Food was okay, had a grilled chicken salad. I was with a large crowd and the food was served scattered over time and my salad order was wrong, but quickly fixed. Checking out found different prices from menu to paying. No gluten free options. read more

Quiet little spot with great service and good food! The waffle was Texas shaped and delish! The scrambled eggs with cheese were perfect and the cook did a fantastic job on my extra crispy bacon! Great spot for families or big groups! Ask for Leann! She was super friendly and had great recommendations! read more

Delicious breakfast as usual! Love the pancakes! Decided to try something new today for breakfast. I was early this Sunday morning, so not a lot of people. I know it will get busy later this morning. As usual I am always greet with smiles. They are so friendly here. I ordered the Southern Scramble today. It is really good and really filling. Everything was cooked well. Coffee was kept filled in my cup. This is a favorite breakfast restaurant! read more

This is by far the best breakfast in town! We were sat immediately (on a saturday morning!). Our server was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and quick. The food came out with little wait, and it was hot and delicious. We had the arlington skillet (great for people who love a little spice in their breakfast!) with 2 pancakes (fluffy!) and a serving of french toast (fantastic flavor) The cafe was very open but not loud despite the number of people there, felt very inviting. Overall, this place is a must for all breakfast goers in arlington. you will not regret it! read more

Service was friendly, that's where the buck stops. The food was bland and the cheese on my skillet wouldn't melt for some odd reason...weird. To top things off, a roach crawled across my table. Appetite gone. Wouldn't return. read more

This was my first time trying this cafe out. I gave my friend a ride to drop her car off and she said she would buy breakfast and Pantego Cafe was open for breakfast. First impression the atmosphere was dark like the there was storm's outside but it was sunny at the time . I asked if we could raise the blind and she told me they don't raise up but I managed to raise it a few inches lol The pork chops were a little tough but tasty and the eggs were perfectly scrambled but the hash browns had a weird texture and taste. The grits were very bland !! I could not eat them. The turkey bacon was tolerable lol I'm not sure I'm a turkey bacon fan . I would give them another chance because the omelette was very good. I hope they brighten things up around there lol read more

Relied on trusty Yelpers for a good brunch spot while I was driving to Fort Worth and came across Pantego Cafe. This spot was great! We got chicken and waffles off their menu special and chicken fried steak. Both dishes cost about $12 and portion size was very generous. Everything tasted good and cooked perfectly. The Texas shaped waffle was a nice touch for an out-of-state visitor like me. Service was good. Our waitress checked in on us a couple of times to see if we needed anything else. The food came out pretty quick. Overall a great spot to eat at if you're nearby. read more

EXTREMELY limited selection outside of breakfast, and many items are only available on certain days of the week. This is a great place to come if you're on a diet, because as soon as you see something on the menu that looks good, you find out it's only available on the 32nd day of the 13th month of the year for 73.58 minutes when a full moon and a planetary conjunction have simultaneously converged in the night sky with a double rainbow visible alongside Venus. (Okay, slight hyperbole, but you get the idea. Their selection of non-breakfast food is pathetic, and half of it isn't even available on any given day.) To add insult to injury, they didn't even bother telling us they were out of soup until we'd already ordered our lunches that were supposed to come with soup. They offered nothing to make up for it, no option for an extra side or anything. They just took our orders under false pretenses, and after we ordered, we got told they were out of soup, so we wouldn't be getting any. Bottom line: I ordered my third or fourth choice for a meal because the stuff I actually like is relegated to only being available one or two days a week. Then, when I found something I could choke down, I ordered it, and got told AFTER I ordered it and it was being prepared that there was no soup, even though it was supposed to come with soup. Let me just say this. I have been here about five times now, and never once of my own choosing. Every time I come here, it's always because somebody else wanted to, and I drew the short straw. And I always leave frustrated and disappointed. The food (what little there is of it for lunch, anyway) is good, the service is friendly, and the breakfast food coming out of the kitchen looked pretty good. I'll give credit where it's due. But damn, unless you want to deal with a menu doing so much lying, cheating, and heartbreak it deserves its own country song, do NOT come here for lunch. read more

Very disappointing breakfast of biscuits & gravy with scrambled eggs. The sausage gravy was quite bland and cold served on top of everything. several customers along with myself were waiting to be checked out at counter while 3 waitresses sat at a table talking & looking at their cell phones. No one was paying any attention. I won't return. read more

I ordered pickup, this is a palm people place. I loved the food but the customer service is not the best. The cashier only greeted the people behind us that was of a different nationality of course. She seemed upset with us but she took our money and told us our food wasn't complete yet so we waited 5-10 minutes just for her to realize our food had been sitting on the counter the whole time... read more

I came here on a weekday morning with my grandma, & 2 friends. It's a casual establishment, the service was decent. The food portions are definitely Texas size!!! I thoroughly enjoyed everything I got with my combo - chocolate chip pancakes (cooked to perfection), chicken fried steak w/gravy, a fried egg, & skillet potatoes! The price was low for all the food it provided so it was a great value! Wonderful place to grab a bite & catch up with loved ones! read more

Service is terrible. Had a party of 8 on Saturday morning and our server was horrible. Terrible attitude and sloppy work. 1 of my guests had to send her eggs Benedict back because the eggs weren't cooked well. Every request seemed like a hassle to the server. Ii asked her for everyone's check to pay it all at once and she replied "I don't do that !!" Unbelieveable. The food is just ok not great. I'd pass on this place if I were you. read more

Excellent pancakes and sausage. They serve real butter with the pancakes! Price not bad, but they do charge extra if you use your credit card (or even debit card). Service excellent. Total price for 2 pancakes with 2 sausage patties and coffee was $14.77 with tax and tip. A bit steep and more than 2 dollars more than my favorite breakfast place. read more

So let me start by saying I love a good Cafe, and always treat it as such. Now with cafes you would not expect stellar coffee, or a 3 star+ meal but you expect nice burgers, delicious eggs and hash browns with gravy.... We went here because it's only 1/4 mile away so had high hopes of a new favorite spot, not so much.... Hash browns were soggy, asked for eggs over easy and my wife over medium, hers came out barely over easy and the wrong skillet but ok maybe it will taste good right? Nope, just salty no herbs or spices just salt. I could go on but you get the point, not a 4+ star spot like the reviews, it's 2-3 stars read more

Food is good, waitresses good, but guy at register is terrible! Too busy staring at phone to even take time to look at you.... you know customer service. All staff in polo shirts, etc. and he walks around in sweatpants, flip flops & just points across the room at a table ad tells you to go sit. Understand he's probably family but dang..... he makes us not want to come back!! Sorry we're bothering you by coming there. read more

There kind enough to offer a Military Discount but they need to train the cashiers to distinguish a credit card from a military ID. On more than two occasions I have have handed them my military ID and and they believe it's a credit card and they don't include the military discount. From what they tell me they can't reverse the process. I usually place my ID on my table to let them know. It works at The Porch, Good Day, Rudy's, and Kincaid's!! Hopefully they will resolve this issue read more

This business, which is now called Pantego Cafe, has changed names so many times during my strange, curious journey through this life I have in Arlington. I had passed Pantego Cafe many times, always missing being able to stop in just barely. Though, admittedly, I rarely actually go in a place in the last 45 minutes they are open. The litmus test - biscuits, gravy and hashbrowns. That is the way to know if you are getting fresh, real home cooking, or frozen, reheated visitor cooking. ("Visitor...get it? Like the opposite of home. Nevermind)... The old bar is still inside, so I saddled up and ordered my water, biscuits with cream gravy, and hashbrowns. Essentially, the S.O.S, but with cream gravy rather than sausage gravy. While I waited, I browsed the menu. It was pretty large for a place that only serves breakfast and lunch. It also served regular bacon or turkey bacon, I noticed. I really appreciated the cream gravy OR sausage gravy, and not just sausage gravy. Oh, and they serve Pepsi products. The moment of truth - I cannot decipher whether the biscuits are made in house big batch and reheated, or are ordered frozen, but they certainly aren't "made to order." They are a touch better than Main Street Cafe in Arlington, but miles away from Cracker Barrel. The gravy was good, but could have used some seasoning. Better no seasoning than a meat base though, I say. The hashbrowns were the highlight, however. Light, crisp, but not greasy. And ample. In fact, the whole meal was quite a lot of food for just a small price - $6.99 And an aside - "Won't he do it." My boss recently went gluten free and was pining for something sweet in the office. As I walked out the Girl Scouts were there selling cookies and had plenty of the Gluten Free one. Score. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! If could have given zero stars I would have. I went there found a hair ( more like a hairball). I have been coming to this location for a couple of years now. Despite that it's out of my way, by about 25 minutes. There are many restaurants along my route, but I choose to come here because of the food. Generally the service is really good despite a handful of servers, which I avoid. Last weekend I had the pleasure of being served by one of the ones I try to avoid because at the time, it was the only table available. Everything was fine until a Hispanic mother and her two young children were sat at the next table. Because of a language barrier, that's when the servers callusnes was on full display. When brought to the owners attention, he too heard the server, and asked what am I going to do? I'm short handed. To make things worse, he said the server speaks Spanish, but chose not to use her second language. Just complicating matters. The owner and his kitchen staff too speak Spanish, let them assist taking the order rather than the server being brash and loud with the customer. Hint: when someone doesn't understand the language, it doesn't mean their deaf, raising your voice doesn't mean their going to understand you any better. Discussed with owner and he says he tries helping his staff. But if his staff cared for him and his business, they wouldn't treat his customers that way. I came back today, I over hear the same server and a couple of other ones talking about me and paraphrasing here... dumbfounded why I would come back here to eat again after what happened last weekend and then raising such a stink. Recommend this place if you like coming for good food, potentially being treated harshly by a brash server and having servers talk about you behind your back while rolling silverware at their station. Five stars minus two stars for staff and another two stars for management not having the wisdom to do the right thing and rid the cancer(s) in his restaurant. Run short handed and run a short wait but have a staff that respects you and your patrons. Hint: instead of hanging out at bar watching football game, get online, post a job listing and set-up some job interviews. That'd be a start. Otherwise it's all excuses. read more

*!!!!!* T E X A S SHAPED WAFFLE ALERT*!!!!!* This is my absolute FAVORITE breakfast spot. I had been searching for a Texas shaped waffle for my best friend's birthday without having to drive all the way to Mansfield or Dallas to get it. I found it here, at Pantego Cafe - the cutest little home cooking country restaurant my happy little heart could find. Seating: Walk in, they'll greet you, seat you, and ask what you'd like to drink as you browse the menu. There is PLENTY of booth seating and table seating so you generally always have a choice, which is so convenient. Service: Bring people who aren't from Texas. They will probably be alarmed from the southern hospitality the wait staff exemplify with their "Yes ma'am" & "Yes Sir". They will NOT let your coffee/drinks get empty. Quality: The food is absolutely amazing, in my opinion. When it comes to home style country cooking, it doesn't get much better than Pantego Cafe. Portions are generous, prices are affordable, and quality is unmatched. Order the eggs benedict or chicken fried steak & thank me later! Payment: They will bring you your bill when you're ready. Take it to the front counter to pay (right where the desserts/cakes are) and pay before you leave. read more
