The worst manicure I have ever had. None of my nails are the same length or shape. She didn't even let me soak my right hand, not surprising that my cuticles are jagged on that hand. The shortest hand massage, it wasn't even long enough to work the lotion into my hands. Even the other customers mentioned their shock at how fast my manicure was over. The first 2 or 3 times I went here, it was great. The last time was not great. My tips were barely glued on and they were glued on unevenly. I said something she said she would fix it, she didn't. My nails are thick, chunky, and uneven on the ends. They popped off after about 9 days. I am soo disappointed because for the amount they charge, they need to do better. read more

I went there and the place was really dirty. They did not wipe down from previous client, there was clippings and nail dust on table and the nail drying things were dirty. Gave me the creeps. I would not go back. Everything should be sprayed and wiped down after each client especially with all the viruses going around. read more

Mimi's Nails is the best in Sequim. They're professional and so sweet. Mimi is great at following inspiration and giving you a design you'll love, and Felix gives the absolute best pedicures. They recognize you each time you go in, and have many regulars for a reason. They also did my 4 year olds nails and toenails and had great patience with her. read more

Last minute had to make an appointment there as my usual lady double booked at a different salon.... and I got the short straw. So I figured why not? The pics looked amazing...... Got my appointment for 2:15 pm showed up at 1:50 to pick my colors etc and didn't get seen until 3:45 and then had to wait as the lady worked on two others and myself... i told her that I have a misshapen nail on my middle finger. Not a problem. But she glued the rest Of the nails on crooked and told me it's my fingers.... Like ok then not all five fingers are misshapen just the middle one lol. Then I asked for thicker acrylics and got a super thin layer.... After 4 days my acrylics started lifting and a week and a half later I'm currently missing three nails..... not sure I'll be going back tbh. read more

Mimi and Jimmy have good skills and seem to be aware of treatments that are damaging to our nails. But ever so often there are people doing nails that I don't recognize. The last manicure, a woman I didn't recognize ground my nails down into the nail beds. I needed to seek medical care for my thumb nail that was badly damaged and very painful. I took antibiotics for a week and now have a fungus and may need to have my nail removed. The other nails are were ground so thin they are constantly breaking and splitting. Unfortunately I won't return to Mimi's. My advice to customers is don't allow use of electric nail files. I recommend to Mimi to book appointments with one manicurist only instead of having multiple manicurists work on one customer during an appointment. read more

I got a pedicure and this was my second time. They set the first appointment in the morning at 9 and showed up late and didn't even acknowledge they were late. The pedi itself was really good, but then another client came in, so my gal switched to her and a guy came to do the polish. Worst polish job ever. About 10 minutes later, someone else came over and put my shoes back on which damaged the polish even more. Well more than an hour later, the polish was still not firm which tells me he put it on really thick. Not sure if I would go back or not. Hard to find a good pedicure in that town. read more

No manicure with a "gel manicure"she only removed my old polish, and reapplied new. I asked for short nails and they are long. Same for my toes. I asked for short and they were left long. I had my newborn with me and they were very accommodating towards me and when my nail tech saw my baby starting to get uncomfortable she made time for me to care for him. I had an appointment for mani pedis the day before my wedding and it was a horrible experience in what should've been a relaxing moment. The man working on my maid of honor was obnoxiously flirting with her and making her uncomfortable. I showed them a picture of what I wanted for my jails and they told me they couldn't do that and then when I was looking for something else they treated me like I was dumb, and that they do that all the time. And the worst for last, the woman taking off my SNS was holding the dremel to my nails and burning me, and I told her several times to stop doing so. Then she slipped and severely cut my ring finger. While she was trying to stop the bleeding she was blaming me for moving and doing this to myself. So I had an awful gash on my ring finger on my wedding. I do NOT recommend this business. read more

I was very disappointed with Mimi's. My appointment was at 10:30. They had me go to a pedicure chair at 10:45 and turned water on. I sat there for 10 more minutes while the two ladies were working on other clients. She finally started on me a little before 11. While she was working on me her daughter woke up and she left me for about 10 minutes to tend to her daughter. So, I didn't get the massage on my right leg. I got the least expensive pedi and it was still $50 including tip. That's a lot of money for not getting my full uninterrupted pedicure. I will gladly pay more if I it's better service. read more

Terrible service! I went in asking for acrylics and she started doin the powdered dip. I told her the powdered dip doesn't stay on for me, I've tried it several times. She said her product was different. I tried to tell her I wanted acrylics but she totally ignored me!! My nails were not all the same length. I asked her not to take length off, just square them up. She didn't listen. Mimi speaks very good English, it was not a language barrier. Needless to say my nails were coming off and chipping right away. I went somewhere else within a week and got them soaked off and redone beautifully! Also not a relaxing setting. You have the man do most of the prepping, he doesn't say a word, and Mimi comes in for the rest. They trade back and forth. Not a relaxing situation! read more

I have been coming to Mimi's for over a year for pedicures for $25. I have only seen Mimi and she is so nice and gentle on my feet. The fact that there is always a view of Liberty Bay and she keeps windows and doors open for proper ventilation are bonuses in your experience. Right now they are remodeling and her place will be all done by the end of July 2019. Bigger windows to see the water and a new look inside will only make Mimi's a better nail experience in downtown Poulsbo! Worth a visit!!! read more

I went to the Mimi's Nails to get a pedicure, but before that I went to see the Salon and asked Jimi how much the cost and he told me $ 40. I was not too happy about how high the cost. I just moved from Encinitas Ca. and they charge me only $21 there. So, I was shocked but, I liked the atmosphere and the cleaned area. I looked up at their web site and they only had $33. for pedicure. When I got there I told the girl who greeted me about the price in their web site, which she was surprised and told me they only charge $35. Quite a discrepancey on the price. But, I went along when ''Darling" the lady who started giving me the service was called. She cut my nails well, and did the cuticles, but she didn't scrub my feet to remove the callas. Then she massaged my feet and my bottom legs very well. She finished with the nail polish doing a great job on that. I paid the $35. and $8. on tip for her. Overall it was more than I have ever paid for a pedicure. But, I guess the demand for a good Pedi and Mani is great here in Sequim, WA. read more

Worse experience ever! I am 67 years old from Southern California and have been having my nails and feet done since I was 20. This place should be reported! Did not use liners in the tub, some them wash it out with a squirt product. I asked if the instruments were autoclave prior to each customer, saw no evidence! Cuticles on my feet poorly done, cuticles on my nails poorly done. Took her 5 minutes to due my nails, yet due to a party of 6 coming in another 10 minutes to paint a clear coat. My husband with me for a pedicure and the pedicurist cut his nails and nicked his skin. I am applying antibiotic cream to the area, since I am very concerned about the cleanliness of this place! I was trying to tell the pedicurist she needed to pay more attention to my cuticles however she does not speak (or chooses not to) any English. Terrible experience! I need to find another pedicurist to clean up this mess. read more

If you're looking to get your eyebrows waxed this is a great place to go, especially since its under $20. Salon appeared very clean and it didn't have that over powering nail polish remover smell that some do. The owner Mimi is very sweet and does a great job at shaping your brows to your face. Not sure why I bother making appointments I still wind up waiting for longer than I planned to. Went in for polish removal and the basic pedicure figuring it would take under an hour. 1 hour 15 minutes later I truly had to leave so paid for full pedi but did not have time for polish to be applied. Should have planned for at least 1.5 hours and assumed some wait time regardless of appointment time. The fellow was rather unpleasant and gruff but that is less important to me than getting in/out in a timely manner. Gel polish removal with dremel tool on toes and 8 partial fingernails $10. But when I got home I realized there still is old polish on several toes lol. Standard Pedi $30 with or without polish. Looking over my toes the overall pedi is definitely a B- at best. Looking a bit rough, actually. I usually would have added a 20% tip but decided against it. Moving on! read more

I give 2 stars for the simple fact that Mimi herself does great nail work. I have had the hardest time finding a decent nail salon on the peninsula; Miami's is the 3rd place. I tried Mimi's once, she did a great job. I came back, she did another great job! The only thing that frustrated me was the wait time. A 45-minute acrylic fill takes almost 2 hours because they're so unorganized and crowded. I came back for a third time and was treated horribly. Jimmy barked orders at me and made me feel stupid. When it was time to wash my hands, I used the preferred sink and sat down - but he had started a manicure on somebody else and continued to do that for quite some time while I waited. I'm pregnant so, naturally, I had to use the bathroom - made that quick, washed my hands and when I came out he scolded me for washing my hands again!! He turned a fan on and told me to put my hands in front of it to dry. Literally for ten minutes while he finished the other lady's manicure. He was so rude to me and so nice to everyone else, I felt awful because I couldnt figure out what I had done to make him treat me that way. I've been doing my nails for 16 years - and I've NEVER had someone do that. After an hour and a half he finished and they were SO BAD. I looked like o had dinosaur hands, and not to mention THEY ALL BROKE - within a week. UGH where the heck do I get my nails done in this place?? read more

Mimi and her brother Jimmy are the very best nail specialists I've ever encountered and their procedures and equipment meet a very high standard of cleanliness. As an RN I can tell you I am not easily impressed by infection control management in a nail salon. In addition to first rate cleanliness, Mimi's has unbeatable ventilation - try to find a chemical odor in that shop! Mimi and Jimmy understand the hazards to their health and ours when a nail salon is poorly ventilated. This brother and sister team are outstanding professionals. I had a nail gel manicure and it was beautifully and skillfully applied and best yet it looks the same as it did when I left the shop 8 days ago! I feel if prices were going up, it should be at next service. When I made the appt, a pedicure was $25. When I walked in, I should have been told the price went up. Daughter actually wanted to go back for her wedding so we both had toes done. They didn't even say Congrats or anything when we said she was getting married tomorrow. Are the employees Cyborgs? When o call and ask when they have an opening for a fill, and I'm told a certain time, I expect to be seen at that time rather than bust my butt to get there on time only to wait for a half hour. What a fiasco! I made an appointment 36 hours in advance. I got there and no one knew what I wanted. I was clear that I wanted a pedicure and a powder dip. I asked to see the colors so my nails and toes would match. I waited for 20+ minutes only to find out that my dip colors would not be even close. I had 3 different people work on my nails. I've been to Mimi's several times in the last few years, but the last couple visits have been disappointing. They were overbooked and shorthanded. 2 people (one of them seemed a little inexperienced) trying to take care of up to 10 customers). My manicure appointments took time to get started, but were rushed toward the end. I called yesterday to make a manicure appointment and was told to remove all the polish/gel powder myself before coming in. Is that no longer part of the service? I'll find someplace else. read more

I have never had a gel manicure last more than three days. I dont baby my nails so its probably a lot my fault. However, my gel mani from here lasted a full two weeks. Im honestly amazed.
