I eaten here for the lunch buffet twice. They provide Swiss food selections and the offerings were plentiful, hot and tasty.

After talking to our wonderful waitress and telling her it's our first time here, she suggested to us the Ribeye Philly Sandwich and the Aloha Burger and the Cheese Curds for an appetizer. After looking at the menu for a few minutes, I chose the Ribeye Philly Sandwich and Jr chose the Junction burger. We both subbed fries for the chips and also ordered a 1/2 order of onion rings and the Cheese Curds. The Cheese Curds were amazing. I've never had such great tasting cheese curds before. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. Both our sandwiches were outstanding. We both said "were coming back here again". Gotta try more stuff here! Thank you!

I gave the waitress $100.00 (5 twenties) on a $69.00 dollar check and requested change for the tip. Unfortunately she returned with $11.00 and some small change and when i pointed out she was 20 short she seemed confused and went back to the bar to check. After another short exchange between me and her she went again to the bar and returned with my 20 so I'm okay. I just hope she didn't get stiffed by the guy behind the bar who rang up the bill and they figured out the mistake. P.S. She ended up with the 20 cause i still didn't have change for the tip.

We're so glad we did! They are only open for breakfast and lunch. We walked into this restaurant that has a very small town feel with a Swiss theme. The walls were painted in a Swiss style that my girlfriend said reminded of her time spent in southern Germany. The booths and counter remind me of something from the 60s. The booths could use some maintenance and repairs. The booth we sat at the upholstery was cracked. You could see the foam padding. We arrived and it did not take long to be greeted and seated. The service here was fantastic. The staff was on top of everything. They were friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Honestly it was some of the perfect service we have ever had. As for the food... Well... You have to love a small-town family restaurant. I had the Country Fried steak and Eggs. It was some of the best Country Fried Steak and Eggs I've had in a long time, and definitely the best I've had in the region. When it was brought to the table, I didn't have high expectations as the Gravy looked like it was going to be a plain white gravy with little to no flavor. First impressions can be very wrong. It had a great flavor and was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection. The breading was a crispy, flavorful delight. I had zero complaints. It came with hashbrowns. Normally when I order hashbrowns I ask for them to be fried extra crispy because I feel it adds to the flavor. I forgot to do this, but I didn't need to. They weren't as cooked as I prefer, but they had a great flavor that, when mixed with either the eggs or gravy, were absolutely delightful. My girlfriend ordered the eggs and hashbrowns and was impressed by the hashbrowns before I even had a chance to taste them. They were great. With that being said, remember this is a small-town family restaurant. The food is what you're going to get at these locations. This is not a Michelin star restaurant; let alone one located in a large city. It's small-town awesomeness. It's a slice of Americana. It's pure nostalgia. You get a good meal, at a decent price. You're not going to get fancy décor and complicated menus. If you want a fine breakfast, you won't be disappointed with Swiss Alps.

Cuteness rating is a 4 (vintage 1940s barback, lots of brick and barnwood) VISIT ONE: I had the brisket sandwich. It wasn't quite what I expected (piece of sauced brisket on a bun), but it was good. Brisket was moist. Served with a choice of side. Plenty for lunch. Wait staff was pleasant. VISIT TWO: Sat at the bar this trip. It was at least 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us, even though wait staff walked behind the bar a couple of times and made eye contact. May not have been her domain, because we were finally waited on by someone else who I assume was the bartender. She was a little rude. Asked her for the wifi password, which had been changed since the previous visit and she responded "I don't have access to that information". Ordered a cheeseburger with everything on it, and she said, " i dont know what that is. You're going to have to tell me." Really? It's a burger & it generally means lettuce, onion, tomatoes, pickles. You know, the exact items listed on the menu. Geez! Husband asked about the soup of the day and was told by the soup nazi that they didn't have any - just chili, today. Burger was served on a fresh kaiser roll and was good. The salad was fairly large and was also fresh. We'll be back again (buy local!). Maybe more hospitable staff will be working the next time.

Koning Maple Lane Event Center - Response from Rena regarding the plates

Koning Maple Lane Event Center

Where to begin with Rena- we checked this place out for our celebration of life for my brother (18)…read morewho committed suicide. When we first met with the owner, things seemed really awesome $75/hour (clock starts when you start setting up) they provide tables, chairs, a screen, and clean up (not shabby) or so we thought. We paid for 7 hours - $525. One rule about this place is if you have your event here you cannot bring in food, you must get food from her. We thought, wow that would be great - set up, catering and clean up, what a neat place. After first meeting Rena stated that we needed to pick a menu from her items. It's regular general items - so at first we picked the celebration of life "usuals" (pulled pork, salad, fruit, cookies, ice, and some cheese trays) we estimated about 150-200 people. Rena first quoted me $1800 - $2,000, I've never planned anything like this so I thought - okay, sounds good. We agreed and I thought we were good. 2 days later, she called and left me a voicemail at 9:30pm stating I needed to call her back. Upon calling her, she said "I just cannot do this for $10/plate what you want is going to cost $3,500 -$3,800 + 5% tax and + 30% gratuity (she said 15 at first but when we did the math, it came out to be about 30), she also said that at that price, we would only get 150 plates and when the plates were gone, even if there was food left - that was the end of eating for our guests. I thought to myself, kind of strange to count plates and then throw away food (seemed wasteful). I'm not a caterer by any means so idk maybe this is how it works. I said I wanted a quote in writing to get a second opinion bc again, I know nothing really about this business. After some research, I learned that her rules of counting plates was something more for like a sit down dinner, not for sandwiches and finger foods. So I declined and we decided to cut way back and said - 150 people worth of cheese trays, sausage and cookies/bars + ice - she quoted us $750 which included the tax and gratuity..or so we thought. The event was super successful, we ended up having 450 people stop through (not everyone ate) and we noticed that we had run out of food pretty early but thought oh well, bc we were having a dinner at Vince's later. Rena took it upon herself to set out 2 regular bags of Tostitos and salsa later on. Extra food and charges were never discussed with us during the event. Fast forward 6 hours, I'm at Vince's with my family and I send a family member to the event center to pay Rena, upon arrival she told my family member that the total would be $1800. $1050 more than what she quoted us. My family member didn't question it bc she thought the event center fee was included and she wanted to do a nice gesture for our family considering the circumstances. Not until later, upon questioning everyone (mostly to thank them) I found out that the bill was now $1800!! Rena indicated that because we ended up having so many guests she had to (allegedly) prepare so much more food (cheese, sausage and cookie trays) and she claimed she provided drinks (which we did not ask for) even though we brought our own. These 'extra' items were never discussed with any of us, no one was ever told that it would be an almost double charge of the original quote, just because of foot traffic. When we questioned how it became so much, she sent an updated very non specific/detailed "invoice". When further questioned and reminded of our original contract and quote she proceeded to send (imo) a very rude email in response. We already paid her and we're too sad to argue with her. If I would've known she was going sneakily overcharge us I would've just passed on the "food" all together. It's really too bad because the center and space is really great and it did meet our needs but the lack of details, the egregious upcharge, and rena's general demeanor is truly disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We estimated that we would have about 100 friends and family members attending to share their grief and celebrate Karen's life. The space was perfect. The food was excellent. We highly recommend the Konig Maple Lane Event Center without any reservations. Thank you Rena!
