Gutters were in poor shape, downspouts inadequate, lots of leaves from nearby trees...the works. All told, he gives a quote to replace three sections, get the downspouts flowing away from the house, and clean/install leaf guards on all. Call in to put down a deposit but I can't get on the schedule for a few weeks. Fast forward to the day of. The crew leader shows me a drawing he was provided of the house and is basically asking me to confirm the work/spots he has. I have a good idea of it, but doesn't make me feel comfortable. In the end, he asks if they can come back tomorrow because they don't have the right ladder for the taller back of the house. I say fine. The next day, it's raining early (app't at 9). I assume they aren't coming right then but still had to call in to confirm - still coming but pushed back to 11. Jennifer also tells me they could have come back for the ladder and done the job yesterday but it wasn't presented to me as an option. 11 comes...11:30...12...after speaking to a backup phone person who was rude to me, I finally get ahold of Jennifer again. She's extremely apologetic for both the delay and the other person who answered the phone. Once the workers arrived, they got right down to it and did a really nice job. Adjusted one section I pointed out when walking around and came back the next morning to install a downspout extension they didn't have the previous day. What I was not happy with, aside from the communication between crew/hub/myself, was all the nails and brackets all over the property from the removal of the old sections. Jennifer was once again understanding and apologetic when I called to pay off the balance and even offered to send someone out for cleanup. I declined as I think I got it all...was moreso sharing feedback as it was some sloppy bs. In sum, I'm happy with the actual work that was performed so I think I'd call 3G for other projects to at least get a quote. I contacted the company for a quote on gutters; they insisted that I be able to meet with the salesman for "x" minutes, so he can show me his "presentation". Not ideal, but I went with it. Beaudy came by and spent 90 minutes with me; taking photos, notes, calling back and forth to the "boss" to get my price lower. They agreed to lower the price if I agreed to allow them to place a sign in my yard for "x" days. Fine, I paid a deposit on that's when the fun started. The day of the install, two people came over that morning. They did not know where things went, They had no idea what a rain barrel was. I walked around with them explaining it all, and then had to leave for vacation. There was a significant language barrier; although they were very professional and worked quickly, they had no instructions. While on the road, I received a call from a guy who was at my house, wanting to review the project and making suggestions on changes due to drainage issues he discovered. I had to pull over to talk to him; I had already spent 90 minutes with Beaudy, then another hour with the install crew, now this cocky guy who I had never heard of. Where was Beaudy? Does he even work for this company? I called the office and asked that Mr. cocky pants gets off my. property and send Beaudy over. When the job was finally "done", it was not done, The rain barrel was left uninstalled; deflectors were missing in several places. The owner (?) Bryan came out several times to fix all of the problems. This is the short version, this was so ridiculous I can't believe it really happened. I finally "found" Beaudy, who said he was out with Covid for 3 weeks. That would have been nice to. know; but I still am not convinced he even works there. BIZARROWORLD.

As the owner of one house was out of town, he shot before and after pics so I could send these to the owner. This went well so I tasked him to do some roof repairs on a large house in Grosse Pointe Farms. He inspected the roof inside and out. All work was done carefully. As the project progressed it became crystal clear the the entire roof had to go. I would have expected better construction from the Blake Company, but naked plywood under shingles does not survive Michigan weather (yes, I read the code, the original would never have passed) . So, he quoted me prices - details, etc. all clearly laid out. His price was quite competitive, about HALF of one Grosse Pointe contractor, and close to another. I thought I could give this young guy a chance- again, detailed contracts with materials and costs; work was done quickly and correctly, with a manufacturers 20 or more year warranty. Nothing hidden. Photos taken to document things. Careful cleanup. No corners cut. I went to the manufacturers site and found their install instructions, etc.- he did it right. And some gutter repairs and tuckpointing on top of that all. I've got like 50 pics of all this stuff. Next, I mentioned I needed some significant landscaping done, and he offered to look around for one. I got two quotes elsewhere. He got a quote but would not pass it on to me because it was clearly above my budget. So Jonah did it. Again... satisfaction, and fair value for money. Having done building maintenance myself, I know good from not. He was very good. Further, he and his crew have never been anything less than perfectly professional and safety-minded, and he went above and beyond to help me get the building ready for resale. And thoughtful in all respects. He's a really nice guy on top of that. If I get a chance I will dig up some before/after pics. Hopefully I can edit/add them later.
