Just being in Cambridge, alone was such an adventure! There is so much history and culture here that one cannot help but nerd out! The roads themselves have been walked by Kings, Queens, Lords, Ladies, scholars and authors. The staff was super kind and helpful. They explained the offerings and made helpful suggestions on what to order. Both the interior and exterior of the restaurant were breathtaking! Being here almost felt like being a character in an adventure novel. There is a functional wheel from when it used to be a mill. You just can't help being enveloped in the history and the ambience here. The food was also excellent here, which made it one of my favorite places in Southern England. Great location, excellent service, and good food. The restaurant is next to a pond and river, and offers a rustic style atmosphere. I ordered the lamb shank pot pie. The dish included a large portion of lamb meat, which was stringy and heavy. The pot pie had a mild flavored gravy and a very thin almost nonexistent layer of pie. The mashed potatoes, however, were the best I've ever had, with a thick texture and good flavor. Although I wouldn't recommend the pot pie, it was not bad. I would consider returning, but not after I tried other options. The price and value are fairly reasonable for the atmosphere and service. read more

Very nice atmosphere. The switches at the tables to alert for service is a great idea since this place is a bit large, you might not get attention otherwise. Eggs were poached perfectly and good amount of smoked salmon. The lamb croquettes had a good crunch but lacked a bit of flavor to counteract the sweetness of the date ketchup and sweet pickled cabbage. Excellent, excellent, excellent! We stopped here twice. On our way to our AirBnB we took a quick break and sipped mulled wine and sat outside. The cold weather didn't even bother us because the service was just right and the view was lovely. We dined for an early Christmas Dinner. Everything that was ordered was super yummy! All the serving staff was accommodating and kind. They were busy and it did not seem to change their ability to meet all of our needs. From the delicious local brewed coffee to the flexibility of the staff, this is a must dine. The kitchen was fast too. Even after we left, our kids repeatedly asked us to come back. A very picturesque place along the water in Cambridge. There is an active water wheel still running in the restaurant although just for show. The food is quite good. The burger is massive with brisket on top. Very tasty but also almost too much to eat. The desserts are quite good as well. read more

Excellent food, friendly service. I wasn't expecting to order pork ribs while in the UK, but they were fantastic! Nice cocktails as well. The place is really big with a lot of twists and turns so it feels small when you're sitting at your table. Modern cafe with innovative food and friendly service. The restaurant is unique with the ability to press a button to alert your server. Came here with wider family for brunch. I had the avocado on toast with a poached egg which was very flavoursome. The only slight problem was that I was left still hungry- this dish could do with a side of something as the pieces of bread the avocado sit on are quite small. The full breakfasts which others on my party ordered looked far more filling however as a veggie it wasn't an option for me. Think the avocado on toast would go well with a side of chips. Delicious food!!!!! In my visit to Cambridge I came to this place to have brunch and it was awesome, the bacon roll is hilarious!!!! The avocado toast and the pancakes with yougurt th are also good. Nice modern restaurant. It is part of Cambscuisine, an independent group of 7 restaurants. They offer lunch, dinner, a picnic menu etc. We came as part of a work function involving around 70 people. The dinner was well coordinated and organized. We mostly pre-ordered from a fixed price menu. I had the roasted squash salad, mussels and gooey brownie. The salad and mussels were good but not fantastic. The dessert was excellent. I'm not sure how much of it was due to the kitchen not being able to keep up with a large group. We definitely enjoyed our visit and would like to visit again to give it another try. read more

Came here for dinner and was first off surprised by how big it was! It was much larger than it looks on the pictures. I was here with a friend, and we ordered the Mezze Platter for 2 as a starter - wonderful way to start the meal. For my main I had the Tabbouleh Salad, and it was absolutely delicious! So many wonderful flavors going on all at once. For dessert we shared the Orange Custard Tart, I'm not a big fan of custard, but it was yummy and Orange-y. The staff was super friendly and I also had a kind of coffee/vanilla cocktail that the waitress recommended - it was absolutely delicious! I told her I didn't like things too sweet so she made sure she told the bartender to go easy on the syrup. So good! Will definitely return! read more

By far one of the best restaurants in Cambridge. First off, the atmosphere is amazing. Built in an old mill, the interior of the restaurant is nothing short of amazing. One of the dining rooms even contains the working waterwheel encased in glass. There are also glass panels in the floor where you can see the river flowing underneath the room. Second, the food was superb. We had the meat feast for 2 and it did not disappoint. The meat was cooked to perfection (not over cooked at all). Lastly the service was fantastic. They have buttons next to your table that you can push and it alerts the waitstaff that you need them. They were always very prompt and very friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

I am originally from the UK but have lived in the US for the past 11 years and as I travel all over the globe for work I get to eat at a variety of different places. During my most recent trip to Cambridge I received a recommendation to try Millworks and after looking at the reviews on tripadvisor and yelp I was excited to try this new restaurant. I walked to the restaurant and the location leading to the restaurant is beautiful. Upon arrival I entered a very clean and new looking facility where I was greeted immediately by a number of smiling faces. I wanted to just relax for a while before sitting down to eat and was presented a drinks menu which was pleasantly varied. The bar area is relatively small with just a few stools that look out onto the outside table and water area so pleasant enough and as this is a restaurant is more than sufficient. I had a real ale which was well presented and served with a smile. The inside of the restaurant is very well decorated and looks to be very well thought out and as this is an old historic mill . The old water wheel is still turning and this has been encased in glass as a decorative viewing area and center piece that really adds to the history of the place and also adds character with a modern twist. There are several areas to sit and each has a different view and feel of the surrounding area which gives people a choice of setting for those that want a quiet intimate meal or for those with a larger party to enjoy the atmosphere and the food. The menu is varied and is definitely upscale which is different to that of the majority of the restaurants around the area. Although the menu offers a good variety the prices are very reasonable and there is no rushing to make your choice. You are told to take your time and enjoy the surroundings until you are ready for someone to take your order which is initiated by pressing your own individual call button at each table that indicates that you are ready to provide your food and drink selection. I opted for the starter of Beef and Pork artisan sausage with salsa Verde followed by Marinated Lamb Chops with Dukkha and honey. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and very enjoyable. My evening was thoroughly enjoyable and that was due to the beautiful location, immaculate and interesting premises, happy and accommodating staff, delicious and perfectly cooked food and of course all at a very reasonable cost. There are a lot of eateries to choose from around Cambridge but this is one that you should make time for and go and visit. At the very least go and enjoy a drink while sitting either outside in the beautiful surroundings or inside in the equally beautiful surroundings enjoying all that Millworks has to offer. I am frequently in the Cambridge area and it will be a place that I will absolutely return to. read more

The food and cocktails here are absolutely delicious. My friend took me here flr the first time last night and the service was just as amazing as their carefully crafted cocktails.
