I ended up in Hertford, NC for a weekend getaway. Whenever I opened Yelp, this was one of the few restaurants that came up. I'm glad that I gave it a try! It exceeded my expectations! It looked like your typical mom and pop Chinese restaurant but the food had something special about it. I had a chance to speak the ​owners and found out that this shop has been opened for 18-19 years! That explains the delicious taste of the wok! The texture of the honey chicken had a special crunch to it. It wasn't your typical breading from a Chinese restaurant. The shrimp and broccoli were​ well-cooked. Their food is amazing. I was a little skeptical because it's the only Chinese cuisine in town, but I was not let down. I've been looking for good General Tso's chicken since I left NY in 2014 and theirs is the best I've tried so far, with actual sauce still on it, unlike most other places I've tried. The taste was just what I was looking for. Their sesame chicken (which is always my second choice if I don't like a place's General Tso's) was incredible and I think I may even like it more than any other chicken I've tried from a Chinese food place. The woman who took my order on the phone was very pleasant, and the woman who rang me up when I got there was extremely kind and cheery, seeming to actually value her customers. I would definitely recommend this place as a go-to for Chinese food. The place is small, and reminiscent of the ones in NY, but much cleaner than any I've ever been in. It was not busy on a Saturday morning, but it was my first time there, so I'm not sure if that's common for them. Egg drop soup was lukewarm at best. General tso chicken was sweet, no heat at all. Spring rolls were cold. Place was sticky and needed a good cleaning. Fried rice had no flavor. Overall not worth a drive from Eliza city. Wouldn't be back. read more

Visiting my mother, I thought it would be nice to spare her the production of making a meal, by stopping in and picking up her favorites. Fantastic! Food was delicious, and the bbq spare ribs top notch. The young lady at the register was very nice and hustling around like a whirlwind. We just got Chinese and my usual is teriyaki chicken and some egg rolls but I think they change the recipe it taste different and they are smaller if the taste was the same I would still get it I mean I'm still going to eat there because the teriyaki chicken is still the same and the best one I had but the egg rolls are just not the same and good read more

It was my birth day so me and my wife decided to eat Chinese food in Hertford North Carolina I wanted coconut shrimp cheese wonton white rice and diet soda! (If it's made right) it's fried shrimp with a coconut sauce ! Well that day the owners wife whom is (mean as a rattlesnake) decided skip two or three steps coconut shrimp sauce is supposed to be cream of coconut, shaved coconut and a tiny dollop of MAYO WHAT I GOT WAS JUST MAYO! ( NASTY) SHE TRIED TO TELL ME THAT I WAS WRONG! Then when I tried to take it back! She was rude and nasty For no reason. I just wanted my money back then she tried to make me take the cheese wontons which was burnt to a crisp! She said I'll call the cops ! lol so I said please call the police! When I called her bluff I got my money back! Now I have to go Edenton it worked great for me because it's Soooooo cheaper And a lot better! read more

I just recently ate here. I loved my General Tao's Chicken and my Shrimp Fried Rice with vegetables. I normally do not eat Chinese food, but I was craving some and my co-worker recommended Ming Hing's to me. He said it was good quality food. I was very satisfied with my meal. I also like that they have a healthy section of their menu. I don't see that being offered very often. I will definitely be ordering more in the future. read more
