Wow! I was so impressed by the service/food here. I had to wait about a little bit more than average for my food and about 10-15 minutes to get a table. The pasta I ordered here (the tomato and basil one) was amazing!! They put a lot of parmesan just a heads up if you ask for it. I also recomend the pizza with the basil and percutto (dont know how to spell), it tastes amazing! If you are in Rome looking for some good food, come here! read more

We were lucky to be staying next door on our trip to Rome. We lucked out and only had to wait about 5-10 minutes. It was right seating, but the ambiance and friendliness of the owners made up for it. We are vegetarians and there were so many options and things different than just pizza and pasta. The wine was also delicious. We had the house wine both red and white. After dinner, they offered a complementary shot which is a "Roman digestive". They also came around with homemade hazelnut biscotti... so good they offered me seconds. I think the real touch here is how welcoming the owners are... something we found to be rare in Italy. read more

Great Antipasta here, stopped for drinks after a long day of walking around Rome, the drinks were really refreshing and the Antipasta was good as well. I would recommend the melon/ham with some fresh bread. A little Aperol spritzer with some blood orange and your good to go. read more

Perfect location. Went there thinking we would order an Antipasta and dinner, but the tasting plate (meat and cheese) was more than enough. We also got the focaccia plus a bottle of wine so that helped fill us. The bottles of wine are a little overpriced for that area - cheapest bottle was $22. If you are looking for cheap wine go to other places around there. Other than that, highly recommend! read more

Everyone has heard about the stereotypical surly waiter - we met her last Saturday. Unbelievable attitude while providing no service. Four of us at the table, she took two orders, took the menus and walked away. It took an act of god, or in this case the owner, to get her to come back to complete our orders. Later she took the plate from in front of me while I was still eating. Couldn't be bothered to ask about anything else. The owner told us that she was his girl friend and her first day on the job. Given how smoothly he delivered that explanation I suspect that he's dealt with this for some time. What a disappointment. read more

We had high hopes. Our friends ate here and liked it. Sadly, we didn't have a good experience. The service was terrible . . . slow and dishonest. We had to ask for things multiple times. I wanted to order a beer and asked them what kind they have. Our waiter replied that they only have one kind, so that's what I got. I later saw other beers being delivered to tables . . . and, of course, the beer he brought me was expensive. It was only a couple euros difference, but it was still disappointing. The food was average. We had starters, several pastas and a main. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. read more

I had heard of Mimi e Coco from a good friend of mine who told me it was a restaurant I MUST visit during my Italy trip. I ordered the spaghetti with bolognese sauce and it was absolutely spectacular. The pasta itself was not too hard but not undercooked, and the sauce was not too heavy, but just enough to fill me up. I found myself gravitating towards this restaurant for dinner very often during our Italy trip. Not only was the food amazing, but the workers were very respectful of my dietary needs and did not mess up our specific dairy-free and egg-free orders (once in a lifetime)! I highly recommend Mimi e Coco and can assure you of an amazing and enjoyable dinner. read more

Came here for drinks before going to Shari vari. Fantastic music- a blend of classical instruments with an electronic style edge was very nice to get the mood for the night. Mimi e Coco is a small wine bar and bistro in the heart of the restaurant district just west of Piazza Navona in Rome. It's a hugely popular place with locals, and it's tiny and always packed. They don't take reservations, so expect a wait unless you go in the middle of the afternoon and get lucky like we did. Unfortunately, and despite all of the wonderful reviews, our experience was not great. While the food and local wine was very good and reasonably priced, the service was abysmal. The two young women providing service ignored us and chatted with each other or with other (Italian) customers unless/until we forcefully got their attention. Service started off slow for initial drinks and food order, but we got our food eventually and then got completely ignored after that. It took 10 minutes or more for me to get a second glass of wine delivered, and it took three requests and about 20 minutes for us to get our check delivered. It's a nice little bistro that I really wanted to love, but the service was about the worst we've had in any restaurant in a long time. read more

WARNING: Rome on a stifling hot night may be the cause of a one star decrease in rating for this place. Sitting outdoors makes the people watching good, but be careful which table you get. The first one we tried had a speaker aimed right at your head; Ray Charles and a ton of exclusively USA R&B and blues tunes loud enough to drown out all but shouted conversation. Ray Charles: good! Ray Charles that loud? : well, not quite so good. Is this beginning to sound like a wine-bar-for-americans? Move to a table where ventilated heat (from the kitchen?) roars up through a grate : well, it made me wish my date was wearing Marilyn Monroe's white cocktail skirt from The Seven Year Itch. But it was already 92 degrees, and I'm no Tom Ewell. The waitress started out sullen. Who can blame her in that heat, and with all those under 30 N. American tourists gabbing at top decibels? It may be unfair to call Mimi e Coco a tourist trap, but everything about the place (sorry, Ray Charles and all the other USA tunes we heard) will confirm that they cater to the tourist trade. Even though it's slightly off Piazza Navona, no Italian spoken here. Eventually our waitress warmed a bit ( Ewww! WARMED!) by saying this level of heat/humidity was, "African." The salad I had was bland, the other main entree likewise bland. If your idea of a wine bar includes anything like intimacy, well, this isn't it. On second thought, maybe it's a star high at 3, but afterall, it IS Rome, so how 'bland' can it really be?!? read more

Flatbread was delicious and highlight of the meal. Nice crisp crust with raw ingredients on top. Also had swordfish carpaccio which was good but not great. They left some food out as a sample on one of the outside tables that pigeons started eating and this was really disgusting in the middle of a meal. read more

Tourist trap. Great ambiance / seating and that's what drew us in, along with the other tourists. My wife and I got a bottle of wine and some pizza. Both of the pizzas were awful. Tasted like something we could get in the US. There are by far better places to grab legit Italian food. This is not the place. If want a cool spot near Piazza Navona for drinks this is your spot. If you're looking for a good Italian dinner, find another place. read more

I moved to Rome two years ago, so initially I was just hanging out and about hoping to find some place that "feels like home". And I found it. :) I loooove those little lights and the magical atmosphere they create. Music follows perfectly. The whole space is calling you out to sit back, relax and live the moment. A perfect spot to enjoy great wines and conversations! Tasty snacks and light food to go along with wines. Both the food and the service were exceptional. So yes, this is my favorite place in Rome. Considering it's practically in the heart of Rome I couldn't ask for more... I suggest you try "Carbonara" and "Tiramisu"! read more

We came here one evening to get a few drinks and an appetizer of sorts. I love the environment here and the service was good (as good as Italian service can be because we've noticed service here is not very good in general). The drinks were very yummy (got my usual Aperol Spritz) and very reasonably priced. We got a charcutrie board of meats and cheeses. SO GOOD! It's in a little alley nearby Piazza Navona and was just such a great time! Would definitely recommend this place! read more

Wonderful wine bar in Rome. I went once for dinner, and once for aperitivo. Indoor and outdoor seating, small, cute decorations, homey feel. The menu has great options, and my lasagna was delicious. My dad ordered the crispy potatoes and raved about them. Of course, the wine options were extensive and reasonably priced. For aperitivo, our table shared the king cheese platter, which had 3-4 different cheeses, cold cuts, olives and nuts. For 4 of us, this was perfect alongside the house rosemary focaccia. After we paid the bill, we stuck around for a bit talking. Our waiter apologetically asked if we would mind giving up our table for a party that had been waiting to be seated for a while. I found this odd and certainly not very Italian, but since we were done we agreed. As a consolation, they ushered us over to the bar and gave us each a free shot of limoncello. I have disliked every limoncello I had tried up to this point, but the house-made stuff was actually delicious and easy to drink (which is how it should be). read more

I have to say, for a bit of a touristy spot - it was one of the best meals we had in Rome. Great service, great drinks and super helpful servers. Also the plates were huge for one person, great place to share some dishes.
