I would give them negative stars if I could! Two years ago, I asked for a summer cleaning and agreed to purchase a remote monitoring system that was supposed to constantly inform them of the condition of my HVAC system and have them right there is something went wrong. Paid over $1,200 for it! Each month I got a couple of emails telling me everything was OK. That was until my system blew up. I never got a call or a notice that my system had an issue or was even offline! They took my $1,200 and sent me a couple of useless emails and that was it and my AC until was smoking in the back and they were clueless. I called and told them my system was toast (which they should have known and told ME about) they kind of shrugged and came and gave me an estimate for over $14,000 for a new AC unit! Still no word on why the ultra-modern monitoring system didn't tell anyone. I went with a Carrier system from Costco for about $6,000 after rebates and discounts... the best decision ever! I called to have Minniks to come and hook up the monitoring system again ... no callback, no word ... nothing. As in NOTHING. I pretty much wrote off the $1,200 (anybody got that kinda cash to flush?) but now no one wants to touch my furnace because of the rat's nest of wires and sensors Minniks installed! Something just came up with my AC here in July. Appears to be with the wiring (who woulda thunk it!). I called their after-hours "Emergency" number at 9:30 PM. It's now 11:53 PM and no one called back. When I called their "answering service" back after two hours, they pretty much said, "Yeah. No idea why the tech on call didn't get back to you but, nobody's gonna call you back tonight. Maybe in the morning." I'll call them in the AM. Why do I think they're going to charge me several hundred bucks to put my system back the way it was? Should I let them? Do NOT .. NOT do business there. read more

Minnicks is no Longer !! Now F.H. Furr and kinda mad at both but F.H. Furr is robbing and rapping without a gun !! Run and Rin fast !! Paid 12k to Minnick in 2018 for a new unit and last year had to spend 600 on charging system !! They didn't check for issues or leaks. Yesterday system was short cycling and not cool found out they now F.H Furr. Had me down for 10 to 11 didn't show up. Called at almost most 1 told me 30 min took another hour. Paid 222 minus a $75 credit for them being late for leak check found coil leak on basically new unit. Told me I was still under warranty and only had to pay labor and suck. Came back with a $2400 bill !!! Basically trying to charge me for a coil that is free under my warranty plus labor and such like we are dumb or it's a racial thing or just because it's what they do to folks and as a new customer taking over one that basically let me down and trying to build a reputation you just killed it !!!. read more

Minnicks, you can't go wrong . Had a new HV/AC system installed in 2018. Couldn't have asked for a better company to deal with and an outstanding team of technicians. Theses techs were extremely thorough and worked in harmony to get the job done in a timely manner . Made sure I was walked through the operations of the new system before they left. Never felt rushed . Recently had an issue at my mothers condo where water was involved. Minnicks was quick to respond and had a tech out the next morning. I've had Steven as my tech a number of times and have always had honest and professional work done. Minnicks is the way to go read more

Minnick's used to be reliable, but no more. Despite being long term customers, it took almost a week for us to get on their schedule, and then they were no-shows several times. What's worse is that they did not contact us to let us know they weren't coming. We had to call them multiple times; they didn't have answers and didn't seem particularly interested in getting us answers. They then used our unavailability during one proposed substitute window as suggesting their unexcused no-shows were somehow our fault. Poor customer service. Won't be using them again. read more

This company used to be great, responsive, and reliable even though it was a pricier than other options. Not anymore. A few years ago I paid about $17k for a new furnace and hot water heater. A few weeks ago I had no hot water. I had to wait nearly a week for an appointment. The technician fixed what he thought was the problem ($650 charge) and it worked fine for about 2 weeks then stopped working again. I called and made an appointment for 2 pm. At 4 pm they called and said they couldn't make it. They were going to have me be the first appointment for the next day I was available. The appointment window was 8-11 am. At 11 am I called. They assured me I was the next appointment and that they should arrive in the hour. At 4 pm they called to say they lost the part they needed and had to reorder it. I asked if they could do another temporary fix so we would have hot water while waiting for the part. They said they would call back but never did. Today I called to ask about the status. They said they would call back shortly but never did. I called again and got an answering service with another promise for a return call that still has not happened. read more

Minnick's refused to honor my parts warranty with Carrier. My motor fan broke on my heat pump and I got Minnick's name from the Carrier website. When I mentioned my warranty with Carrier, the technician told me to work it out with Carrier. Carrier says they don't deal with end customers and the dealer should have handled it. I called Minnick's "customer service" several times and never got a call back. This cost me several hundred dollars! read more

We had duct work installed in our basement to increase circulation. Zack and Charlie were great. They were very professional and extremely knowledgeable. I commented on how young they were with so much experience. You will not be disappointed. They were very thorough and came prepared. They wore shoe covers as not to track dirt in my home. They added a vent on my wall, looked as though it had always been there. They were able to custom fit the duct work above our heating unit and around other existing duct work. They did an excellent job. They were very polite and well mannered. I would highly recommend them for any ductwork job. read more

One of the worst customer services I've ever gotten, ever! I scheduled for a time frame, got a confirmation email and they never showed up, the entire day. Called back next morning and repeated the same thing 2 more days! Enough was enough, and we called someone else. I'm not gonna spend my days waiting around for someone who is a continues no show for 3 days, I have a life and other things to do, and if they think they can expect to treat their customers this way, then they've got another thing coming, especially its tough enough to run a business and earn customers! I am writing this to warn people of this unscrupulous company that thinks it's ok to take advantage of elderly people. My heat stopped working and I called GAC, they sent Minnicks HVAC. I was at work, so my parents dealt with them. This guy proceeded to tell my parents that my 9 year old furnace needed to be totally replaced, it's not up to code..blah, blah. I got an estimate from them.....$11,434!!! Total Bullshit, they were trying to take advantage of my parents. I called another company (Honest Air), and his quote was under $4,000. I used Minnicks loyally for years since they installed HVAC equipment associated with an air quality study I participated in. I was always shocked at the high prices they charged, but believed I was getting good customer service and above standard card for my units. This year, they came out and told me I needed $2,400 worth of work on my two AC units. I paid for the work and was then told they are still in bad shape, and the rep tried to sell me 4K more in service to the units - I could have purchased two new units at that point. I then (don't ask why) asked them to come and service my AC in a condo I own. They made an appointment, reminded me through text/email/phone call about it for a week, and then the day came for the appointment. I took the day off for their 5 hour visit window. When it got close to the end of the window, they called me and said the tech was running late and they would be arriving late/outside the window. I continued to wait until the end of the day when I was called and told no one would come. I asked that they reschedule and waive the visit fee next time (89$) obviously I would pay for any work associated with the service. I was told no, never got a call back when I requested one from management, and sent a formal complaint to which I received no response. After giving this business thousands of dollars of work over the years, completely shocking that they would treat a customer this way. But the more I reflect, the more I realize I was probably getting taken advantage of all the way along. I would not recommend this business to others and suggest if you are using them to find another company. read more

Was using them to take advantage of a Pepco maintenance rebate. Instead I was told my four year old unit was only running at 50% efficiency and proceeded to upsell a variety of other products and services...none of which actually addressed the issue. When I pressed for more details about my apparently failing unit, I was put off and never received a response. A second call to a different contractor revealed my unit was running perfectly. read more

We are unhappy Minnick customers. We found them overpriced and the front office, beyond the receptionist, disrespectful. They said it would cost $1000 to check two circuit boards on an existing PTAC unit that wasn't heating. Suggesting we buy a new unit, they charged us $2900 for a new Amana PCT153G50 unit, that took them all of 30 minutes to install, literally pulling the old unit out and sliding the new unit in. No retrofit, no new sleeve, no new outside grill, no drain package. When we found that that unit lists on-line for $800-$1000, we called to voice our concern. We were 'promised' a call back from the leadership team which we never received. read more

I called out Minnick's to get a second opinion for our AC unit. Was getting the run around from another company. They came out right away- texted and emailed to let me know they were on their way. They were honest and professional. Excellent customer service- explained everything that was going on with my unit and did not pressure me to switch over to them or try to sell me anything extra. Carrier Infinity system gave an error message, System Malfunction, and chose Minnick's based on Carrier website listing and Yelp ratings. Minnick's technician Greg was timely, efficient in reading codes on the thermostat, checking all wiring which is the indicator, and explaining the potential issues. Could be the PEPCO efficiency add on installed this year to regulate electricity usage. Couldn't ask for better service on this issue. read more

Very expensive and have not had luck with them fixing problems.

Minnick's did a great job converting my oil system to electric. They installed a new heat pump, new electric furnace and redid some duct work in basement to improve airflow. With our old system, our upstairs would always be hot and muggy and now it feels great. Steven and Anthony were the techs on my job and they we very professional and neat. This was a two day project and each day they arrived on time and would leave the house neater than they found it. They literally show up to your door with their own floor mat lay it down and stand on it while they put on shoe protectors. They also coordinated with another company to remove my old oil tank at no cost (just the remaining oil) - I am glad to get rid of that. Before this project, I used them to get a new hot water (converting from oil to electric) that was also a great experience. read more

I contacted Minnick's and asked for the cost of diagnosing the issue with my air conditioner. The young lady told me it was $89. That was reasonable, considering the other places I called said $100+. When the tech arrived at my home and began the work, he asked me if I was aware of the $89 fee. I told him I was. Next, he asked if I was aware of the additional $189 fee for the diagnostic. I certainly was NOT! I called the office and spoke with Rachel who told me I had the right to decline the service if I didn't agree with his price. Are you kidding me?! I took time off from my job to meet him, based solely on the quote of $89. She also told me the techs set the diagnostic price based on what's required to diagnose the issue. This means you're blindly going into an agreement for service. On top of this, I hadn't received the emailed copy of the invoice. Rachel emailed it and ensured I would receive the $89 dispatch fee as a refund. I still end up paying much more than anticipated, because my $89 fee turned into $247!! It's now 3 days later and no refund is in my bank account. These people are liars and only want your money. Stay away!!! read more

Knowledgeable, good people; they show up on time, and the tech's actually understand what they are doing. However they seriously over-charged for certain parts - I needed a 24v transformer for our whole house humidifier they were hooking up; the unit didn't ship with one and the technician just "happened" to have a very special transformer (lol) for our unit...he charged me $250.00 for what was a $30-$35 part...Sadly I needed to get all this wrapped up as he was servicing both our furnaces; I just said get it all done with. Everything works, great and the tech did great work; my only rub was the ridiculous price they charged for the transformer, oh well...Could have been a 5 star review, but it what it is.... Also it seems a lot of places are pushing maintenance agreements on just about everything; i'm all for saving a buck for repairs - but my furnaces were 6 months old and I didn't think I needed a $700.00 maintenance agreement to help save me 15%-20% per repair.... read more
