Loved it. Today was our first time at Jay Jay's. We really enjoyed it. The dining room is quite spacious with a mix of booths and tables. The pie cabinet is at the host station and it looks amazing. We arrived about 9 am on a Thursday, so there was plenty of parking and seating. Ashly was our server. She was quite pleasant and did a great job. Other servers were around often with coffee refills which was nice. Two of us split the following for breakfast: - Chicken Fried Chicken with Hashbrowns and 2 Eggs Fried Over-Medium - Side Egg: 2 Soft Scrambled - 2 Coffees The breakfast came out pretty quickly. The food was hot and it was all tasty. I was pleasantly surprised that the soft-scrambled eggs came out as-ordered. They were perfect. We were too full to try a slice of pie but we'll be back. It was dinnertime after a late haircut appointment. My wife and I were in the mood for some good ole home cooking. Jay Jays was very close by and never lets us down. They weren't too busy, so we were seated promptly. Another delightful visit with Norma as our server. She took wonderful care of us, and we never lacked for anything. After looking over the menu, my wife opted for the chicken finger platter with French fries and whole kernel corn. I decided on their incredible turkey dinner platter, what turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans and homemade cranberry sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed during a previous visit. I HAD to have it again. While we were waiting on our entrees, a big basket of rolls and cornbread was dropped off at our table. The rolls were warm and the cornbread sweet and delicious. I absolutely love their cornbread muffins. After having time to much down on a muffin, Norma arrived at our table with our two dinner entrees. OH MY, my turkey dinner platter was overflowing with deliciousness! I knew I was going to enjoy it. My wife said her chicken fingers were fried to perfection and the French fries and corn was scrumptious. I was so excited to dive into my turkey dinner platter. I ordered the ribeye and eggs meal , which comes with a 6-8 oz ribeye , two eggs prepared how you like, toast , home fries. I also ordered a coffee , and a side of sliced tomatoes. Food came out quickly and my server was really friendly and attentive. Steak had a weird texture to it , but tasted ok. Not likely that I'd get that steak again. Thankfully the menu you has a large variety of options. Offering Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. My meal and overall experience was good and if and when In this area again , I'd return for sure. We went for the first time on Thursday evening! Was not very crowded at all! They were having the chicken fried chicken special for $11.99 that came with 2 vegetables! I had baked potato and the best Beef stew I've had in a long time! I know the next time I go I'm just going to order a large bowl of that beef stew! It was so good! I will start with saying this was our first time here, we normally go to Eggsquisite but was close and thought we'd try something new. I had the meat lovers skillet, wasn't much for meat in it but it had a lot of green peppers and onions... not close to what I expected of am used to. The pancakes were kind of tough and doughy in the middle. We had killed five gnats at our table that were flying around and there were more we missed. Meal should have been $28 but we were rang up as $122 which they say will be reimbursed in a few days but now we're out that money and it's a holiday weekend so that REALLY SUCKS!! First time at this restaurant for brunch after the church service. We were seated as soon as my husband and I walked in. Our cheerful server, Erica greeted us with such great attitude Then our food came in within 5-7 minutes and was surprised with the quality of food. More of a senior home than a dinner. A good fraction of the dinner was filled with seniors standing around talking. Blocking the tables and being too loud. I got blackened tilapia, which was dry, overcooked, & bland (I dipped it in onion ring sauce to give moisture). The beans were also bland, the green beans were ok. We enjoy the family menu and service at Jay Jay's. They have all the breakfast favorites along with some specialty offerings. Lunch and dinner menu is more than hamburgers like so many. They have everything from meatloaf to really good grilled fish. Try the Pecan Chicken. Standards like chicken fried steak or chicken are also on the menu with all the sides. We we was seated at noon on a Monday. It appeared to be catered to a retired crowd, that lacked taste buds. Kinda reminds me of a trip in Jupiter Florida where the food was mostly bland. This place is a notch of above the food from that retirement community. I don't think we would come back. Cracker Barrel is slightly better than this place, and it's not really scratch made. The corn tasted like it was out of a can and boiled slightly longer than needed and drowned in butter. I was told it came out of a bag, yuck. The fried okra was also nothing special. Was quit enough to do some work while I sat. Booth areas seem small, they still have plexiglass glass in between each table area, Covid barriers. We used to regular this place but after a $2,500.00 was charged in addition to the breakfast on Saturday Sept 14,2024. We called and spoke to the owner (we later found out) who said he would call after he corrected the issue. HE NEVER APPOLOGIZED. He left for vacation and never called back.
