I was stopping in Milford while traveling and looking for a late dinner. I ordered from Ming Feng and brought it back to my hotel and was NOT disappointed! The food was very hot and large portions. I got veggie lo mein and the sesame chicken combo, which was served with pork fried rice and an egg roll. I am an egg roll connoisseur and this definitely passed the test, very hot and crispy. The lo mein had a ton of fresh veggies and a light sauce. The sesame chicken was standard great flavor, and the pork fried rice also had fresh veggies and the pork tasted good. The woman who waited on me at the counter was also very friendly and kind. Overall, a great experience and everything I look for in takeout Chinese! This place is growing on me, and so I've been ordering from them more often lately. It's good, solid, dependable Chinese food. Nothing flashy, but no duds either. What I like best is that the ingredients are fresh. Veggies are always crisp, and the seafood, especially the shrimp is very good, and large jumbo pieces to boot. When we moved to the area we were heart broken about leaving our "old go to" Chinese food place. We discovered this place randomly from Grubhub as it had the highest ratings and wow! This place is awesome! Portions are generous, food is fresh, and the lady at the front is such a pleasure. Okay, so M and I tripped upon this place about a month ago when I needed to stop at Walgreens to get a prescription filled and had a little time to kill while waiting for it. It's your average Chinese takeout food but has a large dining area. You order your food at the front counter and then they bring it out to you. For your beverage, it's either bottled or in a can. Both my wife and I noticed that their ingredients are quite good for a Chinese takeout place. We are extremely excited to have found this place in Milford, and plan on returning often. Fresh food. And they have no problem customizing a particular dish to your liking. The owner is always happy to make a special lo mein just for me. I always ask for a mushroom and garlic lo mein that has hot chili oil added in. Very simple yet terribly delicious. I think he should put it on the menu. I think many people will enjoy it. They also make a special chicken and scallions dish with onions. It's not on menu but they always make it for my wife. And she absolutely loves it. She hasn't ordered anything else on the menu since. Living right in the same neighborhood, I've gotten take out there dozens of times (the dining room is too hot and noisy to actually sit and eat there) but the food is good, the delivery is fast and friendly. I've had a few things there that I didn't care for, but I put it down to my uneducated palate, more than any lack in the quality of the food. They do need a SERIOUS makeover though, if they ever hope to have more than a take away joint. I hope this is the same restaurant inside the KMART/Ocean State Job lot shopping complex in Milford,CT. I had the most awful experience there when I went over there in March 2011 .The lady who manages this place is extremely rude to the indian-origin people (Asian Indian). I kept standing there waiting for her to respond as she was on the phone.Then a white lady walked in and immediately this manager turned into all smiles and started explaining to her about their menu spread. I just reminded the lady that I was ahead on the queue and she curtly handed over the menu card and a pencil and said "mark what you want". I just walked out after letting her know what i thought about her behaviour. I rarely take such racial behavior and that coming from an other immigrant community is totally unacceptable. read more

I'm in the New Haven area for work and had Ming Feng delivered to my hotel. Ordering online is a breeze, and the delivery driver was prompt and friendly. When I opened my stapled brown bag, I glanced in and thought something was amiss. Toto, we are not in Kansas (er, Boston, MA) anymore. I'm used to light brown pork fried rice, dark brown lobster sauce, and when I say "extra duck sauce," it usually means a big cup of the apple sauce looking variety, not a few extra bright orange packets. Once I overcame my shell shock, I dug into a very satisfying meal. This is your typical, Americanized Chinese food - if you go in with exceeding expectations, you'll be disappointed. The rice is perfect, fluffy and loaded with big chunks of peas, carrots, and pork. Shrimp lobster sauce was loaded with large shrimps. Chicken fingers were plentiful and ordinary. Egg roll a little too crispy, but still tasty. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner and would order from Ming Feng again in a heartbeat. read more

My first and only experience at this place was that the front desk lady was RUDE. She kept asking if we were ready to order and we kept saying "no." Eventually we started to order what we knew we wanted but were unable to specify combo or meal or whatever because she would not let us read earlier. Then, she said, "JUST READ!" Excuse me? We tried and you wouldn't let us because you kept forcing us to order. Then she left and didn't give us our food when it was ready, and one of the cooks had to come out when he realized we had been sitting there for a long time and there were no new food orders (our food had been done for a while, but the lady left without saying anything!!). Not happy be careful when you order from here. I ordered a QT of roast pork lo mein and when they gave me my food it clearly was not a QT. When I asked was this the large she said yes. I usually grab a QT for me and both my teenage kids and this was only enough for one. Just coming from church wanted to surprise the kids and I was the one with a surprise. Wasn't enough for all three of us so I gave it to a homeless man; who will still probably be hungry after eating that little bit of food. Didn't want to argue just looked at her and left. Really 4.5 stars. I'm not sure if this place has changed owners because I remember trying it 6 years or so ago and not liking it at all. IMO if you're going to bother to eat anything that's fried, it better be crispy. There is nothing worse than biting into a soggy, oily egg roll. Ming Feng fries everything up so that it's wonderfully crispy-even the leftovers crunch. In the next week or so, I'll branch out and try some different menu items. read more
