I don't usually do this kinda thing, but I recently had work done by 3G Home Exteriors... these guys were beyond great! It all started when Jake (owner) came to give me a price quote on a Friday at about 3pm and told me I would have the quote before he left the office that day, and sure enough I received it by 730pm. The three companies I requested quotes from took a week, and one I never even got a quote from. The crew was great! Very professional and friendly. They were sure to clean up everyday before they left the job site, and did a thorough cleaning of my yard upon completion of the job. Most of all, the crew cared about their work, as if they were working on their own home! We hired 3G exteriors to replace the eaves on the front of our house. We accepted the quote and gave them 50% deposit. Then, one day, a guy showed up to put up the new eaves. NO ADVANCED WARNING! During the first rain, we noticed that the corner was leaking. I called and talked to Jenny in the office. She said she'd pass this info on. Never heard anything again. Don't know if they came out. A couple of months later, another hard rain, the corner is still leaking. There is a corner piece, with a seam on each side. Still leaking! Called 3GExteriors again. Jenny stated that they did come out when I originally called them a couple of months ago. She said it was leaking because there was debris and water in the gutter. Ok, the gutters are not always going to be debris free. If there is water in the eave, because of the debris, what does that have to do with the leaking? the eave should not leak whether there is debris in the eave or not. Jenny then said that the salesman was supposed to contact me about getting gutter covers. Of course, spend more money. Not sure how that would stop the leak! With this leak in the corner, with excess amounts of rain, we will have water in our basement again! We're not happy with this company and would not recommend them. read more

With all the spring rains this year my gutters were overwhelmed. The gutter started to sag from the weight to the point that it the gutter and the board it is attached to was separated from the rafters. We called 3G and promptly Jeff was out to the house to give an estimate for the work. Jennifer in the office was aware of our urgency and saw to it that we were soon scheduled. 3G was quick to help get a quote, but after that was possibly the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I always had to follow-up to check in on timing (which consistently changed without me knowing). Got to the point where I was waiting 2+ months, only to find out they "might not be able to get to it this season". Understand this industry has been hit hard with COVID and worker availability, but they really dropped the ball with managing customers expectations and put me in a hard spot. Gutter work. Some good, some bad, altogether I'm satisfied and would use them again. Stewart came out in late August to take a look at our new home. Gutters were in poor shape, downspouts inadequate, lots of leaves from nearby trees...the works. All told, he gives a quote to replace three sections, get the downspouts flowing away from the house, and clean/install leaf guards on all. Call in to put down a deposit but I can't get on the schedule for a few weeks. Fast forward to the day of. The crew leader shows me a drawing he was provided of the house and is basically asking me to confirm the work/spots he has. I have a good idea of it, but doesn't make me feel comfortable. In the end, he asks if they can come back tomorrow because they don't have the right ladder for the taller back of the house. I say fine. The next day, it's raining early (app't at 9). I assume they aren't coming right then but still had to call in to confirm - still coming but pushed back to 11. Jennifer also tells me they could have come back for the ladder and done the job yesterday but it wasn't presented to me as an option. 11 comes...11:30...12...after speaking to a backup phone person who was rude to me, I finally get ahold of Jennifer again. She's extremely apologetic for both the delay and the other person who answered the phone. Once the workers arrived, they got right down to it and did a really nice job. Adjusted one section I pointed out when walking around and came back the next morning to install a downspout extension they didn't have the previous day. What I was not happy with, aside from the communication between crew/hub/myself, was all the nails and brackets all over the property from the removal of the old sections. Jennifer was once again understanding and apologetic when I called to pay off the balance and even offered to send someone out for cleanup. I declined as I think I got it all...was moreso sharing feedback as it was some sloppy bs. In sum, I'm happy with the actual work that was performed so I think I'd call 3G for other projects to at least get a quote. There is room for improvement in some areas but the company was understanding and receptive to feedback. read more

Do not use 3g. Hired them to install gutter flashing. I assumed I was hiring professional installers I do consider this quality workmanship. I called them to resolve the install issues and they had someone sent out who said it doesn't show from the road so they see nothing wrong with it. Well I do see something wrong with it. I hired 3G Home Exteriors to restore my home and garage after a tornado went through my yard. The detached garage and front porch were completely destroyed and my roof and siding were severely damaged. The project lead, Jamie was professional, attentive to my wishes and was a pleasure to work with. Josh and his crew did wonderful work replacing my roof, and the team that replaced my siding did a beautiful job. 3G did a great job. We had our old aluminum siding, trim, and gutters replaced. They took care of our home like it was there own. They found a number of places that the wood had to be replaced. What I was impressed with is the detail on the bending and fitting of the trim. 3G did not rush and our home took 7 days to complete. Brett was out each day to make sure the job was going well. I check many references and 3G was the best in installation and quality. You pay for quality installation. They were the best quality and no low ball price. A year ago we called 3G for a quote on siding and gutters. They sent someone to the house that gave us a reasonable quote, we told them to start work as soon as they can, we were given a date they would start start, they never showed up and were a no call. We called to see if they wanted the job still and we were told yes, someone had the flu, somebody was off , they were busy... blah blah blah!!! We set up another date and again!!!! No call no show!! We scheduled 3G Home Exteriors to do two jobs for us. There were problems with both jobs. One job was a gutter replacement the gutters were put up. However, they forgot to put on the gutter guards. They had to be called back to complete the job. There were also many scraps of metal and nails left around the house. We are still finding nails in the flower beds. The second job was a siding repair it was scheduled for 9/15/2020. However, it was not completed until 10/07/2020, and only then after another phone call. Delays for outdoor work are understandable. However, there was very little communication from 3G Home Exteriors. We usually had to call them and it usually took several calls to get a response. Even when we were told we would be called we usually were not. The siding repair seems fine. But we were not able to rely on them to get the job done on time or to communicate. read more

Replacement of siding and trim. This company did an excellent job in replacing my siding and trim that half blew off due to the wind storm on 2/24/19 in Lathrup Village, MI. The customer service is top notch, A-1, awesome and the work is the same. I asked for a quote from this site, got the quote the next morning, communicated via text and email. When I was ready to book the job, I called and spoke to Jennifer in the office she was awesome, fast, polite and very detailed. She gave me a fair quote and set the job up for Monday between 9-10. Monday at 9:01 am Matt and his help were there ready to work. They matched the color perfectly, they finished the job in the time they said they would, they even walked around my home and tacked some loose siding that they spotted, I did not ask them to do this, they did it on their own and in spite of the freezing 19 degree weather. The workmanship is so nice, that side of my home looks like nothing ever blew off. The clean up was very detail. The most amazing part about this whole experience, I was out of town when the winds did the damage, my neighbor reported it to me and I was able to get it all taken care of with 3G and my daughter via phone, text and email. I will be using this company for all my future siding, gutters, windows and roofing. I am a customer for life and will recommend them to friends and family. From beginning to end, my experience with 3G has been extremely positive. We had a problem with the gutter on the back of our house sagging because the gutter spikes had come loose (or so we thought). Because we had such a bad winter last year and we are expecting an even worse one this year, I decided we needed to fix this issue as soon as possible. I called at least 5 different gutter companies that I researched online. Only ONE called me back that day and it was 3G. Brett, the owner of the company, came to my house and provided me with an estimate to replace the back gutter (including gutter guards) within a couple days. A brief historical summary needs to be explained here also: we had an issue with rotted fascia boards when we first bought the house 2.5 years ago, and we had someone fix that for us last year when we had the exterior painted. The painter replaced the rotted boards and reattached the gutters (band aid fix). I was not happy with the painter because he forgot to paint one board and when I contacted him afterwards (after he was paid); he never got back in touch with me. Fast forward to today: Jeremiah and his partner started the job, intending to only replace the back gutter. Upon removing the old gutter, the 3G crew found that the fascia boards were not properly attached to the rafters (framing issue that probably existed before I purchased the home); the result was that the gutters contained a LOT of ice that caused them to detach from the fascia boards and sag. Now, at this point, my husband and I were not even home while the crew discovered this. They could've easily "covered it up" (like the painter did last year), not inform us and continue with the new gutter install. They could've finished the job that day, collected their money, and we would have no way of knowing the bigger problem until it resurfaced in the near future. But that's NOT how 3G operates. The crew took several pictures of their findings and Brett promptly sent them to me. Once my husband and I got home, Jeremiah explained the issue to us in detail, answering any questions we had. He was polite, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Brett called me the next morning and we discussed the additional scope of work for the job, agreed to a price, and the 3G crew completed (Bobby and Rob finished up) their work promptly within a couple days. I can't sing this company's praises enough - I felt as though they treated my home like they'd treat their own. From the owner of the company to the crew, they are honest workers who proved their knowledge and dependability to me. It is refreshing to do business with hard-working and trustworthy contractors. I hired this company to fix some rotten trim and replace gutters in July of 2021. The guys who showed up to repair the wood told me that they "never really do this stuff" they then put up indoor trim on the outside of my home, damaged the drywall in my master bedroom, and took 5 days to do a 2 day job. The workers were not qualified at all to do this kind of carpentry, the man was just working with his son and later told me that they mainly do car jobs and they they will probably quite 3G once my house is done. I ended up having my painters replace hate the trim that these guys messed up. The whole presses was very frustrating and I could not get anyone in the company to respond to my texts or calls. If you go with this company DO NOT TRUST YOUR ORIGINAL QUOTE, the guy who quoted my house from 3G estimated that they needed far less wood than what was required adding an additional $3000 to my cost at the end. The worker also told me multiple times that he just got out of the hospital and really shouldn't be working which is why it took 5 days for this simple job. From start to finish these guys were great! So kind and quick and happy to entertain any "silly" questions that I had. Very reasonably priced and so very happy with the results! We had originally called to have a few problem spots repaired, but ended up just replacing all the gutters due to an honest price, as well as being fairly certain my gutters were installed when my house was built in 79. Contacted 3G Exteriors last October because my chimney was leaking. Louis came to my home to inspect the chimney to give me a quote and told me that he was certain the leak would be repaired after replacing the chimney. The quote was a little high, but I wanted the leak repaired. His crew came out to tear down the chimney and rebuilt chimney in about 3 days. Since the repair job, the chimney is still leaking and has ruined the flooring next to the chimney. I contacted 3G again to have someone inspect the chimney again since the issue was never resolved. Louis was a no show on the Saturday scheduled so we rescheduled for today, Monday. Again, he didn't show up or call. I'm quite disappointed about the unprofessionalism of this company so far. read more

I advised the receptionist that this property was unoccupied and boarded up but was structurally sound and asked if this is the type of property they can work on. She said Yes and booked my appointment for after 5p. The estimate guy called at 530p and said he would be there after 7p. He arrived at 630p so i was not there. He called me back and said that although he did not have a ladder to go on the roof and had not been in the attic that his guys would not take on the project and that he was leaving before 7p, before I got there, because they were turning down the project and he did not feel safe waiting. I told him that the roof is structurally sound and that I would be there in 5mins the time he set to meet. He said that he would not wait and argued with me until he confessed it was because the street it is located. This is all visible from Google, if they have certain areas the do not serve they should not waste anyone's time. It is still daylight. I literally just drove past other investors rehabbing properties on this street. If you discriminate, Detroit is not the place for you to do business! read more

After getting a quote from Hansons we were disappointed in the big guys turn time. I called 3G and an estimator for gutters came out the next day. The price was roughly half of the big guy and 3G installed within 10 days. We are so pleased with the quality of materials and the promptness of the installation. The installer working alone finished his work in one day. Everybody we interacted with at 3G was professional and courteous. They came in at budget and I time. I recently dealt with co-owner Jake on a 6" gutter job and couldn't be happier. He worked with me on making improvements to the existing layout, color matching with real samples, and dealing with a short notice window in which to get in and get the job done due to other efforts that were going on at the same time. Larry the crew leader and all of those dealt with were extremely friendly and professional. I am going to start with a 4-star rating of this company. When I was looking for seamless gutters I called 3G and two other companies. Jake at 3G came out the same day and was very courteous, helpful, and seemed to know the business quite well. He gave us the confidence and professional suggestions to give them an edge. Well, the other two companies didn't seem to be interested. One didn't respond and the other suggested I email them some pictures and they would send a quote. We went with 3G. So far, with no rain yet, I can say the installation duo worked pretty efficiently. Although I thought the crew would be a couple more people, the installation went 'pretty smooth', until they ran across an exterior light which 'could' interfere with the gutter installation and leaf guard (I'm a little surprised that this wasn't seen in the initial quote, or in the morning when they were doing the gutter tear-out). They modified the installation, and it seems ok (will update when it rains). The installation began at 9:30 a.m. and the duo didn't leave until after 7:00 p.m, so it was difficult to examine the final product until the next morning. As I said I will update later. AFTER 1st RAIN: Everything worked great except some minor leaking behind one gutter. When I called 3G regarding this, they immediately responded, sent out a crew to fix the problem. I am changing rating to a 5-star. They are competent, courteous, and I highly recommend this company! read more
