Pictures show the quality of work done, this is what they consider a good job. Asked owner to come out to review work done, he refused and stood by "the word" of his employee. We had several complaints, their only solution was discount, not a redo of poor job. Response to their response: Their "expert" advice on a better way to do it was to have the tile go to the ceiling so we couldn't see the poor tile cuts. I have seen many glass tile installs that had beautiful cuts, nothing like the jagged and broken tiles on ours. Also they offered to come put silicone over the broken / jagged tiles. The terrible cuts are just one part of the poor job, there is also cracked grout, missing tile in one spot, no space between many tiles. read more

I have a gutter downspout that needed to be reconnected and strapped into place. Someone came while I was home, but no one asked for clarification and just strapped the downspout down and left me an invoice for $150! The down spout is still not connected to the gutter. read more

Needed to repair our chimney flashing in a short amount of time and brought a couple companies out to give us a quote. Steve from Michigan's Handyman came out on Tuesday to give us a competitive quote and was able to start the job Friday afternoon of the same week. Steve was very easy to work with and responded to text messages quickly. The day of the job Steve was on time and he worked very efficiently with his brother. I wish I could give them more stars. They cleaned out my gutters and did a good and timely job. I have to give them 1 star, however, because they constantly don't return my calls and have no-shows. After receiving their awesome gutter cleaning service, I thought Michigan's Handyman would always be timely and do an efficient job. That was not the case, however. I called a few weeks later so I could get an estimate on some jobs inside my house, as well as a downspout install that they had recommended. We set up an appointment at 1pm for a few days later. I waited until 2pm and the Michigan's Handyman employee did not show up. I called the office and the receptionist told me she would get a hold of the employee and call me back. She never called back. He never showed up. I was extremely frustrated. I tried again about a month after that. I called to get an estimate on some bathroom work. The receptionist said she would call an employee and have him call me back to set up a time. Once again, she never called back. I wouldn't count on Michigan's Handyman. They are unreliable. Due to the continuous lack of returned calls, I have a feeling they will only value your phone call if you're a big, money-making job for them. read more

After the big wind storm, several other businesses refused to quote some basic maintenance items for my home, or required an exorbitant deposit for a relatively simple repair. In my case, this was a gutter and downspout that had become detached from the house at the tallest point from the ground (about 30 feet up). Michigan's Handyman not only quoted, they came when they said they would, completed the repair quickly and charged a fair price in doing so. We lost a bunch of shingles during a big wind storm. I called that day and they came right out and got back to me with a quote. They did the job the same day and also cleaned up the yard of shingles that blew off. The only down side, they charged us $25 more than quoted with no explanation (my parents were the only ones homes and wrote the check). I called for a quote on Tuesday, August 22. I gave all my contact information to the woman who answered as well as the list of items we need done. (Gutter cleaning, sink stoppers fixed, a small piece of siding on second story put back up.) She told me that someone would contact me that day. It was already afternoon at that time, so I didn't necessarily expect a return call that evening. However, I did not receive a call back the following two days. I called back on Friday and spoke to the same woman I initially spoke with. I told her I'd never heard back from anyone. She still had all my information and remembered my call and said she didn't know what happened, but someone would get back to me. It is now August 30, eight days after my first call, five days after my second and I have still not gotten a return call to get a quote. This makes me question their overall reliability.
