I haven't been to Mimi's in years because their menu got boring. However, I got an email saying that they have revamped their menu with new items plus there was a coupon for buy 1 entree get one free. So why not give it another try. Service was abysmal, food was excellent (once they got the order right). The Waitress definitely needs to learn manners and work on her customer service skills. Snatching plates and storming off is something I'd expect from a teenager, not an older waitress who messed up an order. She made me feel like it was a burden to tell me what sides they offered, and couldn't be bothered to check if the corn dogs had dairy in them and my son has a dairy allergy. Beer Battered Fish & Frites - Hand-battered cod fillets with French fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. Fish very greasy. The fish might as well been 4 fish sticks. The tartar sauce tasted like mayo. Cloeslaw was drowned in dressing - soggy. Mimi's Café might learn to make great coleslaw from Lisa's Chicken. Bacon Avocado Sourdough burger Bread fried in oil - soggy & greasy. Disassembled the burger to eat the fixings. Meat was less than the better fast food meat in flavor. Ordered Bud Light and received a Miller Lite - Did not complain and drank the beer. On the reorder the instructions were made clear for a Bud Light. Was informed the restaurant was out of Bud Light. A Budweiser was ordered. The waiter returned with the information that there was no Budweiser. Salt in salt shaker was moist. Manager came by and asked how was the service and everything. Responded that service by Brandon was good but the manager moved on before a complaint was made about the food. Unable to find a direct email to this restaurant. It was nice to have the buy one get one free coupon. Other entrées have been much, much better - Salmon & Beef Pot Roast. Went here for a Sunday brunch at around 11. It was already packed and had a good 15 minute wait for a table for 2. We had a great waitress and the manager was friendly (he stopped at tables to talk to patrons). It took a looong time to get our food (since it was packed) and still tasted bland. This was our first time at this restaurant. We were given a gift card for our anniversary, and we were not disappointed! The service was outstanding. We had a little hiccup with our appetizer, but they took care of us! The food was delicious! Our server was so attentive, and kept us informed of everything going on. One of our favorite restaurants for lunch, so we tried it for our anniversary dinner. The salmon was excellent, moist and flaky. My wife had the chicken crepes and she said they were a little dry, needed an extra sauce to make them not so dry, but a good flavor. The waitress was excellent, saw to our every desire for our dining pleasure, worth as much to the dining experience as the food or the atmosphere. The food is a little pricey and the coffee/tea for $3.29 is a ridiculous price, even with refills. Overall a good dining experience and we will be back. read more

I like Mimi's. I appreciate that they offer some healthy options (not fried everything), portion sizes are a little large but not like some of the big bubba places and the prices are reasonable for what you get. My only complaint is we like to sit in the bar as it's usually quieter there and my husband and I like to talk to one another (phones are kept in off mode). The problem is there seems to be no dedicated bartender, the server who does the bar is also assigned tables in the north room. So the wait for any service can take awhile. Like to get some salt and pepper or a refill on the drink. Otherwise I think it's a great place to dine. read more

When we first entered the restaurant, we were seated immediately, so that was nice. The waiter politely told us he'll be right with us and we managed to get our orders in a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the coastal shrimp pasta, which at the time was a new menu item, and my friend had the strawberry shortcake crepe cake. After ordering, I was later informed that they ran out of linguine, so I made the pasta switch to penne. When the food arrived at our table, it looked gorgeous and smelled amazing. However, I can't exactly say the same for the taste. My pasta was too sour and not balanced at all. I get that the sauce is lemon based, but even lemonade has a hint of sweetness in it. The broccoli and heirloom tomatoes in the pasta was drenched in lemon juice and extremely acidic. It is only 7:00 on a Saturday night, so I don't know if this is how it's supposed to taste, or if the dish was rushed. I would not recommend this dish at all. My friend said her strawberry shortcake did not taste how she would expect it to. There was a zest of citrus in it that she prefer wasn't there, but the cake basically just tasted like normal cream cake. Would not come back. read more

My bookclub came to MiMi's for birthday brunch for one our members. It took 15 minutes before the waiter came to take our initial drink order. Another huge lag before the food order. We had to flag her down for refills on drinks. One lady ordered another mimosa and it was never delivered, when asked about the not delivered drink, the server said she should've reminded her. ??? Never returned after food delivery to ask it everything was ok and if we needed, anything else. Again another huge lag for the check. When we complained to the manager at the end of the meal, her response was, "I'm sorry you and your guests didn't have an enjoyable experience". Seems to me with a Tab of over 200 and an explanation the this was the birthday members first time a MiMi's, the manager would have a least offered to comp for her meal, offered a gift card or muffins or something. Instead she just wanted us gone. I have dined at Mimi more than 2 dozen times as I work near there and this is the worse experience ever. The previous posts are pretty nicely descriptive about this place, so I'll just cut to my 1st experience here. Friday night at 9 PM, there was a wait of about 20 minutes. We asked for the menu while waiting and decided on what we were going to split since the portions seemed to be on the American side! As soon as we got seated, our waiter Anthony shows up for our drink orders, and we notified him that we are ready to order not only our drinks, but also our appetizer and meal, and that we were in a hurry. We ordered the Corn Chowder Soup and the signature Chicken Pot Pie and we told him that we were going to split both. He nicely figured out what to do, and in a short time delivered our soups along with my son's kiddo meal. The soup was chunky with veges, chicken and chicken sausage it them. A bit salty, but we enjoyed on this cold day. Our pot pie was split right to the middle and placed in 2 separate bowls nicely. We were very pleased. Tasteful and fresh chicken chunks and veges in a thick gravy like stuffing inside. Mmmmmm. I have to also mention the breads that they bring in a basket with butter. 2 types of bread made it to our table. One was sourdough and the other was this dark fruit cake type of bread. It was sweet and we fell in love with it instantly! Anthony told us that it was Carrot and Raisin Bread. YUMMO! We saw some prepackaged ones stacked in the front and asked him how much they were, and instantly he delivered a small loaf. WOW! we were very impressed with his express-sweet service. Ate dinner there last night. Ordered coffee and iced tea. Had to practically beg for refills, as service was almost nonexistent. Ordered meatloaf which was terrible, and chicken crepes which were cold, after waiting a long time to get served. Manager offered to redo order, but not much better second time. Felt like server was ignoring us most of the time we were there. Told this to manager on way out, but he didn't seem to really care much. Only good thing was we had a coupon. The management has changed several times over the past few years and it gets worse every time. There is one waitress there whom I witnessed eating off of customers' plates. She looked like she had just left a narcotics anonymous meeting. The atmosphere there is also horrible. Seats are torn, floors are not vacuumed, and employees are not attentive. I ordered a holiday meal from the Mimi's off I-20 in south Ft. Worth a week before Dec 24th. The online order included a section for special instructions in which I wrote, "no milk in the potatoes". When I arrived to pick up the order, the manager looked at it and said, "oh, I didn't see this" referring to the request for no milk. He went on to explain that they didn't make the potatoes that way and the green beans would also have a cream sauce. I don't understand why they have a special section for ordering when they don't even look at it. If they had, they could have notified me and I would have cancelled the order because 3 of our 6 guests wouldn't have been able to eat. The manager just stood there and said, "I'm sorry" which is fine but I was a little upset since we had planned on eating in two hours and there was no time to plan anything else. It would have helped if he had said he wouldn't charge for the potatoes or had offered to sub something or even discounted the price. This is not good customer service. The food turned out to be less than I expected, it was mediocre at best which added to my embarrassment with our guests. I will not make the same mistake again nor visit the Mimi's in south Ft. There is a weekend wait for a reason. I love breakfast so it's hard for me to order anything else so I can't vouch for lunch or dinner. Several locations of Mimi's closed so they could focus on building their brand right, with high quality ingredients and great food. (When it was slow during the week the manager was walking around while my friend and I were enjoying our mimosas and told us about the changes to the company). My service during the week was amazing but on the busy weekend it was a little less attentive. So let's get down to the food and drinks. Get a mimosa, they bring the little bottle of champagne so it is really about a drink and a half and it's delicious. The muffins, oh the muffins. I get the blueberry and it is light and fluffy and I can smell the vanilla. I get the omelette meal for this reason as it comes with toast or a muffin and a side of potatoes which I usually don't eat for breakfast but these potatoes are really good. I get the bacon avocado omelet which has spinach and cheese with strip of bacon and and slices of fresh avocado on top. It's delicious and fresh. It's hard to pass up the waffles and pancakes so if you go with a friend I highly recommend splitting and ordering one omelette meal and an order of waffles or pancakes. Sometimes it's hard to tell on the menu but the waffles and pancakes come with two eggs, fresh fruit and your choice of breakfast meats. It's a great value and the pancakes and waffles are heavenly. Never been disappointed with a breakfast/brunch here and judging by the wait others love it too. read more
