The guy's name is Henry, and he with his sons do a couple things, one in particular is taking down trees. I just purchased a house in Kingsgate, part of Kirkland, and there is literally a small forest surround the joint. That I mean here is that the property has basically 20+ trees surround it. As any good homeowner, I have to keep the place classy, and to do that, meant cutting about 10 large trees down, which were basically shedding leaves all over the roof and the property. I didn't have any option, and through my neighbor, he recommended that I talk to these guys, among others. I got the sales pitch, which was the typical, but they made it a point to check them out, ask around. Here's what happened with the service. This family business was dedicated to making sure that we could work something out; sure there are lower priced people, might have done the job well, but they made the point to showcase that fact that it's going to be done right. Did he deliver? Oh yes, I came back from my business trip and all the trees slated for removal were gone. I didn't expect the quality work to be as good as it was, but it was. When all was said and done, I could safely say, "got Stumps?"... "yes... and that's a good thing." If you are looking for tree service on the eastside, sure you have options, some might be cheaper, but from what I can tell, if you are looking for the job done right, and under a deadline, then you might have to give these guys a call, because they came in, and took care of everything, and a few extras too. read more

Avoid them since they are not professional and not responsible. They assumed the sewer pipeline is 3ft deep, didn't take any precaution for cutting the big tree, and damaged the underground sewer pipeline. They covered the damaged area with debris and didn't notify you the damage. And after 10 days, the damaged sewer pipeline was totally blocked and caused the water overflowing inside my house. I called Henry, and he didn't want to take any responsibility about this damage. read more

Had them take down a ~100 ft tall hemlock that had split. Henry returned my initial call very quickly, came out the same day for a quote, and was back later in the week to take care of the tree. I was gone when they felled the tree but when I came back the job was done, the branches had been chipped into a neat pile, and the job site immaculately cleaned. They dropped the sections of tree exactly where I wanted them, not a branch out of place! Very happy and won't hesitate to call them again. read more

Fast at giving a quote and removal however once finished I was not told about the damage to my satellite dish and grass. I contacted them and they said they would fix it. Since then it hasn't been fixed, I also found half of the stump they missed during removal. I've tried contacting them again and haven't received a response. read more

I am planning on re-landscaping my yard and I needed all of the trees and shrubs in my yard removed. I called them up and got an estimate the next day. The price was reasonable so I had them do the work. They were there on time and did the work I asked for and cleaned up well after they were done. I couldn't ask for more. Henry and his sons + crew have spent the past week at our home removing 30 trees. My husband and I have been nothing but 100% pleased with the guys and their work. I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. We found them through our neighborhood email chain as they have done work in the neighborhood previously. June 9, 2014 I called to let Gotstumps know that while they were doing work at my back neighbors they had broken a fence post. I had seen crew member in my back yard without asking permission as part of their clean up and perhaps this was when post was broken. A Henry Miller left me a message saying if they broke something they would fix it. Well, on June 20th I left a message after not hearing back and never heard nor saw them after that. That November windstorm knocked fence down and my neighbor had it gerryrigged back up when I got back. I added post the next week myself. Make sure when you work with Got Stumps, you understand their minimum fee structure. I obtained a referral for Got Stumps from my father in law. In his case, he had three twisted willows cut-down and removed that came to $220 per tree. In may case, I had one twisted willow of the same size to remove (tree fell in the recent ice storm) and when I called Got Stumps, took it for granted that the invoice would be in the range of my father-in-law's experience. Shame on me, I quickly learned there were minimum equipment and labor mobilzation fees when I received a bill of $596 for the service. I have paid this bill even though we did not enter into a written agreement. I have also provided ownership with guidance that minimum fee structures should be communicated to all clients....especially whent the referral is discussed up front and fee structure by ownership is known to be different. In my case, had I known the fee was going to be what it was, I would have done the work myself. In regards to the work, it was fine. I communicated as such to the owner however when I finally had a chance to review the area in the daylight, I had a fair amount of wood chip debris to clean up. read more
