Friday night, walk-in party of 3. About 15 minute wait, staff was slammed and the place was packed. free lot parking. Special of the day--Walleye $18. It was a large piece, fried to crunchy perfection. Served with rice and sauteed spinach. I was so impressed by the dish. Of course when in MN, one must eat walleye. Only negative I can say is I think they use margarine, not butter. Good value for the money as the fish piece was big and I had seen walleye at other restaurants in the $24 range. Let me start off by saying, if you're trying to portion control, this aint the place to eat! They are very generous with their sizes. Some of the dishes are even bigger during dinner time. My goodness! When I first walked in, it had a welcoming feel. A hidden gem on a busy street. It was very comfy inside. It isn't a large space but they utilized their space well. There is even room for a bar. I really liked the coziness of the whole place. We ordered their half size wings for a starter. I normally get my wings naked with the sauce on the side but our waitress suggested the "Milton's Dry Rub". I didn't really like it. Dry rubs are usually too salty to my liking. But we tried the Jalapeño Ranch dipping sauce and that was tasty! Different but tasty. My husband ordered the "Plank Salmon". It comes with two sides and he chose Fries and Sautéed Kale. I had their Tuesday Special, which was Pot Roast over Mashed Potatoes with a side of Sautéed Kale and I love me some Grits so I ordered their Cheesy Grits as extra side. Honestly, my favorite was the Sautéed Kale. It was soaked with so much flavor!! Everything was over all really good. I couldn't finish it all so I am looking forward to lunch tomorrow. Lol. Very yummy lunch. I had the jerk chicken which was so moist and delicious. Extra jerk sauce is provided on the side, punchy and piquant. I was impressed by the half-chicken portion size--breast, wing, thigh, leg. I went with the usual side, a rice pilaf with beans. The rice was relatively bland but acted as a good foil to the spicy jerk. I also ordered the apple salad which consisted of cubes of refreshingly crunchy sweet and tart apples and jarlsberg cheese. My husband had the French dip and was very satisfied with it, noting how good the bread was. The ambience is fun and funky and our waiter was very solicitous with a great sense of humor and a Southern accent. read more

On the look out for a unique place we stumbled across Milton's. Arrived around lunch time on a Saturday and was able to be seated promptly. Decor is unique but appropriate for this place. Wanted to start with some fried pickles, did order, unfortunately didn't come out until after the meal. Waitress did own up to forgetting to enter it and confirmed we wanted. They were good with the jalapeno dressing they came with. The dressing cut down on the saltiness of the pickle so was a nice pairing. Daughter had the mac and cheese which she said was very good, she won't touch Kraft or other boxed varieties to give you an idea. The pulled pork sandwich, tasting some pork that fell off it would have needed salt on it's own but the sauce and slaw complement to not require additional seasoning. The chips are great with the homemade green goddess dressing. The french dip (with added grilled onion and peppers) was moist with the jui being very flavorful. We even used it to dip some fries in. The carrot cake is GF and didn't matter, was very delicious as is. The banana fosters was a balance of Bananas and ice cream, the caramel on the banana was very tasty. Overall a great meal, ate so much here that had to have a small dinner as wasn't hungry 6 hours later. If it was closer I would visit again, will see when I am in the area next. read more

We don't live too far from Miltons and always drive by it. It's a super cute hole in the wall but is HUGE when you actually get in. We chose to sit outside, they have a small little seating area in the front and it can get a little loud cause it's literally right on the street. We got the half pound Milton style wings and it came out steaming out! They were really good just a bit pricey for four wings. I got the French dip and it was absolutely delicious!!! It was juicy, tender, and pretty perfect :) my fiancé got Anna's eggs and he also loved it! The only reason I give it four out of five stars is the service could use a little work. It took a long time to get our food (wasn't very busy) and I had to continuously ask for water because our server would forget. Super minimal but the food was superb! read more

Had the prime rib special. The meat was really good. The center was a bit tough but we saved it for breakfast. The kale and the mashed potatoes were delicious. Also had the shrimp and grits with the egg of top. The grits are shipped from North Carolina and were extraordinary. Shrimp really tender and well seasoned. I had the pleasure of having lunch with my beautiful daughter at Milton's today. She and her partner are regulars at this establishment, and after enjoying the fantastic Shrimp 'n Grits, I can understand why. My dish of creamy grits were cooked to perfection. For yeas, I have been rather bias in knowing that no one could cook grits the way that my mom does. Today, at Milton's, that bias thinking was cheerfully challenged. The shrimp accompanied the grits, not stealing their thunder. Yet, sharing the spotlight on the plate. The toasted ciabatta sat silently on the side, providing some relief from the heat that danced around my mouth... I probably said...Mmmm...at least 10 times as I ate. The ambiance was comfortable, styled just right for the flavors of the fairs served, smooth and delicious. There is a plaque high on a shelf that reads "Welcome, our family tree is filled with nuts." This made me laugh out loud...as it made me think of my family being just the same. And, that too, was comforting. read more

I feel bad giving this place a 3 instead of the 4 or 5 it deserves. It was our first time here and it was a poor experience only because of our waiter. The Big Negative: Our waiter was super charismatic but very, nay EXTREMELY aloof. He could've been fantastic the way he was building rapport with us, but the whole time I kept thinking it seemed like his head was in the clouds. There were so many times where he walked right past our table, close enough to touch the back of my boyfriend's chair, but he completely ignored our existence while I failed my arms like an idiot trying to get his attention. He forgot our appetizer (which I forgave at first), took beers without asking if we were finished, I somehow flagged him down for the one refill I got all night, and he left us hanging for our bill long enough for the table next to us to order dessert, eat dessert, and pay...ugh! The Positives: The atmosphere! Love it. Quaint, cozy and artistic. Love that they have a little bar. Seems like it would be a cozy place to have a few. The jerk chicken is SUPER flavorful and juicy, I recommend! However, the beans and rice that come on the side are bland. Swap the beans and rice for a side of macaroni (so creamy!). The steak sandwhich is also apparently surprisingly good (per my boyfriend). The steak was juicy and the aioli on it was a nice touch. The side of macaroni was creamy and yummy. Not very cheesy tasting (I'm assuming this is because of the choice of cheese they used?) but I still enjoyed it. We would've tried an appetizer except well... our waiter forgot it... and we wanted dessert but well... our waiter... yeah... All in all, I think this place is worth another shot. Tonight I tried to order take out but the service that you've chosen to run your online business through, you may want to reconsider. First as I tried to order from my phone, the site was asking for an account or to setup an account to order the food... no, not setting up an account to order food. Second, I decided to try from a PC and I didn't even get that far. Every item I selected was "online only" and I couldn't order over the phone, but the items I chose for dinner tonight because they were not available until tomorrow. So, that's it. I'm done other than this recommendation, try ordering food from your service, but don't do it if you're trying to eat tonight. read more

Ah, God, this place is truly a wonder. If you want some good grub, look no furthers than Milton's. Quality food, lively servers, and inspired design are all present at this unsuspecting establishment. First, the servers. He looked like a well rounded, young Christian man. Jesus' light emanated from him. We had some playful banter and he was very knowledgeable of the intricacies of the Vittles. Solid 10/10. Next, the decor. It is difficult to pin one existing theme of design on this restaurant, as it is so unique. There is a woodsy, cabin-like theme fused with a modern coffee shop and a hint of your favorite antique store. It is pleasing, to say the least. I was unsure of it when I first viewed it, but it grew on me the longer I was there. Good 9.5/10 Finally, what you are here for, the food. I heard about Milton's through the a friend of my sister who really talked this place up. I was skeptical, but went all the same. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how exquisite Milton's actually was. I got the stuffed french toast. Two pieces of Texas-style french toast with a healthy helping of rich cream cheese in between, covered with a thick layer of blueberries and topped with the best, homemade whipped cream I have ever had. I do not say that lightly. This is an instant favorite! My meal was around $13 for the stuffed french toast and two tasteful sausages. The servings are big enough to make me, a 160-pound male, heartily full. I will absolutely go again! Wonderful 10/10 Overall Score 10/10 Must Visit at least once. Beautiful cozy spot with free parking adjacent. The prices were fair. It was a clean place and the staff were welcoming upon our entrance. The menu has a good variety and most people could probably find something they like. With that being said, they were out of grits and other staple food items. Odd. The space is very tight and it's not a place for a private conversation not kid-friendly. The service left much to be desired. Our waitstaff was clearly overwhelmed & unfocused. I am so happy I came upon Milton's, which I previously had never heard of before. I ordered online with a scheduled pick-up time a few hours later in the day. I got an e-mail confirmation shortly after placing my order confirming my requested pick-up time. I showed up right on-time and the super friendly staff were packing up my order upon arrival. Everything was piping hot - it was still hot by the time I made it home 25 minutes later. Everything was so. damn. delicious. Got the battered cod with fries (the tartar sauce!!!), jerk chicken, grits, rice and beans, mac and cheese, and apple salad. EVERYTHING WAS SO. DAMN. DELICIOUS.
