I visited The Senate on the morning of Saturday 13th August 2016 with several members of a choir from Belfast who were staying in Ely for the week and who had arranged for a Saturday morning visit to King's College, Cambridge. We called at The Senate for breakfast and I was very pleased to see something unfamiliar to me, namely the sauté potato breakfast, on the menu. It was very enjoyable, though I wish that there had been pepper mills full of black pepper on coarse grind on the tables. That would have really made it as I would have dosed quite liberally on the stuff. Sitting al fresco provided a wonderful view for the holiday snaps and the service was excellent.
