    Dipsea Decadence Milkshake
    Allie G.

My friends and I stopped into Mill Valley Swirl after hiking Mount Tamalpais all day, and it was just what we needed. It was a late Sunday afternoon and the place wasn't too busy - just one family and us. They offer both ice cream and self-serve frozen yogurt, but all three of us were in the mood for milkshakes. I initially was going to order the S'mores flavor, but the girl at the counter advised that the milkshake would be hard to drink with all the marshmallow and graham crackers mixed in. I went with the Berry Cheesecake instead, but after trying a taste of the S'mores, I did have some regret. It was still tasty though - just a bit more berry than cheesecake. My friends ordered a Cookies & Cream Milkshake and Dipsea Decadence Milkshake - both delicious. Parking right in front of the store was easy and service was pretty fast. The two girls working appeared to be high school students and they were sweet and helpful. Would return!

Best fro yo and ice cream shop in Marin. Frozen yogurt is all so creamy and amazing, and the seasonal flavors are always fun. Been coming here for years and the staff are always nice, and the frozen yogurt always hits the spot. Widest variety of toppings for any frozen yogurt shop, and everything is so fresh. Such cute interior design too and such a welcoming, cute vibe. 10/10 recommend this place and it's definitely a must stop by if you are in the area. Oh, and you have to try the marshmallow sauce on top it's SO GOOD.

No vacation (or evening) is complete without ice cream! Walking back from dinner we saw Swirl and stopped in. There were scooped ice cream and frozen yogurt choices. We chose the ice cream. But, there were some interesting yogurt flavors! The young men serving us were friendly and helpful. A sweet end to a good day!

Horrible customer service, workers were very rude and short tempered! One man even yelled at my kid.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with big smiles and a genuine "welcome" that you just don't find everywhere. The staff was incredibly patient as we sampled flavors, which was much appreciated! What really sets this place apart, though, is the atmosphere. It's so much more than just an ice cream shop. They have these awesome kid-oriented art activities that kept my little ones busy and creative, plus free arcade games that brought back some serious nostalgia for the adults. It's the perfect spot to actually relax while the kids have a blast. I have to obviously mention the most important part: the ice cream. It is phenomenal. They've developed their own recipes and you can tell they put a lot of thought into them. The ube is a must try! It's vibrant, earthy, and sweet--hands down the best ube ice cream I've had in the city. And I have to shout out the cookie dough - this isn't your standard grocery store version. The dough chunks are huge and have a unique, homemade taste that pairs perfectly with the base. If you're looking for a family-friendly spot with an amazing vibe and even better treats, this is it. We will definitely be back!

Ice cream is fine but mill valley swirl is much better. I think they got new ownership somewhat recently and this is a classic play to just milk the customer base (pun intended). The wait was a bit longer than anticipated since it was a warm Saturday - reasonable, with just one employee. Though, she was patient (despite the kids not so much, lol). The storefront was a small space, so it was hard to see the ice cream physically even though, there was a menu. Otherwise the ice cream was perfect (yes I ate my kid's ice cream!). It had a perfect smooth ice cream texture with a soft crunch from the cookies. When a bite had a cookie, it was like a blast of flavor, but not overwhelmingly sweet. Enjoyed the bits of cookies versus chunks of cookies. Also, loved how tiny the kids sizes were - size was just right and did not easily melt. Even though it was late, the person helping us was still really friendly and helpful. A few items were already sold out, which was a little disappointing, but totally understandable that close to closing. The ice cream was really good. It was super creamy. The matcha flavor was nice and balanced, and the cookie crumble added a good texture. The date shake was also delicious with a natural sweetness. Only downside is that it's a bit pricey, but overall still a solid spot for a treat. It's also in a plaza with a bunch of surrounding restaurants so it's a perfect dessert spot for after dinner.

We got there on a Saturday before opening and sat in the outdoor seating area out front. They open at 9am and opened right on the dot. The lady working there was so kind and offered to turn on the fireplace for us. The inside was super cute and cozy, with a French-inspired café vibe. You grab your own silverware and they also have hot sauce out for anyone to take. There are quite a lot of choices, so it was hard to choose just one. I ordered the ham & cheese crepe ($13) and my friend ordered the apple cinnamon & brown butter crepe ($8). We waited about 8-10 minutes, and both were really delicious! The ham & cheese was warm, savory, and super yummy for a morning breakfast meal. The apple cinnamon & brown butter crepe is a perfect choice for any sweet tooth lovers. The other shops are the usual mix of cute but slightly overpriced boutiques. There's a crepe stand at one end, a coffee shop with sandwiches, salads, and bakery items, and a sit-down restaurant in the middle. Dogs are welcome to walk around, which is great, but I did notice a sign in a dirt area that said, "Do not pee here," with a picture of a dog. While I understand the sentiment, I'd honestly prefer my dog choose a dirt patch over the main pathway.

The bar is tiny but mighty -- great martinis, great energy, and absolutely worth getting there early if you want to snag a seat. It's easily the best part of the experience. Dinner in the main dining room is where things shift. It's loud, full of big party tables, and conversation can get tough. Still, the food has its highlights. The onion rings (really more like a mountain of crispy onion strings with a homemade dipping sauce) are a must‑start. The scallops over risotto -- a special that night -- were fantastic, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The ribs had great seasoning but were unfortunately more fat and bone than actual meat, which was disappointing for a dish that should be a crowd‑pleaser. Dessert is where Buckeye wins you back. The s'mores pie is the indulgent treat you didn't know you needed, and the baked lemon pudding leans more toward a lemon cake layered with custard and huckleberry jam -- bright, comforting, and memorable. A special shoutout to our waitress, who was an absolute gem. You could tell she was dealing with some less‑than‑kind patrons, yet she stayed warm, patient, and genuinely lovely throughout.
