We visited here based on the reviews. It was not a disappointment. When we arrived they were already quite busy so there was a 10-15 minute wait. It's a smaller place so its cozy but quaint. They have a nice selection of dishes from the appetizers, first, seconds, salads and desserts. And the full bar offers more than just a glass of wine or beer to accompany your meal. So we chose a bruschetta for an appetizer which was dee-lish. From there I went to a main and the spouse had a salad. The insalata was large and fresh. My Spinach and ricotta ravioli was very good. A good ratio of spinach to ricotta and the sauce was amazing. Unfortunately we could not finish our dishes. No disrespect to the establishment, it was delicious, we just could not eat any more. We spent a week in Rome in July where we walked and ate and walked and ate and walked and ate. It was perfect. My favorite meal of the week was the one we had at Mimi e Coco, not just because it was outrageously delicious, but because it was the kind of evening I will think back on during the long Buffalo winter as the definition of SUMMER. It was so relaxing and pleasant to sit for a few hours, eating and talking, enjoying the incredibly friendly and efficient service and listening to the street musicians nearby. The restaurant is just off the busy Piazza Navona, and it's great for people watching as hundreds of people walked by. And seated near us was a couple on a first date, a young family, an impossibly gorgeous couple who had just pulled up on their Vespas and ate with their helmets hanging from their chairs, an elderly couple (the woman kissed the waitress on the cheek as they left and then placed her arm through her husband's as they strolled off on the cobblestones...) We lingered over wonderful food (best pasta carbonara I had in Rome, and my starter was a delicious arugula/salmon/pine-nut wonder) and house wine, drank our limoncello and planned our next day's adventures. I highly recommend this place! And if you can't find it, I hope that you find your own wonderful spot to remember from your Roman Holiday. read more

I spent three days in Rome, and this was the best all-around place at which I ate! My wife and I sat down here for a drink, and ended up staying for dinner as well. The service was terrific! They were so friendly and accommodating, and even gave us some free drinks. We started off with wine and bruschetta (which was OUT OF THIS WORLD), then I ate the ravioli, while my wife had potatoes with veggies. Our waiter gave us free limoncello drinks afterwards! After visiting a number of cities in Italy and sampling a lot of their cuisine in each of those cities, Mimi e Coco may have been one of, if not the best restaurants we visited. We had done extensive research on TripAdvisor and Yelp to find the best restaurants and came upon Mimi e Coco. When we arrived to the restaurant, we had to wait nearly 40 minutes to be seated as it is a popular restaurant. While waiting, we were allowed to order drinks to pass time. We got a mojito and an aperol spritz, both were strong and perfect to get us ready for our meal. We pretty much knew what we wanted before we even got there so no need to waste time looking at the menu. We got the Spaghetti Carbonara, Mushroom Risotto, and the Meatballs. The Carbonara was amazing, filled with large pieces of bacon and covered in grated Parmesan. The mushroom risotto was delicious and very cheesy. The best thing we ate was hands down the meatballs with potatoes. A lot of authentic Italian food for a great price. HIGHLY recommend. read more

Wonderful intimate place! Highly recommend. Our server was a sommelier and had great recommendations for wine pairings. Be sure to try their amazing bruschetta - the tomatoes and olive oil are so fresh and so orgasmic. We tried an assortment of pastas and the risotto too. My favorite was the tortellini - SO GOOD. For dessert, our server gave us complimentary tiramisu, Apple pie with gelato, and hazelnut biscotti with limoncello - all were so wonderful. There are endless options for dinner in Rome, and so many of them are good. Mimi e Coco is excellent. My date had the Cacio e Pepe and I had the pasta Amatriciana and both were delicious. It'll get really crowded while you're here, you will be positively smooshed and even a little hot, and it won't matter. The food is that good. Mimi caught our eye with soft yellow lighting and candles in old wine bottles on every table; and I couldn't resist. There were no tables available outside and when we asked to wait for one, we were given a glass of Prosecco while we waited (free of charge). After about 15min we were given a great little table and proceeded to have a leisurely and delicious meal, which (even with a 22euro bottle of wine - they don't do carafes of house) came to 52Euro*. The servers were very brisk and a bit cold... We shared the potatoes with melted brie and tomatoes- very good! Then shared the "pizza-like" dish with fresh mozzarella, salad and tomatoes- it was good. Also had the eggplant parmigian- tasted way too cheesy, lost all taste of eggplant and of the tomatoe sauce. This was our first time in Rome and we were staying very close by to this place. We were wondering why it was packed all the time, now we know! Now we're just mad at ourselves we didn't go sooner! The food was outstanding, the wine was divine, and the staff was so welcoming and funny! We had Giovanni as a waiter, he was amazing! They started us off with 2 dishes of bruschetta, olives and fresh tomatoes free of charge! I didn't photograph the crunch potato dish with salmon but it was the best meal on our table, even though all were great! The Mimi's salad was also delicious! This place has a lot of promise. It's in a great location in a small piazza near Piazza Navona. The wine was delicious and the ambiance is just right for Rome. My bf and I came here pretty hungry but only looking for a quick snack as we meandered down the Roman cobblestone alleys. We also have a different perspective as I don't eat meat and he doesn't eat pork so we ordered a cheese only plate (which I guess they made an exception for us bc they said they don't have cheese only plates usually). For 10 euro it seemed steep for about 6 slices of cheese, a cherry tomato, a couple of capers and a couple of olives. Perhaps it's better suited for meat eaters or a full meal. With so little time in Rome each meal is precious and I wouldn't spend another one here. read more
