Here at Min's for the first time. I am vegetarian, and lo and behold they have options! I order veggie chow mein and veggie steamed dumplings. The moment I saw my chow mein, I said to my self "whoa, this might be a yelp review moment!" Then I took a bite and was like "YES! FINALLY! Real Chow Mein!" The noodles are the veggies were perfectly cooked, tasted incredible and I felt good, too! 5 stars! Veggie dumplings, without any sauce, were clearly fresh and handmade and totally radical! I ordered delivery last night and overall, everything tasted good. The pork soup dumplings were my least favorite -- the wrappers were a bit too doughy and there wasn't much broth inside. But I liked the dipping sauce with it. I really enjoyed the BBQ pork buns, especially since they didn't have any fatty pieces like some places do. Halloween night and we wanted to go out. A friend saw an advertising for this restaurant so we said let's give it a try. What an excellent experience! He started with cucumber salad, which is very tasty. We moved to probably my favorite thing. potato string shrimp.... So yummy sauce on the inside, crispy on the outside. And then have chicken potstickers which were glad you had a little bit of soup on the inside so they were juicy. We wanted a house fried rice/chow mein but they don't make them. I would suggest that to be added to the menu so people could taste both but still pay for a full order. The chicken chow mein was good. The beef and broccoli was so tasty. It came with white rice and made a lovely addition to our meal. Definitely leftovers for us to take home. Server was Tommy. He was very nice. He told us he is opening two more restaurants, one out in Rancho Santa Margarita soon. Location is good. It's on La Paz on the freeway. I would recommend this restaurant. I will definitely return. Ambience is a typical strip restaurant. I have to say I've never seen so much take out from a restaurant as we sat here which is great. I was excited to find this place on Yelp. Unfortunately my experience didn't match the reviews I found. The food was overpriced for the serving size of each entree and the bowls of rice portions were tiny. :-/ for a family of three we paid almost $100 with barely any leftovers. And we ate light! The orange chicken which is considered one of their popular dishes was super dry, maybe overcooked. The potato shrimp which was about $2 a piece was tasty but the shrimp inside them was disappointingly barely there and dry. The chicken dumplings were sadly lacking in flavor, thicker wrapping at the top, and pricey for the portion size. Perhaps we paid for the location and not necessarily the quality of the food. I like the idea of seeing new Asian food establishments but this one needs some improvement. I will say that customer service at this location was good though and the restaurant is very clean. I'm not sure that I'll revisit though. read more

Just came for lunch here yesterday when they opened. Such a great restaurant! Can order at the counter or use the screens to order your food. There's a lunch special, but we chose to try out a lot of their tasty dumpling options. We ordered a scallion pancake, steamed pork buns, xiao long bao, pork and shrimp siu mai, and Mongolian beef. The service was kind, helpful, and patient while my party decided what they all wanted at the counter. When we got to our table it was clean and even though we got there at open it was already pretty busy! There are plenty of table to accommodate large parties or even families and teams. We have DoorDashed from here several times and finally made it in for a meal in person. The server cleaned the table when we walked in, but yet it was incredibly sticky and everything was getting stuck to it. We ordered on the screen while we waited for the table to be cleaned for us. The food was mediocre at best. The chicken XLBs were the best dish we got. The tofu mapo coated our mouths with a weird taste. The chicken potstickers came out burnt. The broccoli beef was okay. My husband finished his water and asked the server if he could get a refill, pointing to the water dispenser. She told him it's up to him, but that she would serve him and never refilled any of our water cups. One of my kids accidentally spilled their water on the table and when the server came by with one of our dishes, she just looked at our table puzzled and asked what happened. She didn't offer any extra napkins or to help clean it up. Maybe we should have stuck to DoorDash, but I don't think we'll be coming back. read more

There's been an uptick in Chinese cuisine in south Orange County and we've started to try some of the locations based on Yelp reviews. We keep hoping not to have to travel north to get so solid food. We tried Min's new location. It fell far short for us. The service was nice, but we weren't a fan of the cook taking a smoke break right near the entrance outside the large view windows. While I get smoke breaks happen in a lot of restaurants, we really don't want to watch it while we eat the food prepared with tobacco hands. The food was really just bland and over priced. An example is 7 dollars for some blah scallion pancakes that probably cost 30cents in ingredients. Do yourself a favor and just get the Trader Joe's brand at home, they taste better and cost far less per pancake. It very much tasted like Chinese food geared for "American" tastes. To get any sort of flavor you needed to drowned the food in sauce. The veggie egg rolls were mushy inside and tasted more like blended ingredients and not fresh. The insects on the table and the filthy bathrooms in such a new place say a lot about this location. The only saving grace was the fried rice... but not worth the stop. While we wanted to love this place, it's a big skip and try some where else for us. We want big authentic flavors that make Chinese food so desirable! Who knows... maybe someday we'll try it again... but this visit left us wanting our money back. read more

count 'em, 9 shrimps in the honey walnut shrimp. i got them with the lunch bento box special for $15.95 (plus tax). it's super that i could pick from any main entree to accompany the steamed rice and cucumber salad in the bento box. no surcharge for shrimp, even though on the main menu it's $3 more. lunch special runs from 11am-2:30pm mondays to fridays. i can't say how many more shrimp would come with the main entree. #ymmv your mileage may vary. i know this is a dumpling house and i'm sure that is delicious too, but i'm on a keto diet, so that means avoiding carbs whenever i can. read more
