Absolutely appalling experience at Piper and Lillies…read more Our 15-year-old daughter went in Sunday to spend money she had saved on a Jellycat. Before purchasing, she specifically asked about the return policy and was told "30 days." Minutes later, after deciding she couldn't justify spending over $100 with tax, she attempted to return the untouched item and was told Jellycats were not returnable. That was frustrating. What happened next was far worse. When my wife called, manager Trey suggested that our daughter had taken a bracelet she had been looking at -- effectively accusing a 15-year-old girl of theft. She had simply picked up a bracelet while shopping, carried it to the Jellycat display, and set it down there before making her purchase. She went back into the store and showed the employee exactly where she had left it. Her boyfriend recorded the interaction. She walked out bawling after being treated like a thief. Rather than apologize or show any concern, Trey remained accusatory. My wife then spoke with owner Julia Butler, who was equally rude, confrontational, and dismissive. Businesses have every right to investigate theft. They do not have the right to presume a child is guilty without establishing the facts. A 15-year-old walked into this store excited to spend her own saved money and walked out sobbing after being made to feel like a criminal. The conduct of both management and ownership was disgraceful. I would strongly caution any parent before allowing their child to shop here.

Have you ever walked into a store and thought WOW.. this shop is full of love? Well this is what…read moreSimple Strands is. It's a small shop in a strip mall, but it is full of -everything-. If you want statuary, she has it (And it's reasonably priced). Do you need a new Tarot deck? She has at LEAST 40 decks. Do you need incense? It's there. How about jewelry? Plenty to choose from. I wasn't disappointed in what I saw. And trust me, I saw a lot! The owner works there from open to close, every day, and it is a labour of love! The store was in transition from Samhain to the next holiday, and it was cluttered, but if there was something I wanted, she knew just where it was. We had a lovely chat about the local new age population, about local covens and the acceptance/nonacceptance of her shop. It's sad when the Pagan populace is having to lecture the Christians on "Do unto Others, as ye would have done unto you." but she's had to do a lot of that, with kids and adults alike. I ended up buying a gargoyle who was just too cute to pass up, A small little monster who begged me to buy him and a present for a friend who's having a bit of trouble with the ladies. We'll see what happens with it. Do I reccomend Simple Strands? You bet I do. I'd come here every day if I lived in this area. Sadly I'm in Florida, but when I visit, you can BET I'll be back!

For Valentine's Day I wanted a couple sweet treats for my lovelies at home and picked out a PB/Choc truffle for my fiancé and two chocolate covered Oreos for my 15 yr old Oreo loving step daughter to be. $1-2 something each and the report was thumbs up for all! Well this store fills that void. Packing a little bit of everything into a small footprint. If you need to find a present for someone on your way to a dinner party on 14th and Juniper this is your savior. Coffee table books, , chocolates, and even stuffed animals if you are on your way to a baby shower. I have found Midtown branded socks and cocktail books here. The service is always friendly sky and attentive but not pushy. I have been in here a few time and didn't not buy anything. While that may not sound like a good thing it was. I never feel pressured that if I am mot 100% sure I want to get something I should not bother going in. With a constantly rotating inventory visiting frequently is a must. The feel is of a well curated family run museum gift shop!

I won't return though.

Thankfully, this target was only about a mile away from where I was so I was able to make a quick trip. I got there around 4pm on a Wednesday and there was plenty of parking.
