I asked around to some locals and they ALL referred me to SkinCare Suites Spa and I'm so glad they did. As soon as I walked in the doors I was in love with the atmosphere of this spa. It is tranquil, relaxing and everything I want from a spa. They carry lots of retail skin and beauty products, including the full line of Bare Minerals so there are lots of items to shop for. The nail stations up front I think is a cute way to offer nail services without shutting you into a treatment room and the stations are far enough away from the treatment rooms to where conversions from them cannot interrupt a private service. I've not yet received any nail services, but it does seem like a lovely place for them. On the website Jodi was the only listed esthetician so I was shocked when I had Larissa on my first visit. I've now been to see Larissa three times and I'm thrilled to say I've found my new esthetician on the peninsula. Larissa is so fantastic, she literally leaves my skin glowing after each facial and honestly she gives my brows the best shape they've had in years. She also shapes my husbands brows and she is great at cleaning his up without making them look androgynous. She is friendly and gives great product recommendations and even gave me samples of products to try. I wasn't looking to add any products to my home routine but after trying some of their lines, I've added three Epionce products and I'm thrilled with them even three months down the line. During my first facial Larissa explained the Hydrafacial to me and I decided to do some more research prior to booking an appointment. I have dealt with adult acne for the past 10 years, I have hyperkeratinization and rosacea making my skin a challenge to deal with. After a few hours of internet research I called to book my first Hydrafacial. It was an incredible facial and so fast! Never with rosacea have I been able to walk directly out of a facial and have my skin be glowing. Usually it needs a few hours to calm down but I was not red or purple even, I just had beautiful, glowing skin. It is more expensive so I am having my alter my normal facial schedule from every 6 weeks to every 8, but my skin did so well with it that is the facial service I want each and every time. My only gripe with SkinCare Suites Spa is that the receptionists have never asked if I wanted to rebook a service. I always have to initiate my next appointment, which has to be the smallest gripe ever, but I want readers to know that I am not totally biased to this place. If you're thinking out coming in for anything, just give them a try. I even waited until after three appointments to review to ensure my initial thoughts were not just a fluke, this place really is as great as it seems.

Unfortunately, the result looked nothing like what I asked for. The highlights were very brassy, uneven, and harsh instead of soft and blended like the photo I showed. To make matters worse, the stylist rushed the appointment because she had to leave early that day, which I was never informed about beforehand. Because of this, I was sent out of the salon with wet hair, so I couldn't even see the final result properly before leaving. When my hair dried, it looked so bad that I had to go back the next day just to turn it back to dark hair because the highlights were so poorly done. On top of that, I had to pay extra to fix it, which was really frustrating considering the original service was already not done correctly. Overall, this experience felt rushed, unprofessional, and very disappointing. When you show a clear reference photo and trust a stylist with your hair, you expect a result at least somewhat similar to what you asked for. Instead, I ended up paying more money just to correct the damage. I would not recommend based on my experience. Oh ya, one thing i forgot to mention is she stopped drying my hair because it was "too wet" and taking "too" long to dry, so she started straightening my hair while it was still wet. My luck of the draw was Brittany. Having my hair trimmed and styled is therapy for me. And Brittany fit my niche. She is a talented stylist who loves what she does. And it showed. Sorry, but to blame it on that instead of possibly that you left me under the dryer for an extreme amount of time and didn't check my hair very often while you went to the back. As I was sitting there, I was getting concerned as no other person every giving me a perm left me sitting that long under a dryer. Needless to say my hair got extremely damaged by this failed perm. I believe it was due to carelessness and lack of knowledge. It has been over four months later and I am still trying to "fix" her mistake. She did not own that she wasn't monitoring timewise, etc. She was very defensive and even got her mom to blame using Pantene shampoo twice (two times, not more than that).
