Love this place. The appeal and service has really been stellar recently, especially all the cool stuff going on with marketing. Makes the place feel more lively and eventful. It almost feels more than a restaurant, more like a celebratory gathering with friends and a beautiful spot. You can tell there is a lot of organizing being done behind the scenes to give the customers a wonderful experience and I know I personally really appreciate that, it stands out to me. Lol!

First timers and we will definitely be back. Restaurant was clean, service was awesome and we were sat immediately. The selection was great and we love the taste of the fresh salsa. I had the tortilla soup which was huge and the best I've ever had since it didn't have a bunch of corn, squash etc. The other dish being the carne asada and enchiladas, was insane and fresh. The prices, including my swirl price, seemed on par with any other place I've been too except for chain places. I would rather have some place with flavor like this any ways. We also received a free queso for being first timers. Will come back to try out the brunch menu. Thanks for the attentive service!

Service was great. Food and margaritas were delicious. Very cute, quaint little spot. Will definitely return and will recommend!

I am mad that I am just finding out how good this restaurant is. I never knew we had this amazing gem in Denton but I am glad I know now. The margaritas were so good and the food was even better.

Something about this place seemed kind of off when eating here but I can't quite put my finger on it. The food is really quite expensive compared to some of the other locations in town and it seemed like the mixed drinks could possibly be OP. The service is alright they are pretty prompt even with the place being huge. But the thing that gets me is the holes in the wall and the general ambiance of the place it's like it is trying to be something but it hasn't quite figured out exactly what that is. Two big areas combined together with a huge bar. Have been twice with my parents because they love the place apparently. Have sat on both sides. I much preferred broken plate side to the non broken plate side. Good time with the family terrible gas afterwards. Hard to sit in the movie theater after that one. Luckily the movie we wanted to watch was also on Amazon Prime.

The food at Milpa Kitchen Restaurant is a little expensive and menu missing a few classics, but this spot is worth it due to the vegan options, fresh food, and drive thru ordering. I did not eat here regularly before the pandemic, but we go almost every other month now. The birria is tender and delicious and the Tacos Al Pastor Vegano are spot on. I like the pineapple agua fresca as it is super refreshing and not a powder mix.

    Mega burrito

Milpa has very yummy food, quick service, a cute interior, and it was not too pricey!

I ordered this from Uber eats and and requested to lock it up. First thing first I get there and was told my whole order was canceled because they didn't have horchata. (Ok so why cancel the meal) Secondly, I get home to finally enjoy the food I waited an extra 30min for just to see this.... Let's be honest this is not a birria taco. Not at all. Doesn't even taste like it. It's very hard and has not cheese pull. I'm so disappointed that my meal turned out terrible. I should have taken it as a sign when it got canceled.

Super cool concrete bar, massive drink selection!

I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it! Sis and I were at Golden Triangle and both became famished at once! Yelp to the rescue, this place was a mile away. Chips and salsa, here we come. Oh wow, we drive up to the seediest looking place next to an old motel. We're going in anyway because we need foods and drinks ASAP. The parking lot looked empty (3:30) but when we entered, the place was full of life! Super cool concrete bar! Exceptional waiter! Vegan options!! First things first: drinks. What an extensive cocktail menu! Sis got a Mojito (something crafty) and me a Margarita, plain and simple with a jalapeño. Uh, yummie! And got a nice buzz right away. We got the chips and vegan queso made of carrots, which did taste carroty and looked pretty orange. I snacked on just that but sis ordered a chicken burrito thingie. She devoured. We left extremely happy and I'll take hubby for date night soon.

Great food, good service, and the Latino bartender is so fine! Recommend this place anytime, disregard the creepy motel next door.

Is this place open or not? I believe the hours need to be updated. They weren't open last week when I called. I tried calling again today and there was no answer.

They are open. Keep trying! Also their new brunch menu is amazing!

My Paloma and dirty martini were fabulous. My daughter ordered the pot roast grilled cheese, zero complaints. She absolutely loved the onion jam. My two youngest had the kid's tenders and a full salad. Again no complaints. My husband and I shared the crab stuffed flounder. Absolutely delicious. The 5 grain risotto was creamy, the seasoned veggies had the perfect bite to them. The fish was perfect cooked. My mother had the BLT. That thing was STACKED with thick cut perfectly crispy bacon. My son and his girlfriend each had the hot honey chicken sandwich and the Nashville hot chicken. HUGE pieces of chicken, perfectly cooked and again, theme of the night, zero complaints. Overall, this was infinitely better than our last visit. Granted, service was never the issue but food wise, yall were working some magic in that kitchen this time around.

It's unassuming from the entrance, but it's in a historic square in Denton, so I know it's going to have charm. And charm is the right word for this restaurant. Exposed old brick walls, the kind you know have experienced much over the past 100 years. The decor looks like a step back in time (but modern) almost like you're walking back into the 1940s. It's gorgeous! The food was super good too! I had the eggplant sandwich and I enjoyed every bite. The thing I really like about this restaurant is all the vegetarian portions along with the normal staple meat options. It's a wonderful menu. The staff was in point - very polite and friendly. And I dk like suggestions when I go to eat at a new restaurant, and I was not disappointed. Our waitress knew the menu and knew how the food tasted. Love that!

The overall vibe has changed, and not in a good way. There seems to be a clear tension in the space that makes it uncomfortable to be there as a customer. From what I've observed, the current manager creates a very unpleasant environment. She consistently appears angry, tense, and overly controlling, and it visibly affects the staff. The employees often look uncomfortable, uneasy, and as though they are being constantly micromanaged. It's hard not to notice, and it completely changes the energy of the place. As someone who has spent money here and genuinely liked coming in before, it's frustrating to see management have such a negative impact on what used to be a welcoming environment. A business like this depends heavily on atmosphere, and when management makes both employees and customers feel uncomfortable, it reflects directly on the entire experience. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't already driven more employees away, because it is definitely pushing customers away. I hope ownership seriously reevaluates the current management situation before it causes even more damage to the business.

Highly critical of everything from the chips and…read moresalsa to the tortillas and the red and green chiles used (if it's spelled with an "i" on the menu...chili...huge red flag!). First, the atmosphere is very inviting for both a gathering of friends, but also a family could have a great meal there without feeling like you have to yell or compete with a happy hour crowd. The decor is chic and the mural in the rear part of the restaurant is amazing. We generally do not get cocktails often, but with a 1/2 off happy hour, we tried two different ones and both were amazing. One had a chamoy straw and I wish I could tell you what they were called, but I can't remember - just go with what looks like the most complex flavors and you won't be disappointed. We had the empanadas as an appetizer...excellent flaky crust, great filling; the fajitas, another great pick; and the short rib enchiladas with a pipían sauce...think spicier mole and not as chocolate-ly. I used to have pipían as a kid and this is a pretty good representation. If you like spicy, ask for the spicier salsa which is still not killer spicy (I could have used more heat) but the morita chiles speaks to the kitchen's knowledge of Mexican chiles and how to use them. Well done.

The drinks were also good! Now- the food. I hate to say this but it was very white washed mediocre Mexican food. And I had such high hopes because of how beautiful the inside was. The queso fundido was the best thing we got. But everything else was just "meh". Then we got the tres leches for dessert and it wasn't even wet which sealed the deal for me. It's acceptable, but you can go two blocks around the corner and get GOOD Mexican food.
