Millie's has a down home country style menu with a moderate variety of choices. I frequent Millie's for breakfast and occasionally for dinner.
What to order for breakfast:
my favorite dishes are the country scramble and the corn beef hash.
The country scramble comes with three scrambled eggs over fresh buttermilk biscuits, covered in country gravy, and accompanied by either hash browns or country style potatoes. Both potatoes are very good. This is the only restaurant where I enjoy the flavorful country potatoes as much as the hash browns.
The corn beef hash also has a great flavor, which comes with the same potato choices. What makes Millie's a strong breakfast destination is that you can get a pancake, biscuits and gravy, or a muffin instead of toast. I really like their blueberry muffins. They are always, big, fresh and flavorful.
I also enjoy their walnut grained pancakes. They are very tasty, and in my opinion, even better than their "wagon wheel' pancakes. You need to order this as a combo, however,, with eggs, and choice of meat. Millie's also makes a pleasantly spicy chili omelette
What not to order at Millie's.
Over the holidays, I tried their honey ham omelette.
I could not eat the ham since it appeared and tasted pre-digested.
Their french toast is also a little dry, because I don't think they dip the toast in egg batter
i have not tried too many dinner items, but their broccoli cheese and potato soups are very good, as is their fish and chips and turkey dinner. I also like their tuna sandwich.
I have noticed something odd about their dinner meal pricing.
Millie has two pages devoted to dinner entrees, and both pages' entrees have similar pricing.
However, the choices designated as " comfort" choices, include soup or salad, yet the other side requires an additional $2.99 for soup or salad.
I do not recall exactly what is on each side , but there seems no logic to this descrepancy.
I do recall that the steak dinners require an additional $2.99, but the meatloaf includes soup and salad. This seems backwards in my opinion.
On a final note, there is a young server named Danny who works in the evening. He is very welcoming and very cordial, but I feel he needs some advice on how to get the meal items out more quickly, and in a more coordinated fashion.
