We stopped by for dinner while visiting Tallahassee to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Nice restaurant friendly staff. We had the fresh baked bread w shallot compound butter which was really good. Had the lobster bisque, potato leek soup n artichoke hearts. The soups tasted good. The artichoke hearts were ok.we're deep fried. For entrees had the spinach mushroom lasagna, ratatouille , rack of rack of lamb n filet mignon. Never had spinach mushroom lasagna n it tasted too. The ratatouille was good too. Lamb was v flavorful n so was the filet mignon . We topped it off w crème brûlée, key lime pie and double chocolate brownie. They were all generous portions n tasted good. Tx u for a great dinner

The restaurant is small, but not cramped. We were greeted and seated promptly and all the staff were very friendly. I thought the dishes seemed creative without going overboard and overall, the menu had selections that should please most groups (fish, chicken, seafood, salad, etc all on the menu). My rack of lamb was delicious and cooked perfectly (medium temp). I also enjoyed the couscous and vegetables, but I thought the dish was slightly over-salted. The rest of the meals our group chose seemed to be well received as well.

Found this restaurant on the internet and liked the reviews so we try it. On Sunday night, they were packed but we only waited about 15 minutes. Small restaurant with both inside and outside seating. Small but nice menu and the same for the wine list. Started with an Amuse Bouche, which was pulled pork over slaw, very good. My friend ordered the Chopped Wedge Salad with grilled chicken breast, iceberg lettuce, tomato, bacon, chives, fried onions, and blue cheese dressing. He enjoyed it. I opted for the Seafood Grill, gulf shrimp, jumbo sea scallops, fresh lump blue crab, grilled corn, onions, tomatoes, peppadew pepper, sweet potato, arugula, white wine, and basil. An usual dish packed with flavor, very good.

Mimi's Table offers a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes for a lovely dining experience. Their wine list is excellent, and our server even suggested dishes to pair with our selections, which we really appreciated. We began with a complimentary crab and white asparagus salad fresh and delicious followed by the rosemary bread with olive oil. The bread was fantastic: warm, fresh, and generously refilled. For my main, I chose the grilled pork chop. It was juicy but lacked the flavor I was hoping for. The mashed potatoes were light and tasty, though the collard greens weren't my favorite. Dessert was the key lime pie, but the crust-to-filling ratio felt off almost equal parts crust and filling so we ended up enjoying the filling on its own, which was excellent. I'd happily return for a bottle of wine and those starters, but the main course didn't quite justify the high price point.

Simply delicious! We had plans to dine in at this restaurant, but due to last minutes changes in our schedule, we weren't able to do so. Instead, we ordered our meals for pick up. I ordered the Trout Almodine with green beans, and mashed potatoes; my appetizer was the frito misto (fried calamari). My husband ordered the seafood grill (which he wasn't too crazy about), along with butternut squash soup. I had key lime pie as my dessert. I am looking forward to dining in next time. Can't wait to try another dish. I am sure I won't be disappointed!

The Saturday post Valentine's Day, we had a reservation at Mimi's Table to have a belated Valentine's Day celebration. Ethan was our server, and he was personable and polite. We started off by sharing a bottle of rosé, the bottle being so pretty I took a photo of it. We opted to begin with small appetizers of bread and olives. Both were fresh, and the oil accompanying them, only augmented their flavors. Upon eating these, we were presented with an amuse bouche that wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I think it'd have benefited from being warmed up. For our main dishes, we had the lasagna and the short ribs. I was surprised I chose lasagna as I kept looking at seafood that night, but it was a long day and I wanted something comforting. The lasagna was just that, along with hearty and tasty. I even wound up with leftovers. The short ribs weren't my dish, but they were inhaled. I was told that the dish, the food overall, was better than expected. This is high praise, considering my companion is typically quite picky, and when I chose this restaurant for our dinner, he wasn't too enthusiastic. He also let me know he had not been there in years because nothing stood out to him. I think it's safe to say after our visit, we will most definitely be back. I think it's just a matter of having the right occasion. Mimi's Table isn't cheap. I think dinner was close to $200 for two people, and well, unless you're rich, that is not an everyday meal.

Sparkling Rose Sangria with hibiscus and ginger

This is a high class restaurant in Tallahassee near the hospital. The restaurant has about 16 tables and bar area. Not much of capacity. The parking is at the back. After order of the food, the complimentary chef special with Mozzarella Cake was delivered to the table. The cake has good red sauce. I also got a glass of sparkling Rose Sangria with hibiscus and ginger. The drink is good. Ice is a bit too much. My main dish is the Australian Lamb Shank. It braise with red wine and Moroccan spices. It was deboned and easy to eat. The sides are couscous and grilled Brussels sprouts. The main is delicious. Overall experience is about 4.5 stars. Service is excellent. Food not required too much of wait. Portion of food is good.

Crispy Artichokes

I was very excited to try Mimi's table for the first time. I went for dinner with my friend. They started us with an amuse Boucher, zucchini with herbs and sunflower seeds that was unremarkable. We ordered the crispy artichoke with aïoli as a starter. We also ordered the Rosemary focaccia bread. The artichokes were good. The focaccia bread was phenomenal and it came with olive oil that had herbs and grated Parmesan in it. We also asked for butter and got a compound butter that was really tasty. Be worn that they do charge a dollar for the butter, which I wish they would've told us when we ordered it but it's only a dollar. We both ordered the red sangria, which was good, but I would have liked some fruit. For dinner I ordered the rack of lamb. Tender, and had a very tasty sauce on the top. It came with couscous, which wasn't memorable and crispy brussels sprouts that seem to only have a crisp on the outside layer, but it had Parmesan sprinkled on the top which did help. My friend had the special melon gazpacho, and the pasta dinner with chicken. She loved both of them, especially the gazpacho. Overall, it was really tasty food and I look forward to going again. The customer service was wonderful. Emil did a great job.

Collard Greens, Pork Chop, and Mashed Potatoes

I love this restaurant! I took my wife here for her 30th birthday and it was an amazing experience. It really gives you a fine dining experience unlike any other in town. For our appetizer, we had the Frito Misto, which had a combination of calamari, peppers, and artichoke hearts. They were deep fried and served with marina sauce. The flavor could've been a little more strong but it was still good. They also brought us a cheese combouche (sp), compliments of the chef, which was good as well. For my entree, I had the grilled pork chop with collard green and mashed potatoes. The pork chop was sensational! I loved the flavor of it and was so juicy. The texture was good too; I like a little char on mines. The collard greens were sweet, which was a little different for me. I though the mushroom sauce from the pork chop was a good compliment for the mashed potatoes. For desert, we shared a slice of key lime pie. It was very good. I had the LaLa Land IPA from Proof Brewing it was a good complement to the meal. Also the ambiance was great. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Tallahassee!

Filet mignon with added scallops

Thoroughly enjoyed my second trip to Mimi's Table to celebrate my birthday a few days early and Valentine's Day as well. I enjoyed the flounder with a side of scallops. My husband had their braised short rib. We ended the meal by sharing a warm brownie topped with vanilla ice cream. Our server, Derrick, was so attentive by keeping our beverages filled and making sure our meal and experience were excellent.

Given that it was graduation weekend, we tried to give them some grace--but by the time we left, we were still hungry and pretty frustrated. After being seated, it took over 15 minutes for our server to take our drink order. She did mention she needed a few minutes, but 15+ felt excessive. Our appetizers even came out before my parents' wine arrived. We ordered the lamb meatballs and deviled eggs--both were just okay, but overall lacked flavor. Our apps arrived around 7:45 PM, and we placed our entrées shortly after. During the long gap between apps and dinner, we witnessed a few tense interactions between the host who seated us and our server. The host came across as very abrupt and rude, and honestly, we felt for our server in that moment. Our entrées didn't arrive until around 9 PM. While our server stopped by a few times to apologize and say the food would be out soon, we noticed multiple tables who were seated after us receiving their meals first--which was frustrating, especially as we were getting really hungry. We were close to leaving when our food finally arrived. The French onion soup had virtually no flavor--it was so disappointing I didn't eat it. I mentioned it to the server, and while she apologized, it wasn't removed from the bill despite clearly being untouched. The risotto was fine but again lacked flavor. The only somewhat enjoyable dish was my brother's chicken pesto, but even that came out room temperature. Overall, it was a disappointing experience--especially for what was supposed to be a celebratory dinner.

Here is where we go for that special occasion. Tonight Carson was our waiter and he has years working here for Drew (Alas absent tonight), Savour's owner. Carson knew the menu cold along with favorite recommendations. Drinks were excellent and they have a great wine list (although the "by the glass" list was pretty short). We elected to split the Wedge salad (trust me it's more than enough for a $3 up charge) and had the Whipped Feta Cheese with Pita to go with the salads. Charcuterie board was not on the menu tonight. Since Christmas is around the corner and a Prime Rib looms, we elected to forgo steaks. Carson described the Scallops and the description matched the dish exactly. Four big scallops with a great sauce mounded on a bed of fresh corn and (sorry I didn't see what else was there). I had the fresh fish (blackened Flounder) in a New Orleans spicy sauce and rice (I'm not doing this justice). Carson advised this was spicy and it was. It was out of this world. A home run by the Chef (please come out some evenings and say hi - and take a bow). Dessert was a Lava cake with ice cream, one of 4 desserts offered tonight. Trust me, if you like gooey chocolate (like having a chocolate soufflé), this was the keeper. Service was impeccable. We missed Drew welcoming his guests but his team has been there a long time and were quick seating us. Carson was everything you could ask for in a waiter. Fully knowledgeable about the food (he started in the kitchen years ago), checked back often, staged the timing perfectly (how rare is that!) and we are sure to ask for him again. A great evening and the rain had stopped by the time we were leaving. Of course we will be back.

Last night we came to celebrate my son's birthday. We were seated promptly for our reservation. Service was great with our server telling us if the specials (the daily blue and the yellowtail collars they had as an appetizer). We ordered a round of drinks for the table. All was going well. The smoked fish dip was good - a solid performer. We especially liked the pickled veg that came along side it. Our mains consisted of the daily blue, two had the new chicken sandwich, and I ordered the duroc aged pork chop. Liam's is fancy now, with mains not coming with sides. This certainly cranked up the bill. I had the pork chop, which was really small despite the declared weight and the price of $45. The taste was good, but didn't really impress me. The daily blue had skin that was charred, but the fish part was good. My daughter wasn't impressed with that. The chicken sandwiches, however, were a hit. Go figure. All but the daily blue ordered a side dish. Two had the mashed potatoes, which were good, I ordered the side with stringy cheese, prosciutto, peaches, and sliced peppers. No flavor. I get the bill and there is a $9.40-something charge in there for a "non-cash transaction". Also, my two drinks were charged a dollar more than the menu price. With everything there at a premium price (a larger and much better pork chop can be had at St James for more than $10 less - with sides!), everything is a la carte, and a silly charge for not having cash means I'm done with Liam's. The place where I discovered my first and favorite scotch, a love for unique cheeses, and great cooking techniques has been outdone by at least one local competitor while increasing prices and serving less. It's a shame, but they never seem to be full, so instead of improving value and delivery, they've gone to increasing prices.
