FOOD: The food here was great! It's so nice to have a good dumpling place close by. All the food we had was delicious! We started with the cream cheese rangoons, cucumber salad which were both really great. We ordered veggie fried rice, mapo tofu, chicken dumplings in chili sauce and green beans. Everything tasted really good! SERVICE: Our server, James was very friendly and helpful! He always checked on us and took our order and the food came out in a timely manner. AMBIANCE: When we walked in, James asked us if we wanted to go to the back area of the restaurant which had some additional seating and was more private. It's my weekend of "YES!" in the OC, so of course I checked out Min's Dumpling, as suggested by Yelp friend Sherry C. (aka IG: aglassofsherry). I'm glad I did! I was welcomed in immediately and guided towards the menus. A large one on the wall, many laminated ones at the counter, and handed a tie-fold menu to look at. Everything looked good and it was challenge to not over order, but I've been craving dim sum and there were many options. Hubs was there for support, but not indulgence, so I ordered Shrimp & Pork Shu Mai: very tasty! Sweet Piggy Buns: YUM! (...and oh so CUTE!) A must get if you like soft, steamed bao w/slightly sweet custard filling. And Sesame Ball: these are always on my list as a must. Unfortunately, these were small, greasy, unevenly fried and not uniformly covered in sesame. They didn't satisfy my craving, so I'll have to find these again, maybe back in SGV on the way home. I was also wanting to add more clean protein and for that, broccoli chicken was perfect. The sauce was nice and light and there was a generous amount of chicken breast and lightly sautéed, still crunchy broccoli. They just launched new beverages so I opted for a Thai Tiger Milk w/traditional boba. It was good, but I think I'll stick to boba drinks from Sunright when I'm craving milk tea, boba and cheese foam. The interior of Min's is very cute and I wish I could've seen the robot server in action. We placed a pick up order after seeing the UE BOGO promo for pork xiao long bao. Soup Dumplings 4/5: They were good, both in texture and flavor. They inclided black vinegar, soy sauce, and Sriracha. We would have enjoyed ginger and chili oil/crunch, but that may come down to their to go options. Scallion Pancakes 5/5: They were our favorite from the meal. The tasted so fresh, and they were crisp with a good chew. Fried String Beans 4/5: There was a generous amount of minced garlic that complimented the tang of the sauce, but they were a bit oily. Stopped by Min's Dumpling for a quick bite tonight. Very small restaurant but it was clean. I ordered the main entrees instead of dumplings. Chicken fried rice: very good flavor but definitely needs more chicken. Rice and protein could have been of a better ratio. Too much rice and not much chicken. For the few pieces of chicken in the dish, it was nice and tender meat. Sweet and sour chicken: requested without batter fried and they gladly did it. But it had too much of vinegar taste and way too much onions. The chicken again, was very tender and good. Maybe I ordered the wrong menu items? Next time I'll try the chicken and broccoli in brown sauce, Kung pao chicken, and/or shrimp with broccoli? Service was great. I'm so happy to find out Min's Dumpling opened a new location so close to home! I placed the order via Toast app and everything was ready upon arrival. Parking free, easy and plenty. You can also place the order using their two kiosks by the entrance or via server. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. I think it would be best if consumed onsite as everything tasted tepid and cold by the time I got home some 10 minutes later. The dumplings and wontons were wonderful. Flavorful and had just the right amount of filling and great texture. Scallion pancakes were ok. The oil tasted stale and I wish I had some sort of dipping sauce to go with it. We love XLB so we were excited to try this new dumpling spot so close to home. You order on a kiosk and then find a table. Ordering is easy and the restaurant is clean with friendly staff. We have eaten many xlb from many different spots and we ordered a couple of dishes that we usually get when we go out for dumplings and here are my thoughts: Cukes - crunchy but needed to marinate longer as they were not that flavorful Green beans - al dente with good flavor Pork XLB - the skin is too thick and most had NO broth. We ordered 3 steamers and only a 3rd had broth. They don't have sliced ginger which goes hand in hand with vinegar as accompaniments so that makes these XLB only 3 stars Spicy wontons - thin skin with good amount of meat and I appreciate that they didn't drown them in the spicy sauce Hot n Sour soup - spicy with a good amount of tofu, etc in it. Got to try out this Chinese restaurant in Mission Viejo. I enjoyed the chick chow mein and the Xiao Long Bao. The noodles was not too oily and the chicken was tender. While the XLB was meaty and soupy. The server was attentive and provided us with water refills. They do have a robot server too which was fun for the kids. This place was DELICIOUS! My mom and I had Cucumber Salad, Chicken Soup Dumplings, Piggy Buns, Green Beans and Green Onion Pancakes (I forget the official name, maybe that's it). Everything was perfect. The piggy buns were so fun. The photo was what got me in there. I love stuff like that that are cute, and also delicious. The service was impeccable. The gal was so friendly and I went to get us two water cups and she took care of it. The kitty robot that brings the food is so cute and fun. It has the cutest little voice. The price was a bit steep as we spent $70 but we will be back for sure. My only other sight gripe was it was very warm inside. Came with a large party and were seated in the back room. A friend wanted to celebrate her birthday with dumplings so we decided to give this place a try. For the 1st couple dishes, a robot rolled to our table and we had to remove the food from its shelves. It kind of got caught at the table corner but we were able to to free it. We also ordered the sweet pig buns. They were served at the same time as the food. Since we waited a while, by the time we ate thw pigs, the buns were already cool. They were good but could have been better if we ate it when it was warm. Overall the food was good. The pricing was a little on the higher end but it was good to try. Staff: The staff here is really amazing. We had 2 servers but our main one was Johe which may be misspelled. Her service was truly top notch. She was very friendly, welcoming, attentive, and a pleasure to be helped by. Quality/Quantity: The food here was so good. We tried the spicy wontons, fried rice, vegetable egg rolls, pot stickers, and dumplings. Everything was good but the spicy wontons were LEGENDARY. They were very flavorful and not too hot. These are my favorite. Portion sizes are fair. Value: This is subjective to each individual, but I can say that all of the food ordered was $60. Overall: We've been in search of a new Chinese restaurant and I am happy to say I think we found it. We were very impressed by this establishment. Our server recommended a bunch of things which were all certified hits like honey walnut shrimp, Mongolian beef, and sweet piggy buns. But their carby items like soup dumplings and spicy pork wontons were hands down my favorites. I think there was a little bit of sesame sauce in the wonton sauce which gave it an INSANE layer of flavor, like you NEED to try this. I always love trying new restaurants and I'm so happy there are more and more Chinese restaurants popping up in South OC. The manager was very friendly and conversed with us a lot. Once he found out I can speak Chinese, we were having a full on conversation like we're old friends. Cucumber salad was refreshing and crunchy with right amount of soy sauce. Chili wonton in garlic oil was tasty and it had good heat to it I ordered one basket of pork xlb and one basket of chicken xlb, both were good but it's not made in house so it's not the quality of handmade ones but it was juicy and flavorful. Chicken fried rice was well seasoned and tasted good. The dessert piggy buns were adorable and there were 2 sweet custard and 2 red bean flavors. Unfortunately you can't tell what the flavor is unless you take a bite. The food is authentic Chinese, not the Americanized Chinese type. We are always looking for places we haven't tried, so tonight we came to Min's. What a great idea! Despite its being a strip mall restaurant, the food and service are outstanding! We started with the Potato String Shrimp, which was the perfect mix of soft and crunchy. At $8.95 for 5 pieces, it was both delicious and a bargain. Next we tried the chicken Pot Stickers, another delicious dish well-priced at $12.95 for 8 pieces. The Cucumber Salad was perfectly dressed, and a nice bowl was only $6.95. Our main dish was Broccoli Beef, and the sauce was amazing! It's served with white rice. We also tried the Chicken Chow Mein, which was fine, but not as good as the other dishes, in our opinion. I happened across Min's Dumpling on a recent Yelp search, so we decided to drive south and visit their newly opened Mission Viejo location for lunch on a Sunday. We arrived shortly after they opened, so we beat the lunch crowd. Our server seated us at a table and she instructed us to order and pay at the corner. The Min's Dumpling menu offers a sizable selection of Chinese dishes, but we decided on ordering our perennial favorites like Scallion Pancakes, Classic Pork Soup Dumplings, Pork Wonton with Chili Sauce and Pork Pot Stickers. We were all hungry, so these dishes really hit the spot. My only negative feedback was that the Classic Pork Soup Dumplings were nothing to write home about, so I probably wouldn't order them again. For dessert, we enjoyed the yellow egg custard filling of their Sweet Piggy Buns...they were not only delicious but made for such a cute photo opp! We visited here a couple of weeks ago. It's in the location that used to be the Empanada Man. It was so nice to have a nearby place that has tasty dumplings. The rest of the menu is a little limited, but there are a lot of dumpling style items to order from. We all enjoyed our food and there's a cute robo cart that they used on and off to deliver our plates to us. The location is small and rather casual, but so great for a quick and tasty lunch. Great reviews so thought we would try this place. we ordered 2 entrees and 3 orders of dumplings so that we would also have some food for the next day. it was $100 for all that, which seems like a lot for a ordering at a kiosk. It was a little better than a panda express but not by much. The dumplings were good, not freshest, but good. The beef/brocolli was good, not amazing, but good. The Kung Pao Chicken was almost all onions and maybe 4-5oz of chicken which was disappointing and more onions than anything else. Located on La Paz just East of the 5 freeway.. in the Starbucks shopping center this is well worth trying in my opinion. Formerly Empanada store it's set up and ready to go. You can order from the electronic ordering center to the left of the door or you can order from the counter. Service was great for us.. I think it was the owner who took our order. Nice gentleman who is happy to answer any questions. We tried the orange chicken which comes with rice.. fantastic.! We also tried the chicken fried rice and the soup dumplings... all were delicious and we can't wait to try more items from the menu. There is seating in back just past the kitchen so if the tables look full don't worry, you can sit in the back area.
