My great aunt took me out to l breakfast and I was very impressed. This place is like a Cocoa's but with more quality food and a bigger menu. I ordered the cinnamon roll with bacon and eggs and boy was it delicious. Our waitress was nice, and attentive. Cool mom pop atmosphere diner vibes. The prices are very economical. Great place for family and friends to dine.

The service was great. This place had the old American diner feel to it. The food was just alright, everything lacked seasoning, unfortunately.

We've been to Millie's a few times, and it never disappoints! This time I got the What a Waffle combo, and my boyfriend ordered the 1/2 salad with ranch and a 1/2 BLT. The food was delicious, it has that cozy, homey flavor that makes you feel like you're eating breakfast at your grandma's house. The waffle was fluffy, buttery, and huge (I could only finish half!), and even the salad was a generous portion for being a half order. Service was great, everyone was friendly and welcoming. We were seated quickly even though it was a busy Sunday morning, and our food came out fast and hot. I also love that they walk around offering refills on coffee, such a nice touch! The diner itself has that old-school, warm, and cozy vibe, and I love that they also have a bakery where you can grab pies, cookies, or cinnamon rolls to go. There's even a cute little corner with Disney-themed trinkets and gifts, which adds to the charm. Prices are fair, especially with how generous the portions are. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to and recommending to friends!

Came out on a Sunday at 9am. This is a big restaurant, classic Americana vibe, lots of wood paneling. It's near the front of a strip mall so there was plenty of parking. We walked in and the first thing I saw was a glass case with pies (say less). We had 7 of us in total but that early on a Sunday we were seated without wait. We had a nice comfy booth in their side area. There were plenty of booth and tables walking in. The menu is EXTENSIVE. Something for everyone even a kids menu and senior menu. It was hard to make a decision, I almost went with the blintzes but my go to for a first try is usually waffles. We all had coffee and ordered. Staff was very pleasant and we ordered and waited. It wasn't too long of a wait and the our food arrived. They were very good portions and everyone was very happy with their order. I got the waffle combo. My husband got the Millie's plate. Kiddos got pancakes and French toast sticks. Everything had good flavor, if I was in the area again I'd love to stop by to try something else.

I placed a phone order for Mac & Cheese as my daughter suddenly had a craving. I arrived two-minutes later as I happened to be in the area and my order was good to go, wow!! What service. While I was waiting to pay for my order, I looked down and it was at that moment that I knew they had me. The register to pay is surrounded my pies muffins so I ended up paying for my daughter's Mac & Cheese and i picked up a small banana cream pie as well as a banana nut bran muffin for myself. Both desserts were just ok. Employees here are very friendly and ready to serve. Thank you for the GREAT service! My family and I will definitely be back for breakfast very soon

I live in Marina Del Rey but decided to go to the LA Fair this year so on my way to Pomona I decided to stop in Covina for breakfast. I had already been to most of the others in the area so decided to go with Millie's as I had never been there before. I would classify it as a country diner versus a retro diner. The menu has all sorts of American comfort food classics on it, and few elevated breakfast dishes. Inside is quite large with many different seating options including booths, tables, and counter. Our server was very polite and he mentioned that he was just about to have his seven year anniversary so it's nice to see that this restaurant has a lot of regulars. Service is also really fast, our food came out shortly after ordering it. Parking is also very easy because there is a large free parking lot attached right out front. The food itself was just OK, definitely not bad, but definitely not as good as some breakfast spots here in Santa Monica or MDR. For my meal I chose the California Avocado Omelette and thought it was pretty good, but felt the protein amount was minimal. It's not quite as hardy nor do they have as large portions as some other places close by but I still enjoyed it. I think the pricing was fair and I would stop in again if I'm in the area, although I have had better breakfasts in the Eastern Los Angeles area.

California omelette: I highly recommend, it was so good!

This place is always busy so we usually don't have time to dine here. We went on a Monday and it wasn't too busy, steady customers but the service was quick and our coffee was never empty! The food was delicious and so glad we decided to eat here. The restaurant was also very clean.

Millies is a home away from home. The staff treat you so warmly and the food always tastes like it was made with love, because it is! The ambiance is cozy diner style!

What a pleasant surprise to our day. I was expecting this place to be like Dennys, but it felt down home. When we pulled up my wife said surely these cars can't all be for the restaurant, but they were. The place was pretty well packed at 10 AM on a Thursday. Personally, I loved the interior decor. It was Christmas decor and a slice of Americana. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We both enjoyed our meals. Portions were good. The biscuit and gravy were better than average. Bacon was a bit undercooked for my preference. My wife loved the machaca. The home fries were quite good as were the refried beans.

Cornbread with corn! Butter was creamy.

Is breakfast served through out the day?

Yes, I had waffles at 10:30 at night. It was delicious. Their omelets were great as well, that's what my parents shared.

1/5 Stars Great Ambience, Terrible Food and Service…read more The only positive thing about North Woods Inn is the ambience. Unfortunately, the overpriced, poorly prepared food and inattentive service made this an extremely disappointing experience. We waited over 15 minutes just to be acknowledged, receive water, and place our order. Another server, who wasn't even assigned to our section, kindly stepped in to help. Our assigned server, Giovanni, was inattentive throughout the evening and never once checked whether we were satisfied with our food. My $28 halibut was severely overcooked, dry, and served with basic rice. The $50 ribeye lacked flavor and needed steak sauce just to be palatable. The cheesebread was excessively salty. If you had dull tastebuds were bland or blunted they would awaken from the heavy use of salt. The red cabbage tasted like it was soaked in white vinegar. Basic food doesn't need to be fancy, but at these prices, it should at least taste good. Surprisingly, the complimentary red cabbage salad was the only appetizer that was edible. On two separate occasions, we waited over 20 minutes for basic service. We also requested our check and takeout boxes twice without receiving them. I would have asked for my halibut to be corrected, but after all the waiting and lack of attention, I simply wanted to leave. The other server's willingness to help was appreciated, but it couldn't make up for the overall experience. Nice ambience aside, the food and service were unacceptable for the prices charged. I will not be returning and would not ever recommend North Woods Inn.

Every time I've been here, the table service has been extremely slow and disorganized. The staff is mostly younger, and orders are regularly forgotten or take forever to make it to the table. You'll be sitting there clearly waiting for service while servers walk by repeatedly without checking in or seeming to know what's going on. At this point, you're honestly better off just walking up to the bar and ordering your drinks yourself rather than waiting for someone to come to your table. I really want to like this place because the atmosphere is great, but the service seriously needs better organization, training, and attentiveness. It shouldn't be this difficult to order a drink.

The ambience is really cool, almost like being at an outdoor campsite, with sand under your feet. Dress casually and wear comfortable shoes! The atmosphere gets a 5/5 for making you feel like you're somewhere completely different. Unfortunately, the food was just okay. I do not recommend the shrimp tacos. They lacked flavor, and the shrimp portions were odd. It would have one big one and then a small one which was not enough for the taco. The garlic fries were delicious, as were the Brussels sprouts. I'd recommend sticking with the appetizers, which seemed better than the main dishes. Since most of us ordered shrimp tacos and shared appetizers, I'll give the food a 3/5. Parking is a major downside. The restaurant is in an industrial area with very limited street parking that fills up quickly and a really tiny parking lot. The nearby Metro station may be an option, but the surrounding area can feel uncomfortable, especially at night. I'd recommend going with someone rather than walking alone. Our server was friendly and cool, but he was difficult to track down throughout the evening. We had to flag him down several times, which frustrated some of my friends, especially when ordering drinks. To be fair, it was a busy Saturday night. Would I come back? Yes, but only for a special occasion with reservations. The ambience is worth experiencing, but for me, the food alone isn't enough to bring me back.

The service was extremely slow to start--we waited a while just for water and to get drink orders taken. We ordered the Ahi tuna appetizer, which was good, but the course pacing completely fell apart after that. Our salads took 25 minutes to arrive. Before I could even get the fresh ground pepper I requested, our main courses were rushed to the table while we hadn't even started our salads. The food quality was unacceptable for an upscale restaurant: Both my wife and I ordered our steaks medium-rare. Mine arrived completely leathery, dry as a bone, and thoroughly overcooked. I didn't eat a single bite of it. My wife's steak arrived medium-well, and her side of rice was completely dry. The bottle of red wine we ordered from their very small wine list was served warm. When we declined having the steak re-fired or free dessert, we finished our wine and asked for the check. The $62 inedible steak was still on the bill, so I asked to speak with the owner. When I calmly explained the issues, the owner became angry that I didn't want the steak redone and walked away mid-conversation. He eventually came back, removed the $62 steak, and told us he didn't want us back in his restaurant. To top it off, for an establishment charging fine-dining prices where guests dress up, the owner was wearing shorts and sneakers. One chance is all a restaurant gets to make a good impression. Lincoln House missed the mark completely. We will not be returning.

If on a tight budget, the Good Company (Covina) is a prime location for casual drinking or hangout. It's food is not bad, but you can taste its affordability. I arrived on Saturday (around 5:40PM). Customers walk to the counter and order. Staff (Omar) is friendly and hardworking. He's seen constantly moving and interacting with guests. My orders arrived quickly. The Cheeseburger Bun was ready in 5 minutes and 36 seconds. The Matcha Berry Affogato arrived at my table in 9 minutes and 20 seconds. The food's presentation is memorable. The Cheeseburger Bun ($6) includes wagyu ground beef, melted American cheese, thinly sliced pickle, and fried thin onion slivers. Eating it with the white bun reminded me of sloppy joe in a soft taco. This very wet, mushy meal is cheesy and oily. Still, it's filling and cheesy with a very affordable price-point. The Matcha Berry Affogato ($6) is a scoop of ice cream swimming in a lake of liquid matcha. The flavors are decent but not memorable. The ice cream was chill and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, the liquid matcha arrived almost lukewarm. It would have been much more refreshing if the entire dish came cold. The presentation is eye-catching, but it lacked any real taste. Still, it's a very affordable experience. Concerning ambiance, The Good Company (Covina) performs extremely well. The location is very clean and comfortable with upbeat & fun music. There's also one flatscreen tv in the corner with closed captioning english subtitles. The location is well-ventilated, and the furniture all look very new and well-maintained. Even though the location is small, the colors and decor make it feel spacious and comfortable. Overall, The Good Company (Covina) is a good, budget hangout location. The food has an attractive appearance but its taste is unfortunately comparable to premium fast food. If heading there, bring good company and you'll definitely have a good time. 4 out of 5
