very cute coffee shop! you order at the kiosk but the baristas are kind and will answer questions you have. a lot of drink options, but i have been looking for a place in the bay that serves a good einspanner. but when i saw that they had a MATCHA einspanner i immediately had to try it! it was very creamy and milky and the right amount of sweetness for my preference. the matcha could have been stronger though, next time i would get double matcha. i also liked how they don't charge extra for oat! they use califa oat for their hot lattes and a different one for iced drinks, so i went with whole milk to be safe. my girlfriend got the hojicha latte which i liked but she wished it were sweeter. i would come back again if i was in the area to give the regular einspanner a try plus the matcha one with modifications read more

Such a cute spot located next to UC Berkeley, it is a bit small so you really gotta look for it's shop. Inside you have tables set up for students to study or hang out. Upon entering, one of the employees, not sure if she was the owner or not, was so nice and friendly. We ordered the matcha einspanner, cardamon orange latte & dirty chai latte. My two faves were the matcha einspanner and cardamon orange latte. The matcha einspanner was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I wish there was more tho. The cardamon orange latte was refreshing. A very cozy, very narrow (!) coffee shop on Euclid, just north of the campus. Early mornings, it's not too busy - there were a few people sitting and enjoying their drinks/doing work/studying at around 8am, but it gets pretty packed later on, especially due to its size. It can probably seat a maximum of 20 people and due to the copious amount of power outlets, it's quite popular with students. I've only had espresso-based drinks from Mind and they're solid - definitely the best in the area IMHO, though probably not the best in all of Berkeley. They have at least oat and soy alt-milks and also a variety of delicious looking pastries. Prices are reasonable and on par for the area. An oat milk latte will set you back about $6 before tip. read more

Stopped by at 1:30 on a Friday and most of the tables were filled up with students who were working. I was really excited because I had heard about this place newly opening after I moved out of Berkeley two years ago. The space is super cool looking and the architecture of the store is very unique, very narrow. I ordered the Ceremonial Iced Matcha with House Crema with Suggested Sweetness and the cream was really good when I tried it by itself on the top, but the matcha to water ratio was kind of off. It tasted way more watery than I would have expected. However, this is not a matcha latte so maybe it wasn't meant to be more matcha and watery, so I wasn't too happy that it seemed very watery. This is a tight coffee spot. As in it's a really long but not wide coffee spot lol. They have self order kiosks. Definitely a more grab and go spot. I had the cold brew with crema and it really hit my spot. It wasn't too sweet. My friend had the hoijicha latte and he really enjoyed it, creamy and nutty. They do have some pastries, but I didn't have a chance to try it this time. They do have tables and chairs but not many. I can see how this would be a cute study spot, not too far from campus. Came here because of the bestie and for my love of coffee and matcha. This place was highly recommended by my friend and this place did not disappoint. The location is very small, and aesthetics are quite nice; I loved the interior design. This place can get quite packed due to students studying there or people in general doing work or relaxing. If you drive to this location, it could be a bit difficult trying to find a parking spot as you will need to find street parking. I did park a couple blocks away, but it wasn't a bad walk to the coffee shop. I really wanted to take pictures inside, but was occupied with some important matters; will definitely want to take pictures the next time I come back :). When you go inside, there is the self-service kiosk tablet you can order from. If you would want to pay in cash, you can go to the counter and a server will take your order too. The service was very quick and they are all so very nice! I ordered the Iced Dirty Matcha Latte, it is the Ceremonial grade Matcha with 2 shots of house espresso, ice, and your choice of milk. It was the perfect balance, and I got the amount of caffeine needed to keep me going! Great quality drink. I would love to try the pastries next time, and reading the other reviews I'm definitely going to try the Hojicha drink next. I recommend giving this place a try. read more

I really like the Iced Matcha Latte because it was not too sweet and it didn't taste powdery. My friend really liked her iced Hojicha latte because you can really taste the flavor of the tea. It was cool but I noticed the people who were sitting on those bean bags were slouching very badly to get their work done. If you're feeling extra devious and can't decide what you want because everything looks good, you can order "Let my barista choose" for a surprise drink (I've gotten exclusive drinks before from this option)! The workers were super nice and kept offering help to order with them instead of the kiosk even though they were still busy which I feel like a lot of places don't do anymore. It is very narrow and a bit stuffy but there were still many people in there studying. The drink I ordered, hojicha latte was very good. I loved the drink honestly. My friend said her coffee wasn't very good, but to each their own. I still would come back for the hojicha because I am not a coffee drinker myself. Such a wonderful coffee shop focusing on a mission to rewrite mental health narrative. Just hearing about their mission + all the IG posting hyping their shop, I decided to visit on a Saturday afternoon. When you first walk in, the space is long with cute layouts of cushions for patrons to sit down and enjoy their drinks. Towards the back, there are two kiosks you can place your order for minimal contact and then an option to choose either credit card or cash payment with further instructions. Of course you can still ask the workers there who would be more than happy to help. Menu selection was extensive and I got quite overwhelmed due to decision paralysis until I came across "Let Your Barista Choose" choice. Aside from answering a few questions to be sure you don't end up with ingredients you can't consume (e.g. milk), it was going to be a surprise. Basing on my answers, the barista whipped up an iced soy dirty matcha cappuccino! You can definitely tell quality ingredients were used along with the barista's consideration to make this drink for me to say wow. And since I haven't really had a great mental health month, this experience brought me some happy tears, and to know this could be a safe place to calm the brain and enjoy great coffee. Mind Coffee is a great spot to study and it has such a cute ambiance! The interior is well-decorated with a bunch of cute seating options including little stone/pebble-shaped cushions and low tables so you can sit closer to the floor. I love the way it's decorated as well, with an impressive paper lighting fixture spanning the entire ceiling and several plants to complement the neutral colors of the interior. The staff are friendly and helpful and they do a great job at keeping the place clean. The iced matcha latte I ordered was great! Went here with my bf for the first time about two weeks ago and got the hojicha latte with cold foam. First time trying it and it was SOOO good, def set my standard for hojicha. The barista taking my order was very nice, and recommended I get the foam after I asked her opinion. I tried it and honestly thought it could do without, but it wasn't bad! I just personally wouldn't get it with a hojicha or matcha. The place itself was verryyyy small, and all the seats inside were taken, so bf and I sat outside (we did go on a weekend so I'm not surprised nor annoyed). Really lovely spot! Had a chance to meet the owner and it was good vibes all around. For my first time, I ordered the cold brew cream top ($6) and absolutely enjoyed it. I was telling the owner how hard it was to find good cream top in the east bay, but was pleasantly surprised that the consistency + taste of it was spot on. Not too sweet either. As for the cold brew itself, I liked how it tasted but will agree with the other reviewers and say that it was kind of 'light'. Could be worth steeping it for a little bit longer and using more beans for that more acidic taste that cold brews are known for. That said, this place is still new and I know it'll only get better and better! Also saw LOTS of people order matcha, so will definitely try that the next time I come around. Their house made whipped cream is the perfect amount of sweetener for their coffee and a great fluffy texture. There is a standing table, some cushioned floor seats, and a few regular seated areas so keep that in mind if you have a preference. There are 2 kiosks you can order from and then they will call out your name. The drinks here are not very sweet so just know that you will probably need adjustment if you like sugar. I ordered the Tiramisu crema with cold brew and it didn't really taste much like tiramisu. Otherwise, the coffee itself was pretty smooth. Friendly service. They have an emphasis on mental health and offer things like signs to welcome people to your table, or cards you can buy that have encouraging messages. Nice little stop if you're in the area.
