During the crisis, he began engaging in self-injurious behaviors, including hitting himself, yelling, and becoming physically dysregulated. His staff immediately stepped in to help keep him and others safe, but the situation escalated to the point that they called me to assist. I arrived and immediately implemented his crisis protocol to help de-escalate him. As a parent of a child with severe autism, I have unfortunately experienced many situations where people either do not understand autism, become frustrated, or simply do not know how to respond. Too often, families are met with judgment rather than support. Valeria, the store manager, completely changed that experience for us. She showed compassion, understanding, and professionalism in a moment that was incredibly stressful for our family. She helped make the area safe, redirected customers so we had room and privacy to support my son, and repeatedly checked in to ask if we needed anything. She never made us feel like a burden or an inconvenience. I cannot put into words how much that meant to me. In one of our hardest moments, she showed humanity and kindness. Autism awareness and understanding matter, and yesterday Valeria demonstrated exactly what that looks like. Thank you, Valeria. You left me speechless, and I will never forget the compassion you showed my son and our family.

I know that comes from management, but they have the customer at the register and then tell them "if you spend $5 more you will get this (whatever it is)... " then the customer leaves and starts shopping around the store to spend that much more. They don't take more customers. A lot of the time these are kids. They don't understand what you're saying. These one kids kept thinking she was telling them to pick a shirt for free. Huge line is forming and they are still waiting for these customers to come back to the register. It's ridiculous. Thank goodness one kid who was waiting for her friends to come back told the cashier to take the next person in line while she waited. Which was us. This is what they should do all of the time. When I got up there, of course she was trying to do the same thing to me. She asked, I automatically said no. She kept asking. I kept saying no. She was like, if you spend this you can get a $15 coupon or some amount. I said, no. Wouldn't you know it, once I paid and was leaving she said "oh I forgot to give you this", same coupon and I didn't spend anything extra. It's slow, this store is always slow. I understand telling people about the promotion, but each customer takes like 10 mins if not more. They need to figure out a better way to do this.

My only gripe is how MESSY an USED the makeup were -- I didnt find any lip products and powders I liked because they were all smashed up, or someone had opened them before I arrived. This Daiso Location checked off all boxes! I didn't expect to go in and was pleasantly surprised by all the cute goodies I found with shelves full of everything I wanted and everything I didn't need. Gone are the days where you could come out of die so with bags full for less than $100. My local shop tends to be trashed and have low inventory, but this location was a pleasant surprise! I wait for about 10mins and no one comes out of the other restroom. I go back to shop and I hear the manager Ruby open the locked door to use that locked restroom (which I assume is clean). I wait again, another 10mins for her to come out so I can use the restroom. She stays in there and proceeds to use the phone. I can hear the entire conversation. Not sure why she flushed the toilet 7x, probably to pretend she was actually using the bathroom instead of being on the phone. She finally comes out so I try and use the restroom and she proceeds to tell me that bathroom is for employees only. I was a retail manager for years. Not once did I ever think to lock a door so customers couldn't use the bathroom. It didn't say "employees only" or anything either. And being on the phone for 10mins???? Aren't you on the clock?
