These battered cheese curds are some of the best I have had.

This was an incredible experience! Started with amazing Bloody Mary's, fantastic cheese curds, great salad and Reuben... wow! Oh! French Onion soup - so great! Loved this Taste if Wisconsin!

Curds we're PERFECTION. Crispy outside, gooey inside. Dipping sauce was fire!

Wow. If you want the most amazing cheese curds on the face of this earth...come here. Amazing service. Best curds in Wisconsin...and don't get me started on their Philly cheese steak, Ruben and a side of Mac and cheese. Food is awesome. Spotted cow on draft. And good music too. Covid friendly . Felt very safe and socially distant from everyone.

My husband and I walked in about 5:00 pm on a Friday night. Never been here before. Definitely will be going back. Seated immediately but it did start getting busy around 5:45. Wait staff was friendly and fast. We ordered the cheese curds and they were delicious, hot and fresh! My husband ordered the beer cheese soup it was very good. I had the baked cod, sweet potato fries and cole slaw. It was all very good and quick. He ordered the ribeye dinner with garlic potatoes and green beans, he said it was all wonderful! Thank you for the great experience. Can't wait to come back!!

The food was very good, the waitress was also good. The tables were spaced . I had the ribs with potatoes and green beans. My husband has chicken breast with chips.

This place gets me. Local cheese, local beer, local soda, local PIE. The cheese curds were mighty delish and I love that they came with a sauce. I ordered the mac & cheese because everyone knows that when in Monroe... get anything with cheese. They made the mac & cheese using grand crew and cheddar cheeses from the Roth Kase and Maple Leaf cheese factories. It was a dangerously delicious combination and my only complaint is that my dish was a tad cooler than it should have been so the cheese wasn't quite melty/stringy enough (I blame the ones in my party who ordered thick cuts of beef). It'd be great to see some meat producers show up on their list of local vendors, but in the meantime Im going to keep eating this mac & cheese.

Best salad in Monroe! Baby greens, including Arugala, feta, dried cranberries, red onions, chicken and a balsamic dressing!

Service was good, food was sub par. My salad was dull and my husbands prime rib was dry and tough. Won't be back ;(

Cuteness rating is a 4 (vintage 1940s barback, lots of brick and barnwood) VISIT ONE: I had the brisket sandwich. It wasn't quite what I expected (piece of sauced brisket on a bun), but it was good. Brisket was moist. Served with a choice of side. Plenty for lunch. Wait staff was pleasant. VISIT TWO: Sat at the bar this trip. It was at least 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, even though wait staff walked behind the bar a couple of times and made eye contact. May not have been her domain, because we were finally waited on by someone else who I assume was the bartender. She was a little rude. Asked her for the wifi password, which had been changed since the previous visit and she responded "I don't have access to that information". Ordered a cheeseburger with everything on it, and she said, " i dont know what that is. You're going to have to tell me." Really? It's a burger & it generally means lettuce, onion, tomatoes, pickles. You know, the exact items listed on the menu. Geez! Husband asked about the soup of the day and was told by the soup nazi that they didn't have any - just chili, today. Burger was served on a fresh kaiser roll and was good. The salad was fairly large and was also fresh. We'll be back again (buy local!). Maybe more hospitable staff will be working the next time.

My husband had cheese curds and chicken bacon ranch wrap with fries. The wrap was generous and chicken was tender and fried. I had the chicken salad sandwich with fries. I have not had a chicken salad sandwich in a very long time and was not disappointed. The chicken was chunky, complimented with sweet cranberries and served on wheat toast. The coziness, friendliness and food options gave off a small town feel. If in the area a good option for food.

Super friendly service serving food that tastes great! Started with the Frickles...crispy breaded pickle chips served with ranch...not greasy and cooked just right. I had a cup of their New Glarus chili which is made fresh daily with New Glarus beer loaded with beef, tomatoes, beans and spices. Topped with sour cream and local cheddar cheese. I skipped the diced onions. It was so good I wish I ordered a bowl! My wife had their homemade chicken salad sandwich on a gluten free bun (1.00 extra). The chicken salad had dried cranberries and pecans which made it super delicious. For a side she had their homemade bean salad. A great place to stop to try local beers and homemade food while enjoying the small town of New Glarus!

A pretty busy place with locals and people from other areas. There's about what's expected on the menu it seems. Before even coming in there's a smell of barbecue. It's got a pretty full menu. There's a bar in the middle surrounded by plenty of tables. Beers are the main thing of course. It's about $7 a pint. Best one we had of these was the Coldstream Lager. This is a full bodied Bavarian style. A lot of the food is meaty. Brisket and that kind of stuff. Among the appetizers is the Cowboy Caviar. One of the few vegetarian options. This is a mixture of beans, cilantro, corn, jalapeños, red onions, and tomatoes. It's about $16 for the Tex-Mex Bowl. This has avocado, cilantro rice, Cowboy Caviar, marinated cucumbers, pico de gallo, and Thai sauce. Of course an option is to get it with meats added. There's plenty more things including burgers and pork belly tacos among the livestock based foods. For around here it's one of the better places for big crowds. It's got beers and barbecue along with some healthier options. They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
