs, I was pretty frustrated with the service we were receiving -thank goodness Ruben and Manny were really friendly and helpful. It probably would've been lower stars if Manny wouldn't have been so unbelievably sweet, caring and compassionate. My mom was really struggling getting off her jewelry and nobody would help her. I have really long nails so I was struggling. Manny was the only person nice enough to attempt to help her and put it back on after the massage was completed To be honest for $400 I was pretty disappointed. Manny did a great job and I am very thankful for him. My mom was really happy with Ruben. But did I feel like I was there getting a luxurious experience for Mother's Day absolutely not! Did I feel like we were bothering them with a groupon package absolutely! The advertise these chocolates that they had, I asked about them they didn't have any available. It just seemed like a lot of missed opportunities and we were there the day before Mother's Day so any of the ladies that went on actual Mother's Day We're probably super bummed that they didn't have any of the accoutrement offered. Sad part is the following weekend. I took my mom to happy feet down the street and she got a foot and neck massage and I got a neck and shoulder massage and the total was $70 and to be honest I felt more relaxed when I was leaving there, then I did with aqua blue . I'm kind of glad I decided to do that because honestly, I was going to book with Manny again because he was amazing but with those prices to not be happy was pretty unacceptable. My dad passed recently, so Mother's Day had proven to be harder than expected. That's why I wanted to do something extra special for her this year by booking the spa. We have been to massage envy before and that's honestly where I was gonna go this time, but I was trying to do an elevated experience that was outside of a corporate place but honestly, I think even the value at massage envy is greater than here because again with those prices to not be happy it's just crappy honestly it took me a while to write the review because I didn't want to seem Like I didn't enjoy the time with my mom. I absolutely did. I just didn't enjoy the lack of customer service- if I was paying what I paid over there at happy feet this would've been a five star review but $400 later to leave unsatisfied.... All I'm saying is I'm down to spend some money and I'm down to spend some good money on quality stuff. I just feel kind of ripped off.

I've only had them on for 4 days, so I can't speak on the longevity of Nicole's work, but I can tell you that I'm really happy with the way they look. The only reason I considered 4 stars is because the shop is very plain. There are no bells or whistles... and I'm OK with that because Nicole does great work. I'm very picky about my lashes. I've been getting lash extension since 2008, so I'm not a rookie. I used to get my lashes done is San Jose and Los Gatos. The techs there are skilled and there seems to be a lash salon on every corner. We moved to Marina 2 months ago, and I was bummed that I couldn't find a good lash person in Monterey or Carmel. The quality of work just wasn't was I was used, especially for the price. Driving to San Jose for fills was becoming such a pain, so I decided to try Nicole based on the Yelp reviews. Here's what I like: Nicole is friendly and clean. I liked the fact that I could smell hand sanitizer (or soap) on her hands. She uses good products. I can't remember the lash size she used, but they were soft to the touch and perfect for my eyes. They are thick enough to be seen, but not so thick that they weigh my eyelids down or look like I'm wearing falsies. The glue she used didn't both me (sometimes during allergy season, I can be extra sensitive to the glue). Nicole is fairly quick. I think it took an hour for a fill. Now understand, this was the first time I saw Nicole. She was doing a fill on someone else's work, so I think an hour is pretty decent. Nicole's prices are reasonable, especially for the end result. What I really like and appreciate about Nicole is that she is REALLY gentle. I have an extra-sensitive lash line, and she never once made me flinch. There was no pulling or yanking of my old lashes. I could actually relax and enjoy my time on the table.

First off the shop is beautiful and as you enter you already feel yourself begin to relax and prepare for a little pampering. I suffer from acne and as an adult it is so frustrating to find the right products to help my skin. Nicole, gave me a phenomenol facial, leaving my skin feeling so soft and refreshed. I started the Vitaskin Vitamins for acne, as she recommended and the results have been so appreciated. I also use the Hungarian Herbal Mud treatment from the Eminence line, this mask is amazing! Its hot and tingly which makes me feel it really working to kill the bacteria in my skin. Even though I do not live in Salinas, Nicole always makes sure I get the products I need, and sends me any updates on promotions or new products. Every time I visit family in that area I will stop into Serene for a facial. Thank you Nicole for your knowledge on skin care, your professionalism and most importantly getting my skin to glow again!! read more

My older sister started going to Nicole at Serene after learning about her from a friend. She quickly talked me into going as well, that was over 5 years ago and I am still a loyal and happy customer! She has transitioned me from crappy make up to mineral based make up, over the counter face products to certified organic products and my skin has thanked her and been 100% better looking since. The products she carries are a little pricey (compared to over the counter products), but so worth it!! Nicole is awesome, she gives you 100% honest treatments, doesn't try to oversell her products or service, they speak for themselves, and once you try it, you will understand! Her shop is cozy and clean, her service is friendly and professional, she my girl! I would recommend Serene Esthetics to anybody looking for a new esthetician! read more

For more than a year after my regular esthetician stopped working, I searched for a good, knowledgeable esthetician. I tried quite a few, but they all they all seemed to be pretty "cookie cutter" and did not really seem to be knowledgeable about specific skin issues. That all changed when I visited Serene Esthetics and met Nicole. She is undoubtedly the most knowledgeable, skillful esthetician I have had the pleasure of knowing. Every time I leave her cute little shop, my skin feels amazing. She has introduced me to skin care products which have improved my home skincare regime immensely. With very minimal communication from the salon tech, I waited 8 months to finally get a message saying that she would be able to finish my eye brows but I would have to pay another $200.... After asking for an explanation of why I would have to pay more money, when I had already paid in full, she once again didn't reply. This isn't just a facial that didn't get finished, this is ink on my face! The right thing to do would be to finish what was started and already paid for. Very disappointed!

Kaycie is knowledgeable, sweet, and oh-so-talented with brows. My microblading appointment went quickly and my results are above and beyond my expectations. Highly recommend and look forward to returning!
