Chicken strips was good as well. Wisconsin poutine was my other item. It was flavorful. But saltier than I would like. Owner of Minhas Kitchen read this. Saturday, October 11th 2025 I called at 7 pm for takeout. I was told to hurry up and order as they wanted to close at 8 pm. (Your yelp hours are 9 pm) Fine. A bit rude but whatever. I order a salad and chicken wings. I was told 20 minutes. 15 minutes later I get a phone call saying they are out of wings. I call back and they told me they will not be making my food at all as the cook does not want to cook anymore and they are closing up now. If I wanted to I could come back tomorrow and order. Wow. It's like a child was left in charge of your resteraunt. She apparently had no control over the cook...and it did not seem like it was a big deal to her. I waited 2 days to write this review as I did not wish to be emotional. But the lack of professionalism is shocking. I realize this is a small town and getting any kind of help let alone actual people that take the tiniest amount of pride in their work must be difficult. But Taco Bell is capable of serving food until close. You hired worse than Taco Bell. read more

We were passing thru and I found this restaurant here on Yelp, and I am SOOO glad I did! We had a fabulous dinner! I ordered the chili with cornbread. It was smoky and rich, so the sweet tender cornbread on top was a nice complement! He had the beer cheese soup and it was very rich and creamy and delicious. I had mushroom lasagna. You could taste the freshness of the homemade pasta. It was tender and delicious! He had the shrimp pasta and again, it was mouth watering! Would definitely order again! Our server was timely, attentive, and friendly. The venue was easy to find. We found a fantastic table by the window and enjoyed an amazing and delicious Old Fashioned with a great view! We've been fans of Minhas for years. Last year about this time, there apparently was a change in management. Unfortunately, it shows. My wife and I ate here this afternoon. I ordered a pork tenderloin sandwich. My wife ordered salmon. Waitress came back and told us neither were available. I ordered a smash burger. My wife ordered the ribeye and asked for mushrooms. They were out of mushrooms. We ordered spicy shrimp for a starter. The most positive thing? The shrimp. Fat, juicy and perfectly cooked. The smash burger was fine. I'm not a fan of the smash burger trend. To me, it's just an easy way to overcook a burger. Yet. It is what it is. It was fine. (Fries were tasty.) Ribeye was ordered rare and came rare - a good thing. It was good. We asked for butter for the mashed potatoes. Waitress told us there's a lot of butter in the potatoes already. I took that as a no to additional butter. ### Not on the online menu is a list of BBQ items so we figured we'd get some to go for dinner. We ordered the BBQ sampler. The sampler features wings, brisket, barbecued pulled pork and smoked sausage. We ordered a piece of tiramisu to go as well. As we left, my wife realized the tiramisu was missing. "Oh, sorry about that. We're out of tiramisu." When we got home we opened the sampler. No wings. Apparently they were out of wings but didn't tell us. The sampler was 80% smoked sausage. Two small pieces of brisket. And a small scoop of pulled pork. A ton of smoked sausage. In conclusion, FIVE of the items we ordered were unavailable; pork tenderloin, salmon, mushrooms, chicken wings and tiramisu. We've raved about Minhas and have frequently taken friends here. If you are going to experience the Minhas trinity, then you are going to need food and why not dine at Minhas? :-) I really like this little restaurant in the Minhas campus. You can sample wine, craft cocktails or beer while sampling a pretty diverse menu, which includes really great pricing on daily specials. The wine is decent, though I really think the beer and cocktails are what Minhas is best at. The egg rolls were delicious and the specials are pretty good. I had the beef tips and my husband had the chicken. I'd probably order more off the main menu next time. Thank you for a good experience! read more

I used to love this place when they had a better mix of healthier options. Their new menu is a step down imho. They now have two salads: and one has cheese curds in it! What? The other is a garden salad that while good...IS NOT WORTH TWENTY DOLLARS WHICH IS WHAT IT COSTS WITH A TIP. $20 for a garden salad would be very high in a fancy restaurant in Madison. New lunch menu...burgers, fried bar food and panini sandwiches that aren't even pressed...disappointing. One garden salad and one salad with cheese curds. Maybe dinner is better...but honestly for the prices they are wanting...eat elsewhere. We saw the excellent reviews of this restaurant after we had purchased a "date night" Groupon so we were very much looking forward to our meal here. We had visited Monroe last spring and stopped at the brewery but did not pay attention to the restaurant/winery across the street. With our Groupon in hand we drove the hour for lunch on a Friday (the waitress confirmed this was a good idea because the weekends can get very busy). The restaurant was almost empty except of a couple of tables of wine tasters. Our waitress was not only super helpful but a real delight. Given how stressed out wait staff is these days it was a pleasant experience. Our special included two glasses of wine, an appetizer, two entrees and two desserts - an approximate $100 value that we purchased for a lot less. The wine selection was just OK if you don't like super fruity wines but we found two that were decent. We started with their dragon shrimp appetizer - it was super tasty with just a bit of heat. The side salads were beautiful and delicious. For my main I got the crab cakes and they were full of crab not filler - excellent flavors. My wife got the salmon and raved that unlike most places they cooked it medium rare as requested. She loved it. Both were included fresh asparagus. For dessert we got two slices of their cakes - one was a Banana Foster and the other we cannot remember but both were very good. After having a few drinks next door at Minhas Distillery we decided to go next door for a few appetizers. Once we checked in,Yelp offered a free glass of wine. A nice surprise. I'm not a wine drinker so my wife tried the pear wine which she said was a little sweet but refreshing. I had to order the Wisconsin Old Fashion which was only 6.50 and was not disappointed. We tried the cheese curds which came with ranch and chipotle dipping sauces. Very good ..not greasy at all. We also tried the Spicey Chile Shrimp which were very tasty and a good portion.My wife wanted to try the Spring Rolls and you can choose between pork belly or shrimp. She chose the pork belly which tasted more like thick cut bacon in our opinion. Prices very reasonable. For a quick bite to eat..this is a great place with a friendly staff . The TL/DR: go somewhere else. Not sure why everyone thinks this place is good. Food was mediocre at best and the server told us to avoid more than he recommended. The menu leaves off key ingredients like the jalapeño in the corn bites and they use garlic salt in their buttered garlic noodles which leaves a super salty dish once you add the cheese. We came here after a hockey game on a Sunday night and were surprised to find we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves! Be sure to bring your appetite, as the portions are massive! My daughter ordered the Bavarian pretzel off the appetizer menu, and it easily could have fed 4 people! It was served with beer cheese, honey mustard, and ranch, and all three were very good. I ordered the Country General, which was 2 breaded chicken breasts with a ton of bacon and cheese on a pretzel bun. I had no idea it came with 2 pieces of chicken, and my husband and I would have shared if I had known that! The beer battered fries were awesome, easily the star of the dish. My husband ordered the bacon blue burger, which had 4 huge pieces of bacon and a ton of blue cheese. He chose onion straws for the side and he polished them off. I checked in on Yelp to get a free glass of wine, but their wine and cocktail prices are actually very reasonable. They have a huge selection of both, but I was most impressed with their selection of spirits. For $12 you got 4 uniquely crafted drinks featuring their homemade spirits. Every single one was delicious ! Food- I got the Le Bistro burger and it was phenomenal! Delicious flavors and so unique. Highly recommend it. My boyfriend got the chicken sandwich and that's where this place lost a start. The chicken was rubbery and chewy, tasted bad. Sunday night so we popped in. Barely anyone inside. Worst service I have had in a long time. Our waitress was everywhere but where she needed to be. I had to go get her from cleaning the bathrooms to receive our bill. I got the browned butter gnocchi. Guess that means burnt gnocchi sitting in a stick of melted butter. My husband got the seafood pasta and was told it was the most popular item on the list but... the shrimp was stringy and overcooked and the base looked like a grocery store pasta salad. Good luck! I've been to the minhas compound a few times now and I'm SO happy to see that they have yet again expanded - and now tapping into the wine / food industry! The have a very cute indoor kitchen, very cozy type of seating available and now they do offer a brand new patio with a full outdoor bar and live music every Saturday! We went a few weeks ago and the band that played was incredible! The wine tasting with the charcuterie board was on point!!!! And of course since we were in Wisconsin we had to order some cheese curds.... holy cow! Did not disappoint! The variety of wines they offer is incredible, so many unique flavors and there's someone for everyone !They had shaded out door tables, great for large groups, the staff here was so sweet and even sang happy birthday to my boyfriend and brought out a molten Brownie ice cream dish, which was SO good!!!
