After being gone for a long period of time I returned to find everything in my storage unit covered in Mouse urine and feces. I tried to salvage things but I've had to throw away so much. I have been paying for this storage since around 2016. They were hired to keep my belongings safe but instead it all needs to be Destroyed. The day after trying to clean up the unit and see what can be salvaged I got very sick. It was severe and It was even painful to breath and move. I had to go to the emergency room twice, be put on antibiotics and pumped full of fluids. The first time at the hospital I didn't mention the infestation I had been cleaning up but after still feeling sick I started looking for other possible reasons and went back to the emergency room when I was having a very hard time breathing to find out I had bronchitis. I'm not saying that it was caused by the Mice droppings but the Dr. said it was a strong possibility. Now I'm afraid to go back into the storage unit and this Facility is absolutely no help. You would think that they wouldn't want a unit that they KNOW had an infestation to be just festering. I have no idea how to clean it safely and honestly don't believe I should have to. I have paid THOUSANDS of dollars to have my stuff stored safely here to now need to destroy it all. They told me that I can file a claim (for all the things I haven't already gotten rid of) but that will take a while and it will not really cover much. I can only imagine how bad all the other storage units around me are. I wonder how many others are going to be in for a horrible surprise. So I'm not local and they told me that they have a $250 cleaning fee if you leave the unit with things left inside. so I said Okay I'll pay it. They then said that isn't how it works. If I don't take everything out and clean the health hazard unit then it goes to collections, late fees get added on until the auction and then whatever the auction doesn't cover also goes to collections with an additional $250 feel for the cleaning. So Now they got me for another month and I'm going to try to get out there. But I've lost so much money having to buy all new stuff for my new place and now having to buy a plane ticket to clean it out and get sick again upsets me. I asked if there were services to come clean it out and the manager said the We haul junk people do it. But that's just an additional fee that I'm going to have to pay. Don't put yourself in my situation . Please Go somewhere else. There is a Storage Place across the Street that is much more secure and clean.
