My nail came off and underneath of the nail was infected and had puss coming out of it. I called to get a refund and told her that I think she should refund my money. She said to me that she doesn't do refund or she wouldn't have a business. I told her she needed to clean her tools because when I got them done the tools they cut my nails with they put back into the same box that said clean. Than she hung up on me. Spent 100 dollars on the worst job I have ever had. In fact it was so bad I left and went down to another place to have them fix my nails right after. So weird I asked for a mani to go with a new full set of nails and the man who helped me refused to do it and said I did not need one! He was rude and kept telling me I did not know what looked good because I was not a professional nail person. The system won't allow it, but zero stars is my rating for this shop! I'm writing at 2:00 a.m. because my toes are hurting after receiving the worst pedicure of my life. The operator cut my nails so short that there is nothing left protecting my toe tissue (no outgrowth left), and I am concerned that I will develop ingrown areas as my nails return to a normal state. As the operator began working I said "I like my nails rounded." He said "NO." The other operators and clients laughed, so I thought he was kidding. He clipped down adjacent to the quick on my great toe. I said "Don't cut anymore," and he proceeded to cut into the sides of the nail. I should have left the shop at that point. Then he used a Dremel tool. The vibration tickled and he became annoyed that I couldn't tolerate it. As he began on my other foot he jammed the pointed clipper into my toe and I jumped. He yelled that he couldn't work on me and walked away. Another operator (his wife?) took over. It was too late. My nails were clipped to the quick (she didn't listen either), and it will be weeks before they grow to a decent length. read more

Where do I start? I will never go back there. The man was rough. In a pedicure he pulled a hangnail out instead of clipping it. When I said ouch, he laughed. He did not massage my feet or calf or put lotion on after. Was so fast and not relaxing at all. I was very disappointed in that. The color he put on my nails was not the color I asked for. He did not do two coats. one nail had a huge dent in it. When I pointed that out, his wife came over and looked at it, and then they started yelling at each other. It was extremely awkward. The woman did my two daughters and their nails were really nice. I think it's just the man who isn't very good. He didn't do any work on my cuticles and did not even massage my hands or put any lotion on at all. And I noticed the tools in the bucket for the pedicure had been used before. After my pedicure, he rinsed the tools in the water that my feet had been soaking in and put them back in the bucket. The woman is very, very nice and I suspect I would have a different experience with her, but I won't go back. They charge me $210 and then he asked me for a tip of $20 cash. I went last minute to have 3 nails repaired. During the session I was transferred between two people who were quarreling in Vietnamese. The man kept saying "Do Ma ....." , which means mother fucker in Vietnamese. I'm not sure if he was cursing at me or just talking shit in general. It made me very uncomfortable. They did a sloppy mismatching shape and poor polish job, much of the polish was missing. They would said they would have to redo it but never did. No pride in their work. Just in it for the money. Went in to repair one nail. The product I had on should be filed off then soaked if needed. The nail was broken down to short length but the product was still on my nail bed VERY securely. I asked her to file off then soak if needed but she insisted on prying it off which was painful. I asked her not to pry off and she insisted. She then said "you do it, hurts less". The repair of the nail and reapplying of gel product went well and looks very nice to match my other nails but she was rude and insistent and didn't listen to my request....plus it hurt. Most of there nail polish is expired they don't clean there equipment neither did you know that there supposed to use a brand new nail file on you every time not re use... yeah..... I had some majorly chipped chrome gel nails and was not about to pull off 6 layers by my lonesome. I called Kim's and super friendly Anna picked up. They were closing but she said I could come on by. When I arrived her husband was finishing up a client. Anna removed my gels with a quickness using the machined buffer and some type of acetone soak, but it wasn't acetone. It was the fastest removal process. She took care to smooth my nails and did a great job trimming and prettying them before lacquer application. I think that OPI "Significant Other Color" is actually more of a lavenderish pink and green duo chrome, but what was left in the bottle was a pretty iridescent green/gold duo chrome which I love. I usu do my own mani, but being out of town and it had been 3 weeks, I was like--what the hay? Anna and her hubby are super friendly and I enjoyed chatting with them and their other client who had been going to them for years! Knew their kid and everything. That says a lot about a business. I'd definitely come back when back in sunny, pretty Sequim. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. I understand charging over $20-$30 for a QUALITY manicure but it was not whatsoever. My family and I are only here for a short trip and wanted to get our nails done together and have a fun relaxing time but the result was a painful and frustrating experience. After telling the women doing my nails that she was hurting me she ignored me, snatched my hand back to continue, and didn't change her technique. After she was done prepping my nails, the woman that painted them CUT my finger and really didn't seem to care. All of us asked for our nails to not be cut short which they didn't cut them but they filed them down to nothing.. $90 for pain and frustration.. what a joke. So glad we don't live around here cause we will never be back. I encourage all of you to find some place else where they will actually take quality care of you. read more

I went in there for a pedi and a set of nails, lady kept calling her husband to come and help her, she was all by herself. He came in with an attitude. He came over to me without washing his hands, grabbed my hands and I pulled back. Told him to go and wash his hands. He copped an attitude and came back and was rough and was just plain rude, he finished and she came back to polish my nails. Told me to wait 5 minutes and I proceeded to put my shoes on while the place was filling up. I threw my money in her basket proceed to walk out the door, they both followed me out YELLING YOU NO PAY !! She watched me throw the money in the basket. . My family and I wanted to find a place here in sequim where we could get our nails done every now and then. We decided to try out Kim's nails. When we first got there everything was going pretty normal. We sat down to get pedicures and the young man who did my nails did an amazing job at rubbing my feet and legs. There was an incident where a bee came into the shop and I was holding my niece, we wanted to get the bee away from her but the workers just kept trying to swat at it which could of ended badly. I was done getting my pedicure and the older gentleman came over to me snappedthat me and pointed to the seat he wanted me at. I was in shock that he snapped at me and he did it again until I got up and moved to his chair. then as he was doing my nails he was not gentle and the equipment he was using was not clean. When I was about done he went outside to smoke came back in to finish me up and did not wash his hands. He also then sneezed in his hands and came back to work on my nails without washing his hands... Its safe to say my family and I will not be going back. read more

Dirty, rude, poor quality gel polish application and dull cuticle nippers. The two women working were friendly but the man that did my manicure was not so much. He was using his extremely long thumb nails as tools which was kind of yucky. He got upset with me because I didn't understand what he was saying. My gel polish usually lasts at least 2 weeks, even 3n but this time only a week. Sequim doesn't have many options for nail salons and they accept walk ins, the other place we stopped was booked all day. I think I'll stick with Avalon Nail Bar even if it costs a little more. read more

Didn't see one of their techs wash their hands the entire time I was there, and the shop was full. The woman who gave me a pedicure hurt me repeatedly, and when I asked her to stop digging under my nails with the sharp object, she refused, pulling on my leg. I had to pull away to get her to stop. Stopped by and asked if they did the newest dip nail without using forms and they said yes so I made an appointment and went in the next day. First thing she did was CUT my own nails! Out comes the white plastic nail forms and I said no..I thought you did the new did, "oh no, always HAVE to use forms" At this point my own nails are cut so what do I do? Go ahead, I'm leaving on my trip day after tomorrow. I have never had this service before but my sister was with me and she was aghast. Woman kept saying I would love it. Well, I don't love it. I noticed all these little white flecks on the nail bed after she was done...almost like bubbles. I pointed it out and she said "oh, that's your nail...nothing I can do about your nail" My nails didn't have anything like that when I went in there! I paid her the $40...no tip, and left. I immediately went to another nail salon and showed them and they said it was poor application of product...very sloppy and should not have been sent away like that.
