It is with a heavy heart that I have discovered the downfall of Mimi's. This has always been my go to for celebrating milestones, and treating myself to a spectacular meal and service. I had not dined at the Arlington Mimi's in some time, and was looking forward to a Mother's Day brunch. The service was satisfactory, no critical words for that, but the ambiance has completely changed. No longer did I enjoy soft French music, setting the scene for a great meal, but they were BLASTING 90's R&B. Hey, I love my 90's R&B, Breakfast Brother's is my jam, but at Mimi's, I am expecting an auditory experience matching the cuisine. I ordered for my coffee and heavy cream, but they no longer bring out the small stainless creamer, now it's 7-11 coffee service with room temp mini moos. They did not even have the breadbasket with whipped butters! I know times are changing, but I walked out of there for right under $100 for 2 meals and coffees, with a severely lacking experience. Overpriced, underwhelmed, I am sadly booking my next reservation at other local establishments like Sanford House, or Cafe Americana, same, if not lower, price points, concierge level service, soothing, on point ambience, and exquisite meals. Perhaps I am no longer Mimi's demographic, and they are ushering in fresh customers that will delight in their changes. For any old guard patrons, the thrill is gone. read more

We had the breakfast eggs Benny and the chorizo omelet with peach mimosas to drink. Our server Ximena was amazing! She was quick to greet us and got our drinks out fast. Meals were delivered in 15mins with a pretty busy crowd already seated. We will definitely come back and request to sit with her again next time. Boy has this place gone downhill. The quality of beef they used on the burger was ridiculously bad. It had so much additive to low quality beef that it didn't even resemble the smell or taste of beef. We couldn't eat it. The huge expensive salad was a plate full of lettuce, very little other components with it. The eggs Benedict were fine but the rest of our order just was not worth the trip there. It is not what it used to be. Don't get the burger for sure. One good point is they did not charge us for the burger when we complained. read more

This place was amazing! We needed to celebrate a special occasion and needed a nice dining experience fast, in the morning and close by! Mimi's was the bomb! Super clean. Staff was best service I have ever had! We didn't have to wait for anything. Great atmosphere and decor, big booths! But best part was the food was gourmet! There were 4 of us. I just got pics of two of the dishes but we all sampled each others and it was sooooo good! I had the eggs Benedict that was starred as a favorite there and I can see why. That was the best holidaise sauce ever, eggs and everything poached and cooked to perfection. Yummy yummy side potatoes too! The Brie omelet was also spectacular with tons of extra sides including a perfectly warmed HUGE muffin of your choice that we had come out ahead. The montecristo huge and so many sides! Oh and the cinnamon bun French toast soooo good. Huge champagne glasses of orange juice. It was all fantastic. I went here July 7th and this was my first time eating at Mimi's Cafe. At first glace, the place was decorated so cute. Then my experience went downhill to disappointment. I ordered fried chicken and waffles and the chicken came out so funky. I signaled our waiter to come over but she was talking to her coworkers and they stared at us unsure. She peeked around the corner and dipped back in??? When she finally came over, I told her how the chicken didn't look like how it was supposed to be compared to their menu online. She asked if I wanted them refired.... No offense ma'am, but in the food service industry you're supposed to have a dish redone for the customer if it's not up to the expectation.. She asked for the chicken to be placed on the clean plate she got and brought it back to the kitchen. I'm like, "I don't think you're supposed to do that but okay..." At this point, I wanted to see how this restaurant worked. ‍ One of the older chefs came out later with a new plate of fried chicken and waffles and apologized profusely for the previous dish. This was a man that cared for the art of his food. He explained that they were prepared at a earlier time and refried when they were about to be served. Sometimes when they get refried, they get burnt or the breading comes off (which happened to me unfortunately ‍) At this point, I'm so grateful this guy made me so much better fried chicken and waffles and expressed his passion for his food that my mood picked up after the weird waiter experience. :D Thank you old man chef with dark hair for making my Mimi's Cafe experience memorable. :) read more

I'm not from the area. I stopped in, hoping for another delicious "Texas" food experience. I ordered the blackened salmon benedict. Unfortunately, I was let down. The sauce wasn't very good. The "blackened salmon" looked like the "blackened salmon" you get from a package at the grocery store. Not only that, there wasn't salmon. I'm used to a nice sized filet of salmon that has been "blackened" on a grill. Everyone else's breakfasts looked good. Maybe a Benedict is not a Texas special. I have been coming to Mimi's for years and it's still as good as I remember. The chicken and waffles was very good and super filling! I had their pumpkin spice latte and loved it! They also have an alcoholic version that I was tempted to try. The service here was good and wasn't a long wait for the food. I ordered the breakfast tacos && them joints was BUSSIN!! I tasted all fresh ingredients! A blast of flavors in every bite!! My son had the kids meal waffles and them waffles were BANGIN!! This was the worst place I have ever been to. Me and my family went there for Mother's Day and the service was really bad. As soon as we walk in to talk to the host, the host had an attitude and was rolling her eyes. I had scheduled an advance for a party of 11 and they set us up with two separate tables. All the other workers were ignoring us, and we had to escalate to the manager. It took about 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order. The food didn't taste fresh at all. Lastly, my mom accidentally left her gift bag underneath the table. When we went back to go get it, the card inside the gift bag was stolen. We tried to talk with the general manager, and they claimed there was nothing they can do about it and was very unapologetic. I will never go there again and I will not recommend this place to anybody else. This was probably the worst restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Don't go here. read more

The waiter we had was not the greatest it was an inconvenience to ask him questions about the menu and he was quick to cut us off and leave the table. But he was efficient enough and put the orders in correctly. I took a star because my eggs Benedict was not good. I've had better for less. My eggs were over hard. The Canadian bacon was stiff and dry. The bread pudding was half soft half dry. I ordered a $5 side of rice and for a spoon full of dry old rice on a plate. But the pot roast was great and so was the Cesar salad. My Lipton black tea was $4 because they didn't have earl grey. The wait wasn't long, the table was sticky, the seats were comfy. very disappointed in the condition of the Arlington restaurant. the table was sticky. The booth we sat in was so broken down that if you sat in a certain spot you drop down six inches. there was some kind of stuff on the wall, looked like forms of mucus. I've seen Waffle House's cleaner than this restaurant. If this is what the dining are is like, I would hate to see the kitchen. We will not be back. This is the first time i have been able to eat here in Texas, its been years. So far great service, MImi's has always stayed updated and current with the trend, and the food is so right on. So the prices seem to have gone up a lot. I got the french onion bowl, and it was more like a cup.. very disappointing! They did away with the carrot bread, very disappointing. First time that we went there tonight. Everyone was so friendly and our server, Leslie, was awesome. Great menu and the food was so tasty and so beautifully presented. Nice calm atmosphere. We got the $30 dinner which included a soup or salad, entree and dessert and we did the $10 up charge for an appetizer. The spinach artichoke appetizer was beautiful and creamy, though a bit bland. With lovely toasted bread. Large serving. We got the jambalaya and the salmon and they were lovely. Very fresh, very nicely seasoned. Got the lava cake and the butterscotch cake for dessert. I haven't been to a Mimi's in years, but I remember having a pleasant experience before. No so this time around. I visited Mimi's for brunch and started out by ordering a mimosa. The second it arrived, I knew it would be bad. It was basically pure orange juice. After tasting it I watched the bartender make some additional mimosas and they barely add a splash of champagne. I came here for brunch with a friend on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. It was our first time visiting and we liked how many options the menu had, especially the all day breakfast. They even had a specials board with extra cocktails and seasonal food options which all sounded delicious. The inside has some cute pictures of France and tried to be a little European style. My friend got an omlette which she said was delicious and a huge portion including potatoes and toast. We both wanted the awesome sounding strawberries and crème stuffed crepes but it also came with eggs and sausage/bacon (a lot of food) so I just had that so we could split the crepes which were so yummy. We shared a mimosa flight and everything we had was really good.
