The most or least popular place in town -- depending on your POV.
    Paul F H.

It's hard to ignore the political implications of a micro-brewery that makes Biden Beer, AOC IPA, Mandela Mash, Bernie Brew, Tammy Shandy, Ever's Ale, ,la, Fair Maps IPA and "Choice" hard seltzers. Many will trash a business like this in their reviews strictly on the basis of their politics. Others will praise it for the same reason. But what about the product? Isn't that the most important thing? At the Minocqua Brewing Company the politics AND the beer are "the product." Just think about the names of their beers -- and look at the murals on their building -- there's no doubt about the company's intentions. If one doesn't care for either component of the product--especially the politics--then just spend your money elsewhere -- And be honest about it in your negative Yelp review! If one supports the politics--the beverages are worth buying even if you find them underwhelming. Personally, I'm on totally board with their politics AND I find the beer to be quite good -- so for me supporting the Minocqua Brewing Company and enjoying their beer is something that I'm happy to do -- and I recommend that like minded folks do the same. BTW -- for those who support MBC vr. OBNoM in the SLAPP suit against MBC, you can visit the MBC blog and contribute to their legal defense fund.

Had family visiting this week so after a few hours of shopping and lunch, we stopped in for a beer. I love this building which I believe is on the National Register of Historic Places. We enjoyed our beers in the new beer garden. Nice shade and a breeze made for an enjoyable stop before heading home. You rock, Kirk and staff!!

It's hot out, but this is the spot if you need a "cold one." I prefer the Tammy Shandy because who doesn't love a shandy in the summer?!?

When my college buddy is in town for a visit we always like to hit up one of the local breweries…read more The Rhinelander Brewing Company is one that we hadn't yet been to, so the last time he was here we decided to give it a try. They offer everything one would expect from a small craft brewery, both in terms of style and pour sizes -- everything from tastes, to flights, to small seven ounce pours (shorties), to a full pint. I had shortie pours of their lager and IPA. The lager was light and refreshing but not thin and watery (think "lite beer"). The IPA was lightly hopped compared to many IPAs on the market these days -- which I thought was good -- one can taste and enjoy the hops without being overpowered by them. The taproom is located in a storefront on the downtown main street. The decor has an "up north vibe" but I wouldn't say it is attractive or coherent in style. There's a bunch of historical memorabilia on display hearkening back to the old days when every town had its own local brewery -- which in this town was (of course) The Rhinelander Brewery. The staff was friendly and could readily talk about their products. The Rhinelander Brewery is not that much different from hundreds of other small craft brew taprooms around the country, so I'll stick with three stars, which for me means average -- but totally acceptable -- in terms of everything one would expect from an establishment like this. Every town should have a place like this.

Feels more like a clothing store than a brewery taproom. The beers is average. Nothing was stood…read moreout to me. Nice history of the original Rhinelander brewery. One is like a small museum. It's right downtown. Street parking. Very small brewery.
