A quick heads-up: the walls aren't floor-to-ceiling, so you can occasionally hear ambient noise from the hallway. However, it's a minor trade-off and very typical for similar boutique spas in the mid-peninsula. In terms of cost, prices are consistent with the area -- not the lowest, but a great value given the quality. I have never had anything less than a stellar massage here, whereas other local spots can be hit or miss. If you want consistency, this is the place.

Luckily I came out of it with bruised bones / road rash and nothing broken and no internal trauma. Ever since the accident I have had issues with my right shoulder, especially as I work with my hands as a auto/motorcycle mechanic and maintenance mechanic for industrial coffee equipment like roasters & grinders as well as side work doing fabrication / repairs etc. I have really gnarly knots and issues in my right shoulder that require someone who basically is trying to kill me with their elbows, but knows what they are doing. Here is how the massages have gone with their respective names. Mia - Really great massage that is fairly strong. She was able to recognize fairly quickly that the center of my back just below my neck and along the left side of my shoulder blade has knots. She spent some time working on it and was very good. Spent equal time around the rest of my back as well. Eva - One of the partners of the shop who has 15+ years of experience. Sometimes when you get a massage it is obvious its a bit like rewatching a movie. Same movements, same pattern, over and over with no particular attention to detail. Eva is exactly OPPOSITE of this. Think of a specialty trained sniper honing in on a target from miles away. That is Eva. She immediately found the knots, bad shoulder etc. She asked me about it and I was able to convey all the issues. She also speaks the best English out of everyone else I have tried if you need to clearly convey an issue. She really knows what she is doing and was able to break up the problems really really well. Not quite as strong as the others, but that doesn't matter based on her technical skill. Really really excellent. Gina - I have been getting massages since about 2008ish. Hands down, without a doubt with only 1 exception via someone who left the industry Gina is the strongest person I have ever received a massage from. I have had a lot of walking on back massages that add pressure, but Gina was able to apply more force via her elbows bending over me from the side of the table than anyone who has walked on my back. She is not as technically skilled as Eva, but the strength is amazing. Now what is REALLY cool about this place is Eva's flexibility with my admittedly poor time management. I get 2 hour massages and recently specifically requested Gina due to her strength. She wouldn't be available until later, but I was in a time crunch. Eva who remembered me from a past visit offered to perform the first hour then let Gina take over the 2nd hour. So I got sniper Eva who worked out the fine details, then Gina at the end to use her Thor's hammer strength to finish the job. A last detail here. The showers are actually clean and nice. I like to get all the oil off of me at the end of a massage. I don't mind oil in a massage, but I hate feeling oily after. Some places I have been in have a shower that looks like its owned by a frat house. Mold, soap scum, a mildew smell, disgusting. When I had my first shower here a candle was lit, I was given a fresh towel, and everything was stocked and clean. Water is blisteringly hot too which is fantastic. No need for me to try new places. The only other place I would recommend at this point is Avee 9 in Redwood City due to the skill level of their walking on back massages using oil. That's a super hard technique to perform and they nail it. It is noisy there though and no shower. I moved from Redwood City to South San Francisco, thus why I gave comfort pro a shot. 10/10 would recommend. Haven't had a bad experience yet.

I don't think I'd come here for couple massages or a "luxurious typical relaxing" experience, I'd come here for a truly relaxing massage that'll help heal your body. Let me start by saying Shirley's massage Studio is very peaceful with high ceilings, lovely decorative touches and is painted in soothing colors. The soft music she plays in the background is very relaxing. Shirley is petite, but very strong and her massage techniques really helped to work out some serious knots and kinks that I had been storing up in my body. I know she is trained in a variety of massage techniques, but I requested a 90 minute, very deep one & she delivered. Not only was the massage phenomenal, but the additional touches of hot stones, as well as hot towels used to soothe & then remove oils as she finished each area, we're unexpected and contributed to the lovely experience. For about 30 years. I have enjoyed many excellent therapeutic massages over the years. I have also tried several of the many Thai massage businesses here in mid-Peninsula SF Bay Area. In my experienced and considered opinion, Sila Thai is a standout. Not only the quality of massage but also the location (quiet street off El Camino with plenty of parking) and the lovely room. Instead of lying on a mat on the floor--and getting stuffy-nosed when face down--and hearing other clients just a few feet away, this facility is truly quiet as a tomb. There are other spa-type services on that floor but the rooms are well-insulated and the hall is carpeted. In fact, I had long lamented losing touch with Sila Thai massage therapist Manee. She had left the business I previously frequented and I didn't know where she went. I had found her far superior to any other Thai--or any style--massage I've ever had. And I am serious. She even teaches others. While I can say that I've had only one "bad" Thai massage here, I can also say that most left me relaxed with some improvement in muscle tension and some left me incredibly sore, with the muscle tension that had apparently been worked out returned the next day--along with soreness. Now, I cannot believe my good fortune that I can travel less than a mile and benefit from her work. I don't know quite how exactly to describe the difference with Manee. For one, she is very kind, intelligent, experienced, and knows musculature and body mechanics. She also speaks English very well. For another, she is very focused. Her mind is obviously not elsewhere; it is solely on helping me and giving it her all. Recently, I had 3 months of physical therapy for two "swimmer's shoulders." It helped. Somewhat. But, perhaps because I had been living in pain for so long, I did not realize how much better it could be. Now I am not claiming that Manee is a miracle worker. But I will say that two hours with her gave me more relief (permanent relief) than 3 months of physical therapy (with a very experienced PT). I am so grateful. Another huge advantage of Sila Thai is the unique setup: A traditional Swedish-style massage table with the Thai supports overhead (for Traditional Thai massage). I regret that my camera could not capture the ceiling as well. Actually, the table only looks and feels traditional. It is actually a top-of-the-line table with a pneumatic pump (for raising and lowering) that is affixed to the floor for stability. This is very important to accommodate the stretching maneuvers. I cannot overstate my appreciation for Sila Thai.
