After getting some work done on my car, I decided to stop by Milk Burger, and I'm so glad I did. This place absolutely lived up to the hype. Let's start with the only real challenge. Parking in this area is tough, so give yourself a little extra time to find a spot. Once you're parked though, everything else is smooth sailing. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Erik, and he was one of the highlights of my visit. Funny, personable, welcoming, and genuinely appreciative of every customer who walks through the door. You can tell he takes pride in both his restaurant and the experience he creates. He told me my food would be ready in about 10 minutes, and he was right on the money. He even wrapped everything up and set it by the window so I had a nice view while I ate. I firmly believe a good view makes food taste even better. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and had plenty of space to sit and enjoy your meal. Now for the food. I ordered the Garlic Double Smash with crinkle cut fries after seeing Johnny Novo rank Milk Burger as his number four burger out of 50 burgers he's tried across New York City. After one bite, I completely understood why. This burger was outstanding. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, loaded with gooey melted cheese, and packed with crispy edges that every great smash burger should have. The grilled onions added the perfect touch of sweetness to balance everything out. Every bite somehow tasted even better than the last. If you're debating between a single or a double, get the double without hesitation. If they'll make you a triple, even better. The crinkle cut fries were fresh, crispy, perfectly salted, and exactly what you want alongside a great burger. To wash it all down, I ordered the Henny Colada, and it was delicious. Smooth, refreshing, and a fun twist on a frozen drink. If I had to offer any critiques, the burger is a little smaller than I expected, it was slightly greasy, and I personally wouldn't complain about a little more Hennessy in the colada. Then again, maybe that's just me. None of those things took away from how fantastic the meal was. Milk Burger earned every bit of this five star review. Great food, great service, and an owner who genuinely cares about his customers. I'll absolutely be back, and next time I'm trying the classic Milk Burger, the burger that originally put this place on the map. read more

One of the best burger places in the Bronx. The owner sometimes is behind the counter serving and does well with guests. I've been coming here for years and sometimes eat inside and enjoy the coziness when it's cold out and enjoy the brick wall and the heat. They've even stood the test of time throughout covid. Yeeeessss! I was hanging out in the South Bronx and wanted a really good burger. There are a lot of food options, but there aren't a lot of options if that makes any sense to you and you know anything about the south Bronx. Anyway, of course I checked Yelp and spent time cross-referencing restaurants, based on what showed up on Uber Eats. I usually do this and yes, it's time consuming and I am trying not to be so anal but I refuse to eat shitty food. The burgers are so juicy, so flavorful, not greasy at all, and delicious. The next time I'm in the hood, I'll try the onion rings because the fries were trash. Other than that, it's a really good burger. And if your hungry, I'd recommend that you double up. read more

Clean comfortable cozy with a chill vibe, I really like this spot a lot. It's not a big fancy restaurant and has limited seating, but it's a nice upscale grab and go Burger Spot. It's located on the outskirts of the Bruckner Blvd and 138th St., down the block from Charlie's bar and Grill and made in Puerto Rico. The restaurant is located on the corner and while approaching I didn't notice a real presence, there's a small sign that could easily be missed. The menu has a limited variety of burgers, fries, and drinks but I will definitely go back again to try a few things on the menu. read more

They basically cut the wing in half and called it two. so it was five small pieces. Also something about the tea is was a bit off.. it's very tart. And it's the size of a water cup. Not impressed. BUT I MUST SAY. Once I ate it. It was delicious. The burger was so soft and nicely grilled. The wings were crispy I'm just a bit mad I won't even be close to full for this amount of money. A solid burger option in the South Bx! I had the El Barrio burger which was definitely flavorful and packed a punch with the egg and bacon. The staff are great and very courteous at the register, and bring your order to your table if you choose to dine-in. I appreciated that the burgers are cooked to order and not very greasy, a big win in my book. The ambiance is cozy, with exposed bricks and industrial design. The space is smaller, with about 5 or so tables and some bar seating at the window. Location is a short walk from either the Brook or Cypress Ave 6 train stations, so pretty convenient if you're in the area. Fair warning that burgers are on the smaller side than many may be used to. Expect to pay north of $20 for a burger and fries. read more

The space is beautiful and they worked very hard to create something nice for the people of the area. East Harlem's loss was the south Bronx's gain. I wanted a good burger and this place delivered. I ordered for delivery so I knew what I received wouldn't be as good as it could be but I was still satisfied. The cheeseburger was exactly what I ordered: a cheeseburger. Nothing special but absolutely just right. The pattie was tender and flavorful -- actually, it reminded me of a Shake Shack burger. The grilled onions gave just the right amount of sweetness and the tomato and lettuce the hint of freshness you'd expect for a $12 burger. Not bad I have this thing about wings that aren't true wings -- such was the case with this place. I ordered five lemon-pepper wings but only received three flats and two drumettes. I wasn't surprised but definitely not pleased. The wings were a little dry and the lemon pepper a little light but nothing was terrible. I asked for extra crispy fries and they came extra soft and almost mushy. They weren't horrible (taste-wise) but they were absolutely nothing special. To be honest, I don't think I'm a good judge of fries because these seemed identical to the frozen fries you can get at the grocery store and very similar to what I get when I order from other places. So, again, I won't hold it against Milk Burger for being exceptionally ordinary. I also got the Oreo milkshake which was decent -- nothing special but nothing to complain about. It had a good consistency and nice, fat Oreo chunks throughout. Not much to complain about. The food was really tasty, however the three of us felt it was over priced for the portions. We could have each easily finished two burgers each. The meat is angus, but still, come on. We ordered falafel burger and the fries with garlic or something, can't remember. We would have loved to have ordered drinks to go but they were $20 each. Like no one is charging that much right now. I had been eyeing Milk Burger since before it opened; I remember when I was in Mott Haven last year I saw signs for it coming soon and was instantly intrigued. Since today was my day off and I had time to kill I decided to stop here for lunch. First off, I really need to applaud this company for opening their first location outside Manhattan right here in the Bronx. With all the Manhattan hot spots seeping into Brooklyn and Queens, it's nice to see my borough getting some love first. The space isn't large at all, but they make good use of it by having stools along the windows and counters, as well as tables strategically placed throughout to maximize space. Decor is mainly woods, think along the lines of Shake Shack. The menu is typical of most other fast foodish burger places, but I did find that Milk Burger had a larger selection of types of burgers and fries. I decided to go with a regular Milk Burger (single patty - you can order a double) with a side of fries. I decided to have it with everything - lettuce, tomato, cheese, onion, pickles, and Milk sauce. The burger was good - full of flavor, not too sloppy, and the perfect size. Note that the Milk sauce is mustard based, so if you're not a mustard fan go without or ask for it on the side. The fries were good but pretty run of the mill. I picked up some sweet potato fries to go and those were better - they had a nice spice to them which made them stand out. You can order online to pick up if you'd like, and they have a rewards program too - though just walking in and ordering I only waited like 5 to 7 minutes at the most. If you are staying to eat, the staff will serve your food to you - a nice perk. I'm happy I finally got to experience Milk Burger - definitely a welcome addition to the Bronx. read more

I wish I could give a better review.. I've been a fan of milk burger since they were in East Harlem and Eric was involved. I'm not sure if he's still involved in the milk burger brand but unfortunately, the burgers are nothing like they used to be. This is my second visit to the Bronx location since they've opened. The burgers seem smaller, they're not as fresh and well prepared as they used to be.. the prices have always been pretty high but at least the burgers used to be good enough to be worth splurging on every so often. I also wish I had an old photo of the guac burger to compare to this new, sadder version. There's barely any guac to justify the price I'm paying. The milk sauce now tastes way too much like mustard. Hands down one of the best beef burgers I've had! Sadly, it's been a while since I've tasted actual beef in a beef patty until I ate here. Lately I've found that in many places the patty is an added texture with barely to little taste to it on its own, so I was hesitant to order one here. To my surprise, the patty was cooked and seasoned perfectly and everything else followed. The sweet potato fries were delicious. They had the perfect crisp and thickness to them. I've been going to Milk Burger for about a year now and every time I go I am never disappointed. I adore their turkey burgers... it literally the best turkey burger I've had in my life and thats saying a lit for someone who had to substitute for beef burgers for 10+ years. The only disappointment I ever had was when they would run out of turkey but the Chicken sandwich and Fish Burger are also good alternatives. The atmosphere is also very inviting and the staff are always attentive and courteous. You always feel like a friend when you enter the space. Also, they have this new milkshake that has Cafe Patrón in it ( i forgot the name) but do yourself a favor and try it! The flavor is amazing and they don't skimp on the alcohol.
