Our large multi-generational family would attend church and then return home to indulge on traditional Polish foods, including smoked kielbasa (pork sausage), ham, beet horseradish, poppy seed and walnut rolls (sweets!), and bread/butter that had been molded into the shape of a lamb. This year would be different. I'd be in Virginia Beach, visiting our adult daughter -- and we'd be guests at her boyfriend's, whose parents would also be visiting. While the meal would be Italian American (their heritage), we wanted to share some traditional Polish favorites with the group. We discovered the Kielbasa Euro Deli online, and rushed on over. Upon entering, you find a small shop with aisles of mostly jarred and canned food items from Poland, some souvenir items, and freezer/refrigerated cases with pierogies (filled dumplings), farmer cheese, and other treats. At the back, there's a deli with kielbasa and other meats. As we considered one particular kielbasa, the worker in the deli area offered us a taste. Sold! We ended up finding and buying many of our traditional favorites. We missed out on the butter lamb. While the store carried them, we watched another patron buy the final one that was in stock. More would be in stock in a few days. *Kielbasa. We bought a large 2 pound link. (smaller links are also available). It was good, but our personal favorite continues to be the smoked kielbasa from Schiff's in Scranton. *Horseradish. (jarred). Excellent. Pungent. *Pierogies. We bought three frozen packets, each of which contained 12 small pierogies. (1) The potato and mushroom ones were disappointing. The potatoes were grainy, and we couldn't tell that they included mushrooms. (2) Blueberry -- as expected, but more of a dessert because of the sweetness. (3) potato and cheese -- haven't tried yet. *Poppy seed rolls. Very good, but still can't replace fresh and homemade! *(Wal)nut roll. Disappointing. More bread-y than sweet, a bit stale, and with an insufficient amount of nuts. Our final bill came to above $75. Note that, based on the labels, it appears that most of the "fresh" items are not made in Virginia Beach. Rather, they're coming from New York. I would return to this shop for Polish foods -- which are unique and time-consuming to make. It's great to have the shop in VB! Enjoy!

Cashier was nice and courteous, said hello and goodbye, and checked out my items quickly. A very sweet encounter. They have shopping baskets! A very nice touch to such a small store. Store is small but well organized- a lot of merchandise varying from food products to glassware, even origami papers and little snacks that are hard to find elsewhere. Rice, seasonings, curry packs, fish, kimchi, sweets, ice creams, drinks, chopsticks, little gifts for all the ones you love. It's got everything wrapped up in a little store. No noticeable loud music- if there was music, it was very quiet and ambient. This store has a relaxed environment. I didn't feel rushed by staff (only one visible staff member) to hurry up and get out or anything. Crowd rating: When first entering the store, there was one other customer already checking out. The whole time I was in there (for some 20 minutes) I was the only customer. Not a popular spot just yet but I'm sure it'll catch the attention it deserves. Prices posted! All prices are either on the shelf or on the item itself. Not one of those sketchy places where prices are unknown- very reassuring knowing how much I'm about to spend. Cheap! Good prices! I go to a few of these every now and then and by far, for the selection and service, these prices are a steal! I got three things here that wouldn't have been available at one store, let alone for the price I got. I spent 12 dollars. Anywhere else, it would most likely be closer to 20-25. Summary: Want a beautifully quiet hole-in-the-wall comfortable store to buy some high quality choice Asian food Mart items? This place is a must! Please check it out- truly going on my text thread of favourite stores like this. :)

Albeit the store itself is small, the majority of the items are dried foods, then some frozen snacks, and finally a small section of cutlery like teapots and cups. I was told by some trusted sources that there were two other mom-and-pop Korean grocery stores other than the Grand Mart and E-marts of the area! I happened to be in the Peninsula and decided to pop in for some goodies before my next appointment. When you walk in, to the left, they have the refrigerators with the produce and the wall in the back is lined with more fridges and freezers to store all the cold, perishable and frozen items. I saw things like fresh perilla leaves, kongnamul (Korean bean sprouts) and what I loved about this particular mart was that they had a good variety of ready, grab-n-go banchan in smaller sizes. I was told by the nice lady who worked there that they make kimbap on the daily (if you didn't know, the best and cheapest way to get kimbap is at almost all the Korean grocery stores). She also said that the owner makes all the banchan and usually makes them on fridays. I picked up things like purple potato starch noodles (say what?! The noodles used for japchae are purple...maybe the Koreans are getting on the ube train...), a box of Bacchus-D (Korean energy drink that was the inspo behind Red Bull), Banana milk, Coffee milk, and some Korean ssuk gae-tteok, which is a chrysanthemum leaf rice cake (or muwgwort), coated in a bean powder! It was SO GOOD and so fresh! It's a Korean version of mochi, if you're familiar with that. All in all, I can't wait to go back and stock up on banchan that I am too lazy to make and try their kimbap. Things to note: I was told that this is strictly a Korean grocery store and not an "International" one as most of the Asian grocery stores label themselves. There are no other products related to other Asian cuisines, just Korean. Enjoy, Friends!

As other reviewers have said, it IS small. But the great thing is, they've managed to pack a whole lot into the small space, so you'll be able to find a lot of things you may be looking for. I personally wasn't looking for anything specific, just went to browse around. They have refrigerated and freezers on the right side (with gyoza, frozen seafood, frozen apps), condiments and sauces towards the back, dishware and non-food related things on the left wall. more things in the middle (chopsticks, household items). They have several types of boxed curry roux in the back, which I was really happy to find (Java curry and Vermont curry as well as the Golden curry). Kewpie mayo, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, etc. They have a few snacks on the left side of the wall and plenty of drinks in the refrigerated case up front and near the cash register. They also have desserts like matcha ice cream, mochi ice cream and some dessert breads in their coolers. Overall, a great little store, if you need to pop in real quick to pick up some Japanese ingredients. The employees/owners are really nice and polite. Great service, great location, great selection of items. Would definitely recommend~!

It can really stack up fast and it's a little pricey, so with that mind it's a cool place!

We stopped by The Fresh Market/Farm Fresh because it was convenient. We found the dry spice package we needed, but the packaging was broken. We went to customer service and spoke with the man in charge, but unfortunately, he told us it was the last one in stock. Since we are not familiar with the area and weren't sure where else to go, we decided to take the broken package and use it anyway--it's a dry spice, so we figured it would be fine. To our surprise, the same gentleman came to the cashier and told her not to charge us--it was free. Even though the cost of the spice wasn't significant, his thoughtfulness and kindness truly impressed us. This kind of gesture doesn't happen often in international markets. He made this Thanksgiving feel even more like Thanksgiving.
