Woke up on a Saturday morning to have my car blocked in. When I asked to move they told me 30 minutes. Ummm no. You BLOCKED me in. I'm not running on YOUR time. That is not how it works. No sense of urgency and they need to think of the neighbors around them. If you're going to block neighbors in, you need to let them know, or leave a note. Not courteous at ALL. The people at Milpitas Materials are rude and unscrupulous. They took down my address incorrectly and then blamed my contractor when their employee could not find the place. They insisted that the employee arrived at the appointed time when he was actually 20 minutes late and the job started 40 minutes later than the scheduled time. To add insult to injury, they overcharged me by over $100, claiming that the job took 110 minutes, when it reality it was only one hour and 10 minutes. When I called to rectify the matter, the manager, Jamie, was extraordinarily rude. Please do not do business with this company. They are rude, incompetent, and dishonest. read more

WORST experience with a concrete supplier!!! They are rude from the start and over charged the company because of their own mistakes. I was hung up on twice and when trying to resolve an issue and when I spoke with the manager Jamee she was just as rude and did not care at all. It is safe to say we will NEVER buy from this company and suggest you look for another supplier because these guys are the worse and charge the most. They poored cement at my neighbors house and threw a bucket full of cement all over my new yard,and when i pointed out to the driver he said it was only water. I was excited to get my driveway replaced and felt comfortable with a contractor who had done some work in the neighborhood. He did a stamped and colored job that turned out fabulous, just like we pictured it to be. When it came to the cement it was kind of funny because a friend had told me "don't use Star Concrete", and when I checked them out here on Yelp they stunk. So I ask my guy "who you gonna get the cement from?" and he says Star. I said nope, not gonna happen, there is a lot of other places and it's just cement, so how about the guys here in Milpitas with the shiny green machines? He says boy that will cost you a lot more, and we are planning to do it on Saturday and I don't think they will do that. After prodding he gives them a call and I hear the "oh, okay you can do that" da da da. He hangs up and says " They can do it on a Saturday, but like I said it will cost you", and then proceeds to tell me my $9,400 job will bump up to $9,640 ... BFD! $240 in a $9,000+ job?, bring them on! Day of the pour they show up 10 minutes early and my man and his crew are caught off guard cause they are used to "the trucks running late". And did I say that truck was clean and shiny !?! Wow. They do the pour and I was surprised how quick they get all the concrete out and how long it takes them to do all the finish work with it. The job turned out super, and the contractor told me after that the cement from Milpitas was much better to work with then what he usually gets from Star. So thumbs up for Milpitas Materials, these guys know what they are doing!! read more

Called on Thursday to order 3 yard for Saturday's work and the guy on the phone said it may rain on Saturday. He asked me to call back on Friday to make sure it doesn't rain. The weather forecast said it will rain on Saturday morning. So I cancelled the order on Friday. Saturday came and it doesn't look like it will rain. I called on Saturday morning and they said they be there in an hour or two. The truck is very shinny and clean. The driver was nice and friendly. He finishes pouring and I paid him. I love the fact that I don't have to paid in advanced. That is a big plus. I called a different place before and they wanted my credit card before they can deliver. read more

I wish that I could tell you that I was surprised that Milpita's materials has such a low rating on yelp, but I would be lying. While they do deliver usually on time and sometimes last-minute, (which is why I gave them the two stars) their customer service is absolutely horrible. They make you feel stupid about ordering materials if you don't order them the way they want you to. The Guy that takes the order has an attitude. Everyone knows in construction that when it rains we can't work. So when I call you to tell you were canceling a delivery because it's raining, don't give me attitude. You work in construction you know how this goes! Be happy I called you to let you know. If this wasn't the only company in close range I wouldn't order from them anymore. This is the worst company I have EVER dealt with! They have the worst customer service on the damn planet!!! We were looking for someone to do the work ASAP and this company was recommended buy another company that was doing work at the house. To make a long story short, while their workers were on site it seemed that they were not doing much but just standing around and we were going to pay for them to do nothing. I called the office this morning and spoke to a horrible woman named Jamie. I asked her to send us over a copy of the receipt and began to ask her about the service the company had provided. The moment that I disagreed with something she said she completely turned and began screaming at me!! I asked why we were supposed to pay for the workers sitting there and wasting time and she said that that is the way they work. I asked her to make me understand how that made sense and she just got a really bad attitude and said that it was something that is explained upon ordering the concrete, I told her no such thing was EVER explained to me and she insisted that it was! I told her to stop raising her voice at me and explained that if I wasn't told that she can't claim that I was if she was not part of that initial conversation!! She started to scream even louder saying that all she cared about was what time their logs showed the workers in and out so if they weren't doing anything it was not her problem. I asked her to hold to get the other person in this matter on the line and she said ok and hung up on me. I called again 15 minutes later after calming down and asked another person to send me over the receipt and it's been about 3 hours almost and no receipt. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT DO WORK WITH THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY. THEY OBVIOUSLY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE TERM THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. (Even if I had been wrong, screaming back at me that she was right and that she didn't care that we got horrible service wouldn't fix things!) read more

poured with milpitas over a hundred times , just found out about yelps so i thought id give a review..... 3 reasons why:no.1 they say a time for delivery and dont be surprised when the truck shows up on time, saves me $$$ on labor. no.2 the concrete is consistent in quality, i can finish the ready-mix with my eyes closed ( not really but you get the point ) no. 3 the trucks are spotless and dont leak oil.... thanks milpitas read more

We were hesitant after having an absolutely horrific experience with Concrete Ready Mix out of San Jose the day before when they tried to sell us bad mix but Milpitas Materials were professional, prompt and our experience with them was very positive. read more
