Penny is actual owner of Danny nail. She has been doing my nails for 16 yrs now. Her place is conveniently located, lots of parking. Prices are reasonable. I took my husband in with me for his every 3 month pedicure. I go monthly. Our service as very good with attention to detail, personal preferences and best of all you can tell she is a huge part of this community. I got a pedicure with no polish as I am giving my nails a breather after 4 straight years of polish while traveling fulltime. Hubby got pedicure PLUS blue polish as a match to his friend who gets them polished as well. We laughed and had a great time. My favorite.... Pennys hands are magic massage hands for my tired nursing legs. I feel rejuvenated and pain free after my service. Quality of her business is top notch and a don't miss. I went hear for a fill & was very disappointed..the place was dirty, equipment was dirty. The guy who did my nails didn't wag his hands between clients and his hands and fingernails looked dirty. His technique was poor - got the polish on my skin on every nail, then used his fingernail to scrape it off. He didn't fill the edges of my nails, leaving visible ridges. I wish I had the positive experience the other reviewer had as it was her review that I went by in deciding to go to Dannys. I went to get a mani-pedi buff nails no polish. The man who I assumed was going to do my nails did not say Hi, instead he nodded to where his station. Throughout he maintained a loud conversation with his co-worker friend followed by with intermittent crashing giggles. An old file was used as he began. When I remarked upon that I thought he didn'thear me as he was still conversing with his friend, few momnets went by when he stated the file didn't touch Anyones skin so he is not required to use a new one. Again the tool he used for the cuticles just was in his drawer when he got it. I remarked again and he said "listen, we are not oneof those salons that are exoensive.". Further, on his one hand he has about an inch long pinky fingernail that kept touching against my hand, and I felt repulsed. The filing he did was done well. The cuticle work was not done painlessly as his cuticle board caused three scrapes along my finger's ridges. Finally, the buffing was superficially done. For me, going back to Danny's is not going to be on my list. read more

Got great service today. The place was clean and i saw lots of regulars during my visit. When I walked in there was space for me in one of the massage pedicure chairs but I did have to wait about 15 minutes before I could start. They have uv gel polish and matching regular polish right next to each other on the rack to make for easy matching mani-padi's. They offer reasonably priced pedicures, 30 for basic, 35 hot stone, 40 herbal. The hand massage was much better than the hot stone so I will stick with the basic for next time. Danny did my nails as I recently went to a different salon for thin and natural looking acrylics and ended up with one hand much thicker than the other. He used a fine dremel to get them much thinner and I assured him I would come back for all my fills. He was quick and skilled, I have no pronlem.coming back. I will say that I saw multiple men also getting pedicures, there were three male estheticians, and football was on all of the tv's clearly visible from the pedicure chairs. I received no manicure today (only acrylic repair and shellac) so I cannot speak to that nor waxing services. read more

I didn't have nails for years after moving here from California. Was so happy when I found Penny, she does amazing work! I started getting my nails done in about 2001-2002. When I first moved to Seattle I would wait and get my fills when visiting my parents. For a while my schedule was crazy and i didn't have nails for a while. I now spend 90% of my time in sequim and the other 10 in Seattle. Thank God I am back and get to see Penny for my nails! I never found anyone I liked as much in Seattle! Right in the middle of town which is convenient. I had a different salon I frequented but I decided to try out Danny's the other day & was not disappointed. I initially walked in to schedule an appointment for later that day, but she said she could do my nails right after the last was with who was almost done. She had me started in less than 10 minutes. In addition my gel nails were very grown own & I had clipped them on my own cause I refuse to rip them off. It was no problem for her to get those off. I got one of the cat eyes colors & it's beautiful. In addition, I decided to get my eyebrows waxed for the first time, something I was a bit nervous to do. Luckily, it was quick & rather painless & she did an amazing job. I will be going back. read more

I got ripped off. My first time there was for a full set of Gel nails-40.00 second time a fill-25.00. This time I was quoted 25.00 and ended up paying 45.00. I was told it was because I asked for purple tips and a sparkly top coat. By the time I was told all that the nails where all ready done. The price list didn't even have a 45.00 amount on it. Yes the nails are nice and very pretty, and yes she did a great job, but the price was way to much.Also found out I have a few friends that go there and they have gels too, but they only pay 25.00 for a fill. Also a lady came in for pedicure and Brian said 5 ( I didn't hear the rest) she asked $5.00 and they started laughing at her and said no 5 min. So very rude. read more

I was mocked for not buying the expensive pedi package as my partner did (wasn't asked about which package either, just assumed) and was charged 30 for color change and nail trim. Pedi was 18 mins long. Will NEVER suggest nor go again. read more

I've only been here once but I was very happy with the nail job. I like gel polish (shelac/gelish) only, and this place had it. I tried another place in town that didn't have it. Lily did an awesome job on my nails. I wish the place was a little more nice on the inside, but I'll probably go back there anyway. read more

Just sooo sad! We have been going to Penny for a lot of years and were quite happy with the service and environment. Also, it gave me a chance to practice my Vietnamese language that I learned during two military tours in Viet Nam. Not only has the quality of their service seriously deteriorated but they talk about their customers in a very rude manner. Just because they are in a relatively small town, they should be cautious about exposing their improper comments to the general public. After experiencing their rudeness, we would not return...even if Penny and her associates had a total change of heart!!! read more

This was my second trip to Danny's (the first was for my wedding a couple of years ago), and I've been more than satisfied both times. After going to another place and receiving one of the worst acrylic sets in the history of manicures (read my review), I bailed on my sister on the morning of her wedding to have my nails fixed at Danny's. I love these people, I truly do. The nail tech (sorry, I didn't catch his name) who took off the nasty first set was gentle and careful. Instead of trying to chip, peel, or chisel the acrylic away, he soaked and filed and soaked and filed until it was all gone. Then, he put a new set on. It was a thing of beauty. He shaped the tips to make my fingers look good, the filling was perfect, and he managed to keep from killing my cuticles. Now, he did brush against my injuries from that other awful place, reopening the scabs, but he cleaned them off and put a little bit of iodine on the sores. I wish the other place had been as careful! I live in California now, and I've been searching the whole Bay area for a worthwhile nail place. Nobody here measures up to Danny's. You Sequim people are so selfish. How dare you keep the only good nail place on the West Coast all to yourselves? Share with us deprived CA people! I have used Danny's for 5 years. All of the employees are very good, but I prefer Nancy. The paint, chairs and fixtures have recently been updated. I would recommend an appointment. They have become very busy. read more

The gal didn't introduce herself or welcome me to moving here. After she was done, she walked off to text on her phone. We have been going to Danny's and enjoying having our nails done by Penny. UNFORTUNATELY, those days are over as both of us had TERRIBLE experiences. They must have changed the management or something as it is now the worst that we have encountered while travelling across the country. Noj one can treat their clients this way and expect their business to succeed. My experience here was very bad. The staff was flippant and unprofessional. The work I had done was poorly done. The boy (I use this word because he was very immature) who did my nails was astoundingly rude to me. He had no filters or professionalism, was impatient and aggressive. Not only was he insulting but he was catty. The further the appointment went along the worse he got. He was insulting my nail color choice, to ME, and then laughing at me, with the other workers there. It was really strange and felt like being back in high school. Whoever owns this place should be careful to hire more skilled, communicative, courteous and professional staff, because the behavior of the staff that I witnessed would drive a small business right into the ground. I would not go back to this establishment under any circumstances. Worst salon experience ever. read more

I will never go here again. It has taken a month for my nail beds to stop splitting and peeling after a brutal set of acrylic nails.

OK, I was back in town for a baby shower and stopped in for a quick pedicure. i liked that they fit me right in, but having failed to read the reviews I wasn't aware of their quality issues. I am now. They continually grabbed cutting and cleaning utensils out of a drawer - they didn't look sterilized - I'm not saying they weren't, but it was doubtful enough that it made me nervous. The gal that did my manicure didn't say two words to me but I did hear her speak to another customer and she did speak English. Another gal working on a customer next to us laughed hysterically at everything that was said the whole time I was there - and loudly. It was $30 for a very bad pedicure, and it just seemed very pricey for Sequim. The polish was wearing off the tip of my toes and chipping by that evening - and I was in flip flops - there should have been no wear marks at all. Very frustrating. read more

About as blah as you can get for a manicure. My nail edges were rough, the hand massage extremely skimpy. I asked for a french manicure and was told "They don't last more than two days. We've tried everything." I've had MANY french manicures at nail salons that weren't anything fancy that were able to give me a french manicure lasting a week. I would rather stay home and paint my own nails. read more

Unfortunately, I won't be back. Very unfriendly, felt as if I was a bother to them....I wouldn't even call it a pedicure that I paid for, more of a polish change at that. Always do a good job. Have been going to Danny's Nails for over 10 years. They seem to have a big turnover in staff but, they all do exceptional pedicures and manicures. For artificial nails I only trust Penny and Brian. read more

My husband and I wanted to make appointments over the phone for pedicures. They replied that they couldn't take us for another hour so we decided on a time. When we walked in they barely acknowledged our presence but we sat in the pedicure chairs anyway. Our appointment time came and went with no conversation from anyone. When we asked when they would start they ignored us. We walked out but no one seemed to care. There were about 8 pedi chairs and only 2 patrons in them so I guess slowly but surely they are losing business and this proves why. We live in Sequim, WA. read more

They do an ok job just don't bother to make an appointment because they will throw you over for a walk-in...they already know you're a sure thing so they'll put you on the dirty couch until someone decides to saunter over. They do have a TV so there's that to make up for lack of personality or professionalism. read more

THE WORST. Owner as well as techs appeared annoyed that I was there to spend money. I should have turned and left, as this was my first inclination. DID NOT CLEAN basin after clients.
