DO NOT MOVE HERE. I've only been here 6 months and I want to break my lease but they refuse to make a deal. There are constant crimes happening in the parking lot like cars stolen, car parts stolen, tires stolen, cars getting broken into, if not daily at least a few cars once a month. And this has been happening for years according to residents that have been here for longer. They keep promising to increase police patrol and security but nothing has changed. They give you a lame excuse that crime happens anywhere, okay and I guess "anywhere" is also known as Mill Creek with the amount of crime going on. This place is a nightmare and an expensive one too. Im trying to get out of here asap. And now I find out there's roaches in some units? The maintenance guys are literally the only ones that deserves the good ratings. read more

I just wanted to start off by saying that Ive been a resident here now for a few months and honestly I love it. In the beginning I was helped through the process by a lovely lady named Sally. She was very helpful throughout the entire move in process and walking my wife and I through the paperwork and explaining everything. Moving is often stressful especially when you want to make sure you're making the right move on deciding the place however she has reassured us this place was a great choice and it did not disappoint. Mill creek apartments is a totally unmanaged apartment. children run around the apartment making noise, no parents taking care. It is easy to lose your package, and someone could break your car. Also, you can find dog crap in the parking lot. Especially the leasing office is totally useless, I reported the problems, they are not taking care, just taking to ignore you because you have already moved in. Also, if you report maintenance issues, you will take a long wait time if you don't push them again and again. read more

Pablo is one of the best maintenance guys -- he gets his work done efficiently and appropriately. He is polite and very respectful. He often makes suggestions or gives me ideas and options to improve things, and he always follows up after completing his work. He's a very nice guy. Google Equity residential's part in killing rent control. 17.9 million dollars, wow. They also added a brand new pool behind the mill creek office. not security cameras throughout property, better onsite security (there is none) , or gates around the property. Nope brand new pool and patio area. That'll make the residents happy Equity Residential. Very unpleasant experience here. Oscar (maintenance), Alma, and Ms. Wilson are amazing . I forgot the other two women.... Other than that, avoid avoid avoid avoid. Nearly $400 in utility fees and non-opt out , that's not including PG&E. You have to pay for every parking space, and my building (T) was roach infested the entire time. We were charged for repairs and paint work that needed attention before we moved in. They gave us a dish washer that was disgusting , we are Hispanic and don't ever use that thing, but we cleaned it for them and left it better before moving out. They still acknowledge it was un-sat. Really? I had to put in multiple tickets for about a month or two to fix our electricity , but we still had to pay our full bill lol. No compensation or apologies. Again, Oscar was great and a fast worker. But this is a corporate company that doesn't actually care. There are no gates, so homeless and druggies walk through freely. One druggy even tried jumping into my patio, had to call Milpitas PD. People's rims are constantly being stolen and cars broken into. Many people residents complain on the portal and the corporate staff does nothing. I truly feel for the onsite team. After living in a roach infested apartment complex and attempting to raise our rent by $300, we had enough and moved. Upon move out, they took our security deposit and still tried charging us over $100 . This place was a great place before 2021, seems like is only downhill from here. read more

There's just so many problems in the units. I mean the appliances are really really old like from the 90s, they just show you pictures of the ones that look really nice, but they have a bunch of dented and messed up old appliances. The floor always creeks and its not straight, there's gaps everywhere, There's a lot of roaches, I mean, I wouldn't expect that from someplace that's more in the hood, but this place is way too expensive to be having all these problems. It just seems like management doesn't want to fix anything. This place feels really ghetto. The walls are too thin and it's all just too crappy. read more

We moved in december and we have had multiple problems within our unit that needed to be addressed by maintenance. Starting with our dishwasher that is not drying properly, My first request was made in february. They had came looked at the dishwasher and said they needed to order a part . marked the request as complete and NEVER came back . Then i put another request in early march and they never came and marked it as completed . and AGAIN i put in a request in late march and another guy had came looked at it and said they needed to order a part . we are now halfway through april and i STILL have not heard anything back . I put in another request for our washer march 31st because it keeps making a very loud banging noise , they came to look at it and again they said they needed to order a part and I haven't heard anything back . In early/mid march they came to fix my dripping ac unit and they left a hole in my ceiling that they were going to " fix" within the next few days . the weekend passed and they came to my door saying they would be by either " tomorrow or the next day" and still never came . it's MID april , we haven't even been here a whole 6 months and it just seems like problems again and again . We've contacted the Leasing office and they seem to not care at all . My downstairs neighbor continues to feed stray cats which I am highly allergic to , i am constantly seeing the same 10 cats come everyday . i've complained about this as well and they stated they were going to talk to her which they obviously haven't as she continues to do this . I am honestly fed up at this point! - I made this post yesterday on the resident portal, I've called atleast 20 times within this past week and NOT ONCE has anyone answered the phone and NOW my washing machine is broken this is BS!!! I recently moved out of this property after enduring it for over two years, and I have to say, my experience was appalling. The only positive aspect was the maintenance staff, who were always prompt and helpful. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. Car break-ins are so frequent that it's beyond ridiculous. Despite countless requests to management for security cameras, they did nothing. The property isn't gated, so people can easily come in, steal, break in, and leave. Instead, they force you to pay for a valet trash service, even if you don't want it. This pointless service involves someone taking your trash from your doorstep to the dumpsters, which are on every block and corner. Speaking of dumpsters, be prepared to see homeless people rummaging through them regularly after 9 pm. It's a common sight, and management does absolutely nothing about it. Occasionally, you'll see police parked on the property because of some "incident" the previous night, but management never provides any details about these incidents. And the nightmare doesn't end there. When you decide to move out, management shows their true colors as leeches. They'll slap you with unjust charges, making the move-out process a nightmare. They claimed the kitchen ceiling was damaged, but when I provided pictures proving otherwise, they changed their excuse to some supposed smell. They charged for carpet damage that was because of the AC vent leakage and the chimney cleaning that they did which I reported them to the management, and my upholstery was damaged due to their chimney cleaning. Reporting these issues to Joel, the property manager, is useless. He'll take note of everything but disappears when it comes to taking action. Yet, he'll be the first to jump in when you dispute unfair charges, but never responds to your genuine concerns. The common areas were another disaster. Management kept promising to power wash them but only did it once in the 2.5 years I lived there. The neglect and filth were unacceptable. Dog poop is another frequent issue, found everywhere on the property, adding to the overall poor living conditions. Overall, I would strongly advise against living here. The management's neglect of critical security issues and their predatory approach to move-out charges make this place a nightmare. Look elsewhere for a place that values its residents' well-being and safety. read more

Current resident here at Mill Creek over in the N building. I gotta give credit where credit is due, Joel the property manager is one of the best we've had the pleasure to encounter. Every issue that has popped up (small things like a faulty dryer or a carpet cleaning), Joel has promptly handled for us. If you are looking into living here, this place is worth it! They have two great pool options (and one is heated year round), they have a decent gym, and the neighbors are quiet but friendly- what more could you ask? Joel even went so far as emailing us great food and entertainment spots after we informed him family was visiting from out of state. So far our experience has been great! read more

Stay away. You will save on rent but it's not worth it. Cockroaches, strange smells (which somehow the staff's noses will never be able to smell), grossly outdated plumbing, dangerous parking lot. (Edit: I've attached pictures of what they apparently still call "water bugs" to show that Mill Creek's response is a lie. Their original response is also attached as a picture. Yes, they practically have a designated parking spot for Orkin, the pest control company, because there will always be cockroaches there) They recently painted the exterior walls to fool people into thinking the buildings are well-maintained. Our neighbor had his motorcycle stolen from the parking lot. In 2020, we knew about two different people who woke up with their wheels missing and their cars on concrete blocks. Some people reported having their catalytic converters taken. "Security" comes in once in a while to show a presence so the Mill Creek team can say they did something. There are cockroaches all over the property, as in inside each building and also all over the grounds outside the buildings. When we spoke to Jackie Laface about them, pointing out the California state code regarding presence of pests, she said "Those aren't cockroaches, those are water bugs". She also tried to blame proximity to the creek, since there's water bugs near the water. We googled water bugs on the spot to show her that that's another word for cockroach. She didn't say "water bug" after that, she actually started using the word cockroach. Milmont Drive near Dixon landing is always littered with cigarettes. The management will send people to pick them up once in a while, but they won't really do anything about the people doing the littering (everyone knows who those dudes are. They come out so many times to smoke each day). Somehow, there is a cigarette disposal bin in the spot where the manager, Joel Del Toro Cardenas, likes to smoke with his buddies, but not in the spot with all the cigarettes on the ground. Management is so nice and friendly and polite. In spite of everything they force people to endure. Don't make the same mistake we did in choosing this place. read more

Great place to lease! Everything is clean, staff are responsive and available. It's our 2nd month and the family and I couldn't be more pleased They are taking Covid measures from a safety standpoint and offering to assist with rental assistance for those impacted by Covid. Don't choose Mill Creek Apartments as a place to call home. It's a lovely space, with many amenities, and responsive service to when things inevitably break down in the apartment. Unless you read the fine print you may not be aware to a surplus of miscellaneous charges (can't opt out of enrollment) e.g., parking, visitor parking, deluxe trash, sewer, pest control, water, and water heating which are not included in the rent and rather conservice. The main issue is when moving out as there technicians will up charge everything on the move out inspection to generate as much profit for the property management. I got charged $2,350.69 for a tub reglaze, paint, and carpet replacement (security deposit already deducted). The apartment was NOT wasted and the audacity to demand that much for so little damage is still mind boggling to me. I believe the security deposit is $700 to get people into the door since Mills Creek plans to take a lot more than $700 on the way out the door. A nice place to temporarily call home that has been soured by getting nickel and dime at every opportunity. read more

Amazing place to live with your family. The club house and pool is a plus! A friend of mine was looking for places to move in. She asked if I can go for a tour to Mills Creek. As we were getting to the property a nice maintenance guy approached us and asked if we needed help. Daniel took the time to showed us a little bit around the building and of course the pool area was a nice place along with the hot tub. Daniel told us there is a public park right next door with big green areas so if you have kiddos is a nice place to live. I've lived here for the past 7 months and I've complained to the front office and to Joel about someone smoking in their apartment because I live on the third floor and when I get home from work every day my apartment smells like weed smoke and I'm tired of dealing with it. I lived here for two years. I just moved out and they charged over $500 JUST to paint the apartment from normal wear and tear. That's more than the entire security deposit and then over $200 for the countertop reglaze, etc. I moved out and they sent me a bill for over $800. I would've painted it myself if I knew it was that much. Absolutely insane, they should notify tenants of repair prices so the tenants have the option to do it themselves. read more

Stay Away from these apartments!!! We were there for a year we paid $700 deposit we never got our deposit back. The apartment was literally in the same conditions when we first moved in. In fact when we first moved in the apartment was filthy and had a lot of damages therefore they still took my deposit on top of that we still had to pay $790 how is that possible?? They have very bad parking system and service. I originally had a car so it comes with one resident parking but later when I ordered a new car, I have to be in the waitlist for almost a month ahead. Even after my new car arrived I don't have the resident parking space so I have to park at the visitor parking which my car tolled yesterday and the no one in apartment is taking responsibility. read more
