French Pot Roast
Rachel P.

Service was great and very attentive without being annoying. A perfect place to have lunch with a friend and spend time catching up. This is a little pricier, but it's where you want to go for something a little bit nicer than typical chains surrounding it. The roast was amazing and the portion size was just right!

On our way for a Cigar Event, we decided to pregame with some brunch. Heard good things about Mimi's and decided to try it for myself. I can definitely say this was a perfect pick! Starting with the New Orleans themed decor (good choice, by the way), friendly and great servers. Even the Chef came out to make sure we enjoyed the food, and our needs were being taken care of. The Mimosa Flights were the absolute cherry on top. Great menu with plenty of suggestions. Whether you're there for breakfast, lunch, brunch, or dinner, you will not be disappointed. Great for dates, groups, and even family outings. Final thing, the muffins are amazing! The Pineapple Upside Down Muffin is definitely worth going back for. Well done, Mimi's Cafe

Really good French Pot Roast

Staff was really nice and accommodating. I also had a croissant and a French roast coffee and the hype is real, the coffee is really good. Highly recommend it. I tried the Dubai pancakes and they weren't that great. The place is cozy and they had something for everyone.

It's been years since I've been back, I have to say they have drastically improved from few years ago. The service was great, good options were huge as usual. The kids menu was a great price for so much food. Choice of a few options, they all come with type of meat, eggs, juice or milk, fruit and main entree. I ordered the egg white veggie omelette, added jalapeños and cilantro. Cooked well done. It came out perfect. Melissa was my waitress, she was kind and hardworking. The inside is beautiful and fun to look around. Love the French theme. I will definitely be back.

Smoked Salmon Benedict with steamed potatoes with avocado and added bacon. I also had the limitless mango mimosa.

Delicious! Great service! Not a long wait at all. Clean and nice private seating. Great place to go for a light or hearty breakfast of your choice. My waitress was very attentive, kind, and helpful. I'll be going back. It is one of my favorite breakfast spots in Murfreesboro.

Our server was a bit slow getting to the table. Once he started waiting on us he turned out to be marvelous. The food was slow to come out. For instance we get one dish at a time. Also had their Mamosa special it was tremendously good.

This place has been on my list for several months now so I stopped at the Buona in Murfreesboro on…read morethe way home from Cookeville. To give them a fair shake at a comparison to Chicago, I ordered two iconic Chicago staples, an Italian Beef and a Chicago Dog. First the beef, I ordered it with hot giardiniera and dipped. The beef was tender, flavorful and the peppers packed a pleasant heat. The bread was sturdy had a good flavor as well. Considering we are outside of Chicago, I'd go 4.5 stars. The Chicago dog looked and tasted legit complete with the neon green relish. For the dog I'd also go 4.5 stars. Seems like Murfreesboro might be sleeping on this great spot cause I was there at 6:30 on a Sunday evening and it wasn't packed. Highly recommend this spot when you are in the Boro to get your Chicago fix, it deserves our support!

Be prepared to read a magazine article length review of this establishment. Usually I do not review…read morechain or franchise restaurants, but this was so good, I made an exception. I was intrigued by a mail brochure, then their video. I like the place VERY much. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I reserve those for Italian restaurants with table cloths, vino, attentive waiters and opera playing in the back ground. It is based on FOUR visits because I liked it so much and did not want to give an incomplete review. First will be a detailed list of the dishes we tried and then I will get o ambiance and service at the very end. Here goes the food review first. Chicago Hot Dog. I'm not from Chicago and only know the signature food by reputation but my wife and I were impressed. The bun was very good with the poppy seed on the outside. Holding its own was a nice hot dog through the additional dressings. I ordered mine with the hot gardenia. It was delicious but instead of a vinegar base, it was a nice olive oil. French Fries Our family recognizes my wife as our resident expert on quality fries. She rated these as among the best she has ever eaten. I agreed with her that that they were crispy outside and fluffy inside. She added comments that they held up on the plate as she ate. Being crinkle cut, those fries tend to get soggy, but these retained their crispness through out. Chicago Beef Visiting their website you will see how they prepare their beef for meal. My wife indicated that it was fairly standard, but I drew me in. Admittedly, I have only tried a few of this type of sandwich. The things I liked about it was that it was juicy without soaking the roll and plate. It also had a nice flavor. Pasta On the wall in the store is a sign advertising that the pasta is fresh, never dried and that peaked my interest. Signature Rigatoni Marinara was the menu Item I chose and felt like it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever enjoyed. Thin, long pastas are classified by a number indicating their thickness. I could not find such a classification for rigatoni. While I may be a bit of an engineer, I studied the wall thickness of this pasta. Compared to what I buy in the grocery store, this had a thicker wall. It is important because the pasta was cooked al dente. The mouth feel of the thicker pasta and feel to the tooth was great. Do not feel I am discounting the sauce, but it was one of the best I think southern Italy would offer. Brownie On a whim, I grabbed a brownie because my wife did not want to stop at a candy store for me to get chocolate to go with my bourbon at home. It was light in texture, but incredibly full of quality chocolate flavor. It was great taste for taste, sip for sip. Beef and Gardenia Pizza Our fourth visit to justify my rating was with my wife, adult son and I. Surprisingly, she ordered the pizza choice because it was unique, Neither of us had gardenia on a pizza. Their Tavern Pizza is 10" and cut checkerboard style, not wedges, which was fine by us. The one pizza was enough for my wife and I. We both agreed that the Marinara sauce was the same as on the pasta. The pie was loaded with toppings. In fact, it was hard to get a true taste of the crust. It was also so loaded that she commented that it was a good thing we ate in the dining room instead of taking it home. If we took it home, she suggested, the copious toppings would totally soak the crust. Gardenia served here is in olive oil, not vinegar. As such, it gave a nice flavor to the pie. I thought my wife ordered extra cheese, but, no. That thick blanket is standard. The blend of toppings was just wonderful and the gardenia was just spicy enough. Margherita Pizza All pizza restaurants are judged by their Margherita pizza as far as my son goes. This pie was not traditional, so he simply gave it a "good" evaluation. He would rather get this pizza at other restaurants, but if he came back here, he would order it. Among his comments were that normally tomato slices were on the pizza, but this one had the diced tomatoes in this. Also, all the basil, while tasty was just piled up in the center instead of strewn all over the top. Now for service and ambiance. Of my trips, I was there a few times shortly after they opened for the day and once during a very busy time. Both times, the meal came out in a timely basis and the meals very fresh. On one trip, I ordered beer. The counter person was underage, and left to find a manager to complete the order. She was not clear in diction and we did not know why she left, but it was O Being new, it was very clean. Ambiance is very bright and well lit. Large windows give a good view of the area. Promotional signs and posters are informative and appropriate.

A Cut Above the Monday Blues…read more The Chop House has quickly become a go-to family favorite since my folks moved to Murfreesboro, whether I'm in town visiting or they're dining on their own. The food and service consistently hit the mark, and our latest visit was no exception. I was surprised by how bustling it was for a Monday night--the place was absolutely packed! There was a party of 30 near us, plus a group of 12 right next to our table celebrating a 2-year-old's birthday. It was great seeing everyone having such a special celebration, and despite how busy the team was, we were seated and served in a very reasonable timeframe. My mother made a reservation in advance, and the team graciously accommodated her request for a booth to help with her back issues. They are always wonderfully welcoming to her 5-pound service dog, who sits quietly right beside her. Everyone--from the staff to the fellow diners--was warm and friendly, which makes the whole atmosphere even better. I usually go for the prime rib sandwich, but this time I opted for the full prime rib dinner with soup and a baked potato. It certainly did not disappoint, though it was so generous I couldn't even finish it all. As one of the nicer spots in Murfreesboro, it's a wonderful choice if you're looking to celebrate a special occasion--or just enjoy a top-tier meal.

The Chop House has to be one of the best restaurants in town. Nice interior. Great bar. Friendly…read moreand accommodating staff. The manager greeted me kindly. The food was perfect and really not even that expensive compared to my home town. I started with a nice Cabernet. I had two in fact. I did not know that Tennessee has an extra tax (LBD - 15%) on alcohol sold by the glass! I thought Republicans were all about low taxes. I also enjoyed an absolutely delicious shrimp bisque. It was really good (and only $6 for a bowl). It was smooth and flavorful. In my neighborhood that would cost $15. My entree was a daily special, yellowfin tuna. It was nicely seared on the outside and sushi grade on the inside. I could really taste the healthy Omega 3's. The fish was served on a nicely flavored bed of long grain rice. A wonderful mango salsa topped the fish. The accompanying broccoli was perfectly steamed. This was only $26. I shall return again to this great place.
