We checked in at 10:40 with a party of 6 for the patio that was maybe 1/4 full. If even. We were quoted a 45-55 minute wait time due to reservations. Understood, figured they were maybe 11 am reservations. Nope. They were reservations spanning throughout the whole morning so they just weren't seating at those tables due to that. However, in the hour plus that we were waiting we could have been seated, served, and left happy before those reservation times even rolled around. We were told we were waiting for one table in particular to leave. They had checked out then proceeded to sit there for an additional 40 minutes. The server didn't clear their table or make any attempts to check on them after to see what was going on. However, when we were seated- our plates were cleared as we were taking our last bites. Leaving us feeling rushed- not how we wanted to feel after standing for that long! The wait for coffee was ridiculous for an all day breakfast place. We take back every nice thing that we said about this place. We were camping in the area again and had such a pleasant dining experience last time that we decided to come for dinner here with our friends who were with us. Uh, bad call on our part. The food was not very good this time around and whoever is running the grill should be fired because they don't know how to use it. Drinks were still fine, as were the brussels sprouts which even the kids gobbled up. The duck confit tostada and the lamb meatballs were OK, but the latter came out barely luke-warm. Dinner is where everything fell apart. One of us ordered citrus salad with chicken and it was swimming--nay, DROWNING--in dressing. Everything else on the plate, of course, became a sogfest and there was a 5:1 citrus: greens ratio. HOT MESS that thing. Two adults at the table ordered the steak frites and BOTH of them were cooked to the wrong temps and had to be sent back (the same problem as last time). What the what?? Ridiculous. Our server was a bit of an odd bird and the apps came out 5 second after we ordered them, well before the drinks. No excuses for this being "well, it's Waco" this time. We were unfortunately disappointed on our visit. We came on a Sunday and went on a wait list when multiple tables were open. Their reason was it was for reservations to come. Some were never filled while we were there so they are missing customers at the door that way. Also, the hash was great but cold. The bread pudding French toast was awful. It really had an unusual texture and flavor that didn't resemble either items. We realize that may be the very intent of the dish but it just was very very dense. Wow was this place delightful! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is bright and clean with outdoor seating that can accommodate pets. Due to its industrial themed building and openness, it is a bit loud fyi. The food was very quality farm to table ingredients. My mom was raving about the coffee! My daughter and I love coming to Waco to shop; however, we haven't found the greatest places to eat until now. We ate at Milo for the first time, and we fell in love! Anna-Leea waited on us, and she was the sweetest waitress we have ever had. Everything she recommended was absolutely amazing! The food tasted so fresh and delicious! Also, one of the kindest things happened to us while we were about to leave. I told our waitress that I was a little nervous about my daughter and me walking to my car because I had to park a few blocks away, and it was getting dark. As we were walking out Anna-Leea and Sammie (a worker from the kitchen) came out of the back door, and Anna-Leea insisted that Sammie walk us to our car. I was blown away by how caring they were. I went here for the first time during Memorial Day. I decided to come here to avoid the crowd at Magnolia Table. I ordered the bloody mary and the "I'm not a princess" I enjoyed the latter, however the bloody mary was not the best. It was too peppery and imo it was not the drink to go. I had wanted to order the mimosa and sangria but I was told that the proseco that goes in the drink was just delivered and so it had not been chilled yet. That is the main reason that this place is not getting a higher rating. I feel like they should have known of the traffic for Memorial Day and it was poor planning. Overall the food was fine, I think this was one of the better brunch places in Waco. The only thing that was excellent was the service. This place is dog friendly which is a plus. We sat on the patio side that had large fans for a hot day. We came during Brunch time. The mimosa was pretty tasty and the beers on tap were refreshing. Forgot what everything was called but everyone enjoyed what they got. It lacked flavor and the tortilla was oddly flavorless. This place is down the street from Magnolia and the silo's which made it super convenient. It looks like the downtown Waco will have some really cool places to shop and eat in the future. this place is sooo cute! they have plants everywhere, huge warehouse like space with just such a chill environment. love love love the decorations. the bathroom was so cute as well with a shared sink space. we went for brunch and i will admit the portions were a lil small. we had the pimento cheese and crackers app. it's a good option for two people but any more, might need a second or another app for everyone. the chilequiles was tasty! i wish it had a second egg and more meat because it was pretty tortilla chip heavy but otherwise very good. i also had a spicy bloody mary which was very tasty but kinda small. read more

We were really excited to eat at Milo, especially after seeing the feature on food network- while it was good, it wasn't somewhere I'd come back to. The biscuits were flaky and soft but barely warm, our burrito was missing the pork and we didn't realize it until we actually finished our meal. Our food took over an hour to come out and our waitress was extremely rude about it and went on to excuse the long wait time on the timing in which we put our order in because they got a lot of orders all at once. We came to find out that the kitchen had run out of chicken and that was an excuse. If we were told that to begin with I would've gotten something else than wait on it for 75 minutes. The restaurant provides a pleasant trendy ambiance and is very spacious. Covid-19 precautions were being taken, and the establishment was very clean. On to the food - we started with the brussel sprouts for an appetizer. Don't not get them. Wow. My wife had the beef short rib, and it was the most tender short rib I've had. It broke apart as easy as the mash potatoes under it. I had the carnitas and they were better than most Mexican joints I've been to! The flour tortillas were fresh and clearly made in house. I could have had them alone. Lastly, we also had an order of truffle fries which were delicious! All in all. Every item is very unique and carefully crafted. Visited for dinner on a Saturday night during my family's visit to Waco. We had a reservation for 7pm, but ended up arriving early after completing our to-dos for the day and luckily, they sat us an hour early. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, although not extremely knowledgeable on the drink menu (Pimm's no. 1 is an infused gin). Our table shared the cheese board, pimento cheese, and man on a buffalo in a blanket for appetizers. The latter is like a pig in a blanket except buffalo sausage - highly recommend! The pimento cheese was amazing (coming from someone who lives in NC and has had a few dozen varieties), but the cheese board could've been skipped. The goat cheese on the board was frozen little balls that were not easy to eat let alone cut in half and shared. As for our mains, my mom and I shared the trout with veggies and shrimp & grits. The Shrimp & Grits was yummy, although literally just shrimp and grits - again living in NC, I've had many varieties - where most I've had include tomatoes or sausage. The dish still had a lot of flavor although the green sauce is mostly just olive oil flavored while the cream sauce was YUMMY. As for the trout, it had no seasonings and no salt or pepper. I found the dish to be very bland. My sister-in-law also had a pasta dish that she said had no flavor. Seeing as there was no salt & pepper on the tables, we couldn't even add it on our own. I gave 3 instead of 4 stars due to the goat cheese being frozen and lack of flavor in 2 of our 6 plates. It is a neat restaurant and I like the concept so I would be willing to come back and try it again if I'm ever in Waco. read more

Was driving to Union Hall (an indoor dining hall with several restaurants) and this place caught my eye. So I decided to stop in here instead for brunch. It's cute with both indoor and outdoor seating and the inside is well decorated with plants everywhere and the bathroom is just adorable. I was seated within 10 minutes and the food came out lightening fast. I got the farmer's daughter, which is roasted veggies in a salsa verde with an egg and a side of biscuits. The decaf coffee I got was one of the best tasting ones I've had (from Native Sons Coffee in Waco). The salsa was a bit salty but the dish overall was filling and I especially loved the picked onions, and the biscuits were delicious but seemed like they had been sitting out for awhile. They were served with a delicious berry jam and something that resembled peanut butter in appearance and texture but tasted like butter. After being originally scared from this place from my first visit right when it opened, (Got raw chicken just a nasty experience) I finally got the nerve to try it again. The atmosphere is really neat; I love the glass garage doors. The food is ok. I got the "Fried Chicken Sando" and truffle fries. Truffle fries were tremendous. The sandwich was okay. Chicken was tender and flavorful, but the yellow squash layered at the bottom of the sandwich definitely was not a complement. I ended up pulling it out. To be honest I felt kind of sick afterward. I've been several times for brunch and have had an overall great experience each time. Food - I have tried the georgia benedict, brunch burger, chicken and waffles, and the just like buddy holly. I would definitely recommend the georgia benedict and brunch burger! The food is tasty with reasonable proportions, and the price is what you would expect from a trendier brunch place. Service - Our waitresses have all been fantastic, and all the staff are friendly and attentive! However, the wait time to be seated is around 5-10 min, even when there are several open tables. Our average wait times for our food to arrive have been 25+ min, even when the restaurant is half-empty. Parking - The parking lot is very small. Have had to find a parking spot a few blocks down the road each time, but not a big deal. Overall would recommend! read more
