I love this Milk Tea Lab location. A little far away from my home but it's definitely worth a trip here. First time here and I met the owner, Helen. Super sweet and kind and also found out she's a boba lover like me! I ordered curly fries, milk tea and tempura shrimp. Both the fries and tempura shrimp were freshly made to perfection. Boba was not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness. Also she has a little store with goodies like candies, food, and boba key chains and earrings. Wow wow wow, this place was amazing. The tea was so delicious with great flavor(not just tea flavor). The Peach smoothie was smoothieing greatly. The popcorn chicken was soooo flavorful and the accompanied sauce was so tasty. The Lumpia with its dipping sauce had crunch, umami and zip(from the sauce). The pandit brought me back. Milk Tea Lab replaces Bambū in the Vineyard Shopping Center near Payless Shoe Source and McCaulou's. The menu is sort of confusing especially when you glance over at the periodic table sign on the other wall! But the young woman explained that you can customize your beverage. If you read the menu from left to right like I did, you might think there are only a few beverages to choose from. Those 8 beverages are just some of their flavor combinations. I was looking for my favorite Tiger Milk Tea flavor which I couldn't find. Milk Tea Lab offers more fruity flavors. They also sell different vendor street food like popcorn chicken and takoyaki (octopus balls) but I didn't try anything from their snack menu. I couldn't decide on what to select so I took the lady's recommendation and ordered the roasted milk tea. It was a little smoky and nutty and tasted pretty good. The boba was nice and soft. My fiancé and I moved to concord recently and we are always looking for a good boba place. What we love about this place is that the warm and friendly vibe from Helen and team. The selections of drinks are constantly growing! I mean it is a Lab after all. I like taro but not too sweet - I ordered the Taro Ball drink and my fiancé loves his drinks sweeter and order an Ube Yama. This location just added some seasonal drinks as well. This new Milk Tea Lab location is located just miles away from their first store which opened off of Contra Costa, but the third store in total for this budding chain. Having been to the Milk Tea Lab on Contra Costa more than a handful of times, and being more than familiar with the kind of drinks they offer, the quality, and overall, the great service every time, I was excited to give this new shop a try since they had only been opened for some short months time now. Before arriving to Milk Tea Lab, I had been out for a couple of hours on this incredibly warm, and heatwave driven day. Since I was in the area, it felt just right to drop by this location, and see if it meets up to the standards of the original spot that I've been accustomed to have gone to for those years past. Upon arrival one thing that was immediately noticeable was the size of the location. It's definitely a much smaller location, with numerous smaller tables, unlike the location off Contra Costa, which had varying levels of table sizes, and much more spacious altogether. I mean, they were able to host a dance competition there, and the best you could do here is host a standing competition. I kid. While the seating area isn't particularly spacious, it does have a fairly deep hallway that leads towards the back of the store, so if there is ever a line, there is always plenty of space to stand in, even if all the seating are taken. It's probably a nice hangout spot for local students, since it's in a fairly quiet shopping center, and particularly where the store is located, it's kind of serene, and just not a lot going on, so pretty good spot to be in if you want to just chill with some friends, or take in the serenity for yourself. However, I have to say that the experience today was just not great, and overall fairly disappointing from what was a fairly hot day which I was anticipating with a nice cool drink, but instead, got something that was not up to its usual standards. Let me preface this with some of the other occurrences going on today. There seemed to be a couple of things that was in the mix that may have resulted in the poor quality we got today. One was there was some sort of working with a fundraiser for a local school, which is pretty great as Kaman always likes to hold events such as these, so mad respect for that always. But the other part that may have impacted the quality of the drinks that day, was really the issue with the sealing machine, and that the large size drinks seal was not working properly, so it was not available to be purchased since it'd just be an opened top drink. It feels like the combination of these two things may have just made it at that moment in time for a poor experience. I ordered my typical large Passion Fruit Green Tea, with boba. One of the signatures for Milk Tea Lab compared to all other boba locations is really their large size drinks. Think of getting a Milk Tea in a big gulp sized cup. Yeah, it's not huge, but oh so rewarding. Which is why I was pretty greatly disappointed when the drinks came out, and it was two small sized cups, and I was then informed that because the sealer was broken, this was the best they could do. While my disappointment was great, I relented and still accepted the offering since I was assured that this was the same amount at least as the large size. However, once I got my drinks, and headed to the car, one thing I first noticed was that the drink wasn't really even cold. I asked for no ice, which I've always done in the past, but for some reason, the drink was almost bordering on just being room temperature, and not even the slightest cold, so this was my first warning sign that something may be wrong. As I plunged my boba straw into the film, and took my first sip, it was basically a taste of...medicine? There was definitely something wrong with the amounts of the syrup mixed into the drink, compared to the ratio of the tea, and water. It felt like I was straight up drinking passion fruit cough medicine, which for cough medicine would be great, but for a tea, not so much. Next comes the most disappointing part, and that was in the boba, and it was just not done properly. It was just complete mush, and had no semblance of any Q factor in it. It felt like if I took the boba out of the cup, I could just smear the boba onto a wall, and it would just all spread out neatly like butter because of how mushy it was. It was not pleasant at all. Look, the service today was great, the staff were very friendly and nice. But at the end of the day, if I go to a boba place, and the boba isn't even right, there's a problem. If it were not for the friendly staff, I probably wouldn't have evened out this review's final score. I also know that this isn't what Milk Tea Lab has to offer, since I've been to the Contra Costa one, and it can't be this much of a contrast to each other, so a slight pass for the day because of the aforementioned factors from this visit. read more

This place must have opened recently since there are no yelp reviews yet. Decided to swing by after grabbing some groceries from Lucky's next door. Their menu is somewhat confusing. On one side of the wall, they have a menu in the form of a periodic table. On the other side of the wall, they have a menu with the names of the drinks and prices. I asked the girl if they have honeydew milk tea since it doesn't mention the drink on one of the menus. She wasnt sure either and had to ask someone in the back. I told you the menu is confusing! I wasn't sure about the price until she rang up my order. Not sure what I was drinking since the label says "Jasmine green tea/ honeydew milk tea". Got my drink 100% ice and 80% sugar. Still too sweet, will get less sugar next time. This place is much smaller than the one in Plesant Hill. This location has about four tables. Drink prices range from $3.50 to $4.00 with the option of a regular or large cup. Free Wi-Fi. Customer service ok. The workers aren't as cheerful as those who work at T4 located at the shopping center down the street. Will visit again to sample other drinks. read more

Wow! We had the lychee green tea. My husband who doesn't even like flavored tea was impressed because we could taste the lychee so clearly. Mango tonic was unique. Think italian soda with boba. And the peach milk tea was perfect. The fruit flavor definitely came through. And the large was huge! Even the regular size was big. Price point was very reasonable. Service was very friendly. Plenty of parking. Good selection of games. Can't wait to try the snacks next time. Very happy they are here! read more

The boba was extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY fresh!! It was warm, and drowned in brown sugar syrup. When I say it was the BEST boba I've had in a long time, I MEAN IT!! This Boba spot has been on my radar since it's so close to my home. Today I decided to give it a try. Let me preface this post by saying that firstly, it's not my style to leave bad reviews because if I'm not fond of a place I just won't go back. Secondly, I love me some Boba (taro flavored to be exact). I used to go with my dad as a little girl to the pacific east mall to get a mean taro boba before it became a "fad." After entering I told the gal at the front that it was my first time at their location and what type of taro drink I was looking for. She recommended the Taro Ball Swirl. I ended up ordering the Taro ball swirl with honey boba for my friend and I. It's basically a blended taro slush with syrup and boba. After a few sips of the drink I couldn't taste the taro. Now, I know the difference between powdered taro and taro root. I love both and know what they taste like. However, the taro was so faint I felt like I was drinking a vanilla boba drink. I decided to go back inside to the gal at the front and let her know that I couldn't taste any taro and asked if I was able to try something else. She told me that I could, but I'd have to pay for a whole new one. I preceded to tell her that my friend and I took a few sips and it didn't taste like Taro and asked why we would have to pay for two new drinks? It's not like we were going to keep the drinks they had originally given to us AND the new drinks. I was genuinely confused. The gal asked if I'd like to speak to the manager, so I said yes please. The lady manager in the back handing out the drink orders came out to speak with me. I asked the same question politely if I would be able to order a different drink because ours did not taste like Taro and she responded with the same response...I'd have to pay for two new drinks. She then went onto say that if I went to a restaurant and didn't like what I had ordered that I would have to pay for another whole new meal. I let her know that I have worked in the food industry and if someone didn't like what they had originally ordered (and even barely touched it) they would be entitled to order something else on the menu without being charged for an additional extra meal. I'm not sure where she learned her customer service from but it was skewed. She then began to ramble about being a mom and pop store, etc. While I advocate for mom and pop stores and understand the value of a dollar, their customer service was horrible. There was more dialogue to this conversation but you get the gist of it. When the manager starts raising their voice to prove their point it's not worth the time and energy. I shouldn't have to argue my way to get something worth paying for. It wasn't like my friend and I were asking for our money back, we just wanted either A. Something with more taro flavor or B. To try something else but those options weren't even recommended by the staff. Anyways, this is long winded but it's obvious I won't be back. Moral of the story: BEWARE! If you aren't satisfied with what you ordered you're stuck with it unless you feel like paying more. read more

We have been coming to this location quite a few times these past few weeks. They have a really nice crew here. We have been able to speak with Maria, Pamm and Brionne and they have all provided great service. They were all so kind enough to accommodate our needs. I have been coming here quite a bit these days. My hubby and I have a favorite: Mango Milk Tea. The base is jasmine tea and they put nondairy creamer as well as the mango syrup. I personally order my mango milk tea with 0% sugar and the regular amount of mango syrup so it is not too sweets and less ice. It is ridiculously delicious. My hubby takes his with 30% sweetness and everything else like mine. I have tried their honey roasted milk tea and that is my second go to milk tea order. 0% sugar as well and about half the amount of honey they normally put with less ice. This place is ok. Not the best but not the worst. They open really late and close really early. The Thai tea is really good. That's my favorite drink and what I always get at tea places. I like how they have two different sizes. Most tea places only have one size. The price is pretty expensive, but not a whole lot more compared to other places. I tried the alien soda. This review is long overdue. As you know I love milk tea, it's my drink of choice all day everyday. This milk tea lab is one of 3 locations with 2 more soon to be opening in San Diego and Vacaville. This location happens to be more tucked away in an outside strip mall next to a Kung fu shop. The workers as always were really friendly and keeps me order their seasonal drink the watermelon slush? This was so refreshing on a super hot day as it was essentially pure watermelon chunks blundered up with ice. I had it zero sweet so all the sweetness came from the watermelon. This has become my new favorite drink second only to roasted milk tea. Hopefully this seasonal drink lasts awhile because it is so addicting. After receiving a massage next door I was really thirsty and a tea sounded perfect! I ordered the mango green tea 30% sweet and added mango pooping boba in it. This was the absolute worst tea I have ever had. I don't know if it was the boba or the tea itself but something was wrong. It tasted like soapy or fishy or a combination of both.
