We had a Groupon for the Wine dinner, however there was a bit of confusion with our reservation. The reservation was made for a Date Night dinner, when I realized this they said we could use our Wine Groupon for the date night. The Wine dinner Groupon was significantly more expensive than the Date Night Groupon, but they went out of their way to make it right. We had an amazing meal , our server Mackenzie was fabulous. The experience from start to finish was great! Highly recommend taking the time to make this a destination stop! Thank you again to the GM and Mackenzie for making this a great night!! Exciting menu, nice atmosphere and huge portions! HUGE portions! They only serve wine and alcohol that they make onsite. Two of us had two of their mixed drinks concoctions and they were really good. For food I got the venison burger with cheese curds (love that curds are a side option that DON'T cost more.) The burger was massive and the curds were tasty. I could only finish half of my meal. My fiancé got the duck mac and cheese. It was very rich in flavor. My mom got a salad that looked delicious too! Everyone was incredibly happy with the food but the service was SLOW! It's a new place so they are still working out the kinks but once they can get the service down it will be a good one for Monroe. read more

We had an excellent experience tonight, both food and service. We dined outside, dine it was a gorgeous day, and although our server got a workout from the stairs, she was appropriately attentive, and our drinks, appetizer and entrees arrived in a reasonable time. The food was very good, but the portions were so large that most of us requested boxes--dinner tomorrow night is taken care of. I'll be going back, because there are a lot of things on the menu that look interesting--including the dessert menu!! read more

Everything, including (maybe especially?) the service was top-notch. The chef came out and checked on us. Everything was delightful! I will not bash the establishment or distillery by any means. But when there was a minor issue with the food the "Executive Chef, Trisha" felt it was necessary to come to the table and be-little me in front of the entire party about Cheese curds and how they are cooked and what they are cooked in. After she hovered by the table and making my entire party uncomfortable she refused to make a new appetizer. After 30 minutes of uncomfortable starring from the chef, we felt it necessary to leave. An ambitious menu, probably too ambitious. I ordered the blackened pheasant breast. It was overcooked and far from blackened. I have more spice in the crevice between the counter and the stove. My plate arrived 10 minutes after my wife's dinner. Had they pulled the pheasant in order to serve us at the same time, it would have been perfect. And we weren't the only ones. The table next to us enjoyed a delayed delivery of their second plate as well. In fact, before we left, their plate never came and they decided to just share one meal. No hostess. No structure. The wait staff has a lot to learn. She tried, but she was hampered by the kitchen. And our ticket was wrong. We had two drinks each, but were only charged for one. We also were trying to pay for drinks for a couple we knew, but those weren't on the tab either. And the restaurant is too small for the space it's in, and the tables make no sense. In fact, we watched at least two tables that they tried to sit elderly women at, but they couldn't get into the picnic style tables. They ended up on the back patio, and as we were leaving they still didn't have their food. Honestly we love Minhas ... But this place falls far short of the Minhas standard. The wine tasting was good, the New York strip hoagie were pretty greasy and kind of rich . The service was crappy. Our waiter barely checked in, we had to ask for a food menu, napkins and the bill. The customer service with our waiter was horrible. The chef actually filled up our water glasses and brought out the meal. Thet need to work on customer service skills. It was so good!! Atmosphere wasn't quite what we were expecting, but food was great. We got the dragon shrimp which was amazing- get it!!!!! We also got the spring rolls, which were really good, but the sauce needed to be thinned out a bit. The sour cream potato wedges were so good too, another must have. We had the Korean tacos, I really like them, but they were just fine toy husband. The salmon BLT was also incredibly good. Absolutely LOVED this gem of a place! Our server Tracey went above & beyond to make our experience great! We originally went there for just a tasting. All the wines were fantastic. Tracey definitely knew her wines & guided us in better choices once we said we liked or didn't like something. We then ordered the cheese, meat & cracker boards. We asked to see a menu & stayed for a meal! Delicious! I had the seafood mac, which was outstanding. My group had the ribeye (cooked perfectly), swordfish & duck mac. Absolutely NO complaints from anyone, & we can be some picky eaters. Highly recommend the cheese curds & the banging shrimp as an appetizer. We will be coming again & asking for Tracey! read more

I keep going back! The pear and apple wine is very tasty. Whiskey poutine is our favorite appetizer and we can't stop eating it. I've had good experience with their burgers, salmon, and pizza but I keep going back for their absolutely incredible duck mac and cheese. It's delectable, rich, comfort food. This was a huge disappointment. 3 person staff... we had a table of 6 ... no sense of urgency. Maybe 12 people in the whole restaurant. We had to go to the bar for drinks. We had to go to the host/hostess station for service. Staff was rude. No silverware. No water. Might as well been self service. Non apologetic when confronted. This place is surprisingly good. Minhas seems to do a little of everything-brewery, winery, distillery, and now kitchen. The menu has some surprisingly high-end choices. I had the duck confit mac and cheese, which was amazing. Every plate is served as though it's a piece of art, which also adds to the experience. They have meals ranging from about $10 to over $100, so you're sure to find something you like. Also, try some of the in-house whiskey; it's got a kick! read more

We took in tje Minhad Kitchen tonight. Arrived about 6pm to find we were the only couple/people there, a bit disconcerting. This restaurant has been open a few months now and is in a small town of about 10,000 people so it is well known in Monroe. Okay, so on with the review; first the good. The food was very good. All fresh ingredients. We had the seafood bisque in the cup size for about 3 dollars. The helping was very large - more like a bowl size - and fabulous. I would order it again and again. We also had a burger, the Blumer Burger, named after a Prohibition Era owner of the brewery asdociated eith the restaurant. The burger came with a vhoice of sides and we had the onion rings whivh were real and very good. By the way we split the burget as it was huge it was cooked med rare and with bacon, a great cheese and a very good sauce. My partner could not eat her half and brought it home. Now the bad. When we came in the music was very loud C and W. Now i listen to country all the time but this was too much and way too loud. We mentioned it and they changed the music to smooth jazz which was much more appropriate for eating. Another noise issue wss from the stsff. The kitchen was about as far away as you can get from our table but the the loud talk and laughing was very annoying. The waitress was very good and attentive (but remember we were the only patrons at the time). We did have to ask for napkins when the bisque arrived and did not get one until the burger was served. Finally (whew) i will say the place seemed cold, overlighted, sterile and loud. It is styled in the "industrial" style that is very popular now but it is not at all conducive to fine evening dining. We had the burgers there Sat March 7th and they were great ! very juicy, juicy, juicy. With every bite the juice just flower down my fingers. finger licking great. I ordered medium and it came medium cooked. The steak and potato soup was also very good. Service was awesome. place was nice and clean. They do NOT serve beer. Mostly a wine and food restaurant. My husband and I stopped for lunch on a Saturday. We split the poutine, then ordered sandwiches. The portions were large and food was fresh. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. While this very charming rustic restaurant boast gourmet style food I was disappointed with our first time there. I ordered the Blumer Burger which I asked for the truffle aoli on the side and it was put on the burger then it said on the menu that it came with fried onions instead I got pickled red onions which I don't like. So I moved on to desert and was sorely disappointed with my favorite creme brulee the top was barely burleed the sugar was still grainy on top and the custard was not smooth but very grainy I kept eating it hoping it would get better since it was "Maple Creme Brulee" but no I ended up gaging it down towards the end. Also the wait for food was long so don't plan on being in a hurry. My husband wanted to take me here for our 35th anniversary but I'm glad we tested it out this last weekend it's a NO GO for us. Oh and not a single item offered is chicken my favorite protein. I hope this review assists the owners with upping their game for future patrons I would hate to see a restaurant fail and close. Maybe in time I'll give it another try. Oh and you BEER lovers they can't sell beer on that side of the street only wine and mixed drinks even though Monroe is known for craft beers. :( read more

I had a lot of fun at the paint and sip that was yesterday, however, I noticed that in the middle of the whole ordeal the manager just up and left. Then it was just the bartender and the poor waitress left to serve a whole restaurant full of people. That's not okay. If the manager needed to leave she needed a replacement to help with all of the people. I saw Minah"s winery and distillery on Groupon, and I have to say at first I was a little worried due to the pricing of the Groupon. But boy was I surprised. We called and scheduled the visit to the winery and has a great time. The facility was beautiful and the employees were awesome. I loved the tastes of the wine that was available. And even ending up purchasing two bottles to take home. Because we were from out of town and only there for a short amount of time, we were going to try to make it to the distillery but they stopped doing the tasting. So back to Monroe to Minah"s the next day. I loved the attitude of the mixers in the distillery. And for the price that I paid for the Groupon I was amazed by the quality of the drinks. We got three mixed drinks a piece and when we left we left with the two glasses that was used to drink out of and two bottles of 750ml of vodka. Well worth the price that I paid. Before we left we went back to the restaurant and enjoyed a good meal. We ordered the cheese curds, the sliders and the shrimp. And boy was it good. I will definitely go back when ever we visit WI. We all had a great meal, the service was great. I had the Salmon B.L.T., the salmon was amazing. My side salad was amazing. One of my sons had the venison burger, which he said was very good, not dry. My other son had a burger that was amazing. The Cheese curds were the best we ever had. My husband had a pasta meal and added pheasant, he was impressed. Great job, we will be back. My only criticism would be, when we entered the facility there was no one to greet us, we just stood at the bar area for 5 minutes, employees were hustling about around us. We had to ask if we were to sit our selves or what we were suppose to do. We were told to wait for someone to come get us. I know this is a new business and you are still figuring things out. Be careful. Minhas Kitchen is confused and needs mountains of help. We dined their second weekend of being open, which of course was risky. Unfortunately they made mistakes that go beyond being a new open. It all started out when we were seated at a table that had half it in the blinding sunlight and the front of the house manager guy said "guess you didn't get luck of the draw". Really? Customer service? Huh? And this is a place that has a $59 ribeye on the menu and many other items priced very high for the town of Monroe. The atmosphere is a joke. It would work if they served brats and burgers and kept their prices below 20 a plate. I can say the duck confit mac and cheese was well made, and the cheese curds were done right. I would not have put mayo as a dipping sauce with cheese curds - must be a 2017 Green County thing. Many of the dishes were bad and not cooked properly. The serving staff was unprepared. What's up with that smoked butter 'side'? Yikes! A "highlight" was when a drunk boom boom blonde pushed her way past us to check out the $18.95 bottles of wine with klassy names like Dragon's Tears Pineapple wine. I am afraid the sins were too many and Minhas Kitchen has a dim future. read more
